Hollypaw's entire demeanor had changed since Daywhisper's words, he seemed distracted and on edge, but would never admit to it.

The white and red tom lifted his muzzle to the sky, taking in all the scents he could "uh- some kind of... bird... maybe?" He questioned quietly, trying to get a better smell, his tail tip twitching behind him.

Fallenpaw got to her paws, blushing in embarrassment. Sorry! She squeaked, nodding at her mother. That's got to be rabbit!! She exclaimed, raising her head was o sniff the air.

She shook her head "No need to apologize sweetheart" Daywhisper said with a purr, nudging Fallenpaw's cheek with her nose affectionately.

She looked over to Hollypaw with a nod "Good job Hollypaw-" She was cut off by Fallenpaw's answer, her smile widened as she nodded "Both of you are correct! I know we're not ready for bunny hunting, but if you want to try for the crow, feel free to do so" She said with a nod, eyeing her two kits.

Hollypaw brightened up a bit, but not much. He glanced towards his sister. If she didn't make a move, he definitely would. He wasn't entirely confident he'd catch it, but he'd definitely try his best.

The white and red tom waited, raking his claws gently across the grassy moor below him.

Fallenpaw flicked her tail to her brother. I'll chase it towards you! She whispered, lowering herself to the ground. She narrowed her eyes, moving towards the crow quickly and it scampered towards Hollypaw.

Daywhisper furrowed her brows as she watched, this was definitely an interesting way to go about catching the crow, she had very little hope it'd actually work though. The most important thing with birds of any kind was to be stealthy and quick, they are capable of flying directly off the ground.

She stayed silent though, if they caught it she'd still give tips, but they would have to learn this lesson one way or another. She kept herself as out of sight as possible as to not add to the difficulty her kits had already given themselves.

Before he could say a word his sister was making a move, damn it. He let out a frustrated sigh as he darted forward, trying to predict which direction the bird was going to be coming from.

Once he had a pretty good idea of the trajectory, he leaped into the air. His claws snagged the crow's wing, causing it to crash to the ground with a thud. He quickly delivered the finishing move, trying to kill it as cleanly and humanely as possible.

Once he was sure the crow was dead, he straightened up, looking back towards his sister, then his mother. They'd done it! somehow... He didn't care to ask how though, he was just glad to have caught it.

Fallenpaw purred, headbutting her brother. Great catch! She squeaked, flicking her tail towards her mother. Mama! We caught it! She called, jumping up and down.

Daywhisper padded out of her hiding spot, a warm purr erupting from her as she beamed at her kits "Wonderful job you two!" She called out affectionately, bounding over.

She affectionately nuzzled Fallenpaw's cheek and gave Hollypaw a proud nod. Her kits were already so talented and she couldn't be more proud. the mostly white Windclan she-cat glanced up toward the sky, they could probably still catch a bit more prey before having to head back.

"Okay! how about we do a little challenge, we'll split up and catch as much prey as we can. When the sun sets, we will meet back here, alright?" She hummed in thought "Don't go too far though- I don't want either of you getting lost or hurt" She said looking between the two.

Hollypaw smiled softly at the praise, perking up at her mention of solo hunting. Perhaps he could add a challenge to it "I bet I can catch more than you Fallenpaw" He said, sticking his tongue out playfully. His tail waved excitedly behind him.
