Looking down at Daisypaw, she figured it was about time. "I actually need to speak with you, Stags, 'n Berries in my den, Daisypaw," she told the apprentice, ignoring the awkwardness she now felt at bringing this up. This was not going to be an easy conversation, especially when the leader had somewhat made up her mind after the last discussion with Stags. "You can... help later." Oh, stars above help her. "Cobs, if you see Berries can you send her up to me?"
With that she nodded to Cobs and flicked her tail for Daisypaw to follow. In the clearing, managing to catch Stags glance, she nodded for him to follow them as she headed up the slope towards her den.
Daisypaw's jaw clenched shut. She knew what this was about.

The tom finally reached camp from the border, spotting StormStar and dipping his head kindly to her. “Storm’Star! Border pa’rol was good! No scen’s ove’ borders, everything seemed normal ‘round there. Taugh’ KitePaw a bit of hun’in too! Nuthin’ was caught though, didn’ get to trying too.” he explained, informing the leader on their outing.
Perking her ears as the first batch of patrols came back, the leader looked expectantly at Rowanmane. Good, it seemed that all was well at Sedgewater Valley, which was good given the history. At least tensions seemed like they were starting to die down a bit. "Glad you were able to teach 'em a bit - hopefully it'll be a good addition to their trainin'." With that the leader gave a nod to dismiss the Head Lionheart.

sure, they were mad. but they had a duty to the clan.
"marked the border. nothin' looks.. out of place. shadowclan hasn't marked their side in a few days, it looks like. other than that, things went... alright."
they... didnt mention their apprentice's failure to heed their instructions, they would have a talk with featherpaw later.
Featherpaw padded behind her mentor. She was happy that she was able to see the outside of the camp, but her failure in following her mentors instructions to not mark the border, and just stay back and watch, had ruined everything for her on the patrol. She was glad that her mentor didn't mention it to Stormstar, but she was expecting a scolding later about it. She didn't know what was worse, being scolded by her mentor, or the leader of the clan. Probably the latter.

Floodsight followed behind the two, checking her peripherals once in a while until they've neared camp. She joined her fellow patrolmate and her apprentice by Stormstar, accompanied by a small respectful nod to the dusky gray leader. The silverish cream she-cat wrapped her tail around her gentle frame following Amberdusk's report, word by word. With a small nod, Floodsight agreed with Amberdusk and had not much to add. "It was...surprisingly quiet."
Anything else between Amberdusk and Featherpaw...that was between them, and it was something the fellow warrior could manage on their own. With her not bringing it up, Floodsight was sure they're able to handle the situation. Compared to her...she still got much to figure out with whatever the stars was going on with Aspenpaw. Holding in an exhausted sigh, she faced Stormstar awaiting for any other instructions or dismissal.
[ mind reader: activated ]
...There was something that the patrol leader wasn't telling her, and Stormstar narrowed her eyes at Amberdusk. Her ears perked and she glanced towards Floodsight, but she didn't do anything outside of echo the former. Featherpaw was quiet too. "...Nothin' else to report?" she asked, tail tip flicking side to side as she waited to see if any of the three cats would clue her in on why her gut wa stelling her that everything hadn't, infact, gone alright. She couldn't tell exactly what part of it was a lie. ShadowClan's border was not one to mess with, and the leader would be pissed if any of these cats thought keeping anything from her was a good idea.
[ A small heads up that Stormstar has the Mind Reader purrk, and as such has picked up on the fact that things may not have actually gone alright! ]
Coming from Smallpines, the beige cat padded over to the freshkill pile to drop her vole. She felt relieved that everything went without any problems. But Songfeather couldn't shake the ominous feeling that next patrol along that border maybe wouldn't share their luck. She looked around for her leader to report back to her. She spotted Stormstar after a moment and walked over to her with small but fast steps and a raised tail, happy to have somewhat good news to deliver. "Stormstar?" she meowed and sat down, wrapping her tail neatly around her paws. Songfeather waited for the leader to give her permission to speak and answered "Scentmarks are refreshed. No sign of ThunderClan and we didn't encounter any of those pesky otters either. We brought some freshkill, too." she blinked slowly, awaiting the leaders response. She started to think about what she should do next. She didn't have an apprentice to train. Though, she could go and hunt some more. But maybe after a bit of self care, Songfeather decided.
They came back with a catfish hanging from their maw, their tail held high as they put it into the fresh kill pile.
[ +1 fish]
Then they whent to go find Stormstar to tell them about their patrol, there was nothing out of the ordinary from what they could tell.
Stormstar - RiverClan Leader
The border she was perhaps most worried about - but thankfully it seemed that all was well and good. At least there weren't any issues with ThunderClan to be concerned about, what with having her paws full with the otters in the rivers. "Good work on bringin' somethin' back for the pile. Hopefully with this 'n the hauls the other patrols bring back, we'll have a good bulkin' up of it." She gave a flick of her tail to dismiss the cats from their report.

She watched as Jaggedpaw missed the fish. "It's alright, there'll be plenty more opportunities in the future." She said, before starting to dig back up her prey "Anyway, 'bout time we head back. It's gettin' late."
After picking up the two fish and the crab and double checking if Jaggedpaw was following, Cascadingrapids made her way back.
Once arrived, she set down the prey where it needed to be and went to report to Stormstar. "We're back. Got some fish and crabs, lucky us." She said to Stormstar.
[FISH ONE, 1 CRAB AND FISH TWO]
Sneezepaw rushed in behind her patrol mates, struggling with a fish in her jaws. Her wet fur on her muzzle plastered itself to her face.
"Sorry,"
She mumbled to both cats. She'd intended to be early, but instead lagged behind again. She'd have to learn for the future. Not only was it hindering herself, but other cats. Such as her patrol mates, Cascadingrapids and Jaggedpaw.
She felt guilt seap into every muscle in her body, heat overwhelming her as she plopped her fish down on the prey pile.
Ah, the first of the hunting patrols - and all successful too! Stormstar nodded as Cascadingrapids approached with the apprentices in tow. "Glad to hear it was successful," came the leader's remark before she dismissed the groupe.

Stagheart slowed his pace as he ducked into camp; by now the worst of his embarrassment had passed from the fumble he'd made (that hopefully no one but he and the stars had seen), but thankfully he at least had three pieces of prey to make up for that, and Amberflare had caught some herself. Hopefully help counter the fact that Baneberrypaw hadn't showed. Oh, yeah, about that... when was the last time he'd actually seen her? Now that his focus on his duties were done, the reminder that his apprentice hadn't showed her face in awhile brought back all the thorny, worried feelings he'd often get from the realization. His maw fell into a frown.
As he approached Stormstar, he paused by the fresh-kill pile, dropping off the three pieces: two voles and one squirrel. He glanced behind him, making sure the pleasant flame-point warrior Amberflare had been following behind before padding up to the gray-furred leader. He cleared his throat and pushed the sloppy blunder he'd made to the back of his mind to haunt him for another day.
"Heya, we both caught some pieces. But just so ya know... Baneberrypaw never showed up. Haven't seen her in awhile for trainin', either," he added reluctantly, the flash of guilt and worry in his usually-stoic blue gaze betraying his inner thoughts. His voice had dropped low, as if worried about other Clanmates hearing, not wanting to spread alarm unless it was an actual concern. "I was wonderin' if she was just avoidin' it 'n was tryin' to find her to talk 'bout it, but... if she didn't even show up for patrols, I'm gettin' the feelin' somethin' might be wrong. You... you haven't seen 'er, have ya?" He didn't want to say the word 'missing', that m-word feeling bitter on his tongue before it even left. But... his gut feeling told him otherwise. And he figured Stormstar was reading between the lines.

Keeping pace, she managed to calm herself down from the reasonably frightening experience but unfortunately the shame of her not so perfect kill(though mostly covered up now) burned her pelt. What would cats think of her if they saw it? No, no, she had one pristine catch and she had caught the other so why would she be ridiculed? Stagheart seemed a bit flustered as well so maybe it was just the enviroment that was causing some problems..wait that was weird-
Shaking her head at the absurb thoughts, the flame point gently placed her squirrel and mouse on the prey pile after Stagheart's deliver as they entered camp., making sure they were precisely placed to draw attention to the former and hide the latter from the public eye. Show case her achievements, conceal her faliures. That was just how she liked it and she'd make sure that was all anyone saw. 'That should do it..' After insepcting her work, Amberflare cast a glance to over where Stagheart was reporting to Stormstar. Brows furrowed with concern and pity at the mention of Baneberrypaw. The tabby warrior appeared to be greatly troubled by it...poor thing. Attempting to catch his attention, Amberflare offered a tender smile, hoping to offer some comfort to the tom.
Another hunting patrol that seemed to have a good haul - except that the news about Baneberrypaw not showing up caused Stormstar to frown. Where had the young she-cat been? There weren't many of the kits her brother had brought into the Clan left. Was... was Lionpaw the last one? "Thanks for lettin' me know..." She'd have to look through the territory later for any trace of the 'paw. "I haven't, no." Shaking her head, the leader furrowed her brows in thought before looking back between Stags and Amberflare, nodding to them that they were both dismissed. "If I catch any trace of her, I'll letcha know."
Peachspring passed back into camp, leading the two little apprentices with her. She dropped her prey onto the fresh kill pile then reported, ”Stormstar! Our hunting’ patrol was dandy. We caught plenty of prey, and the kiddos were both great.”
Seapaw was the first to find him, aspenpaw immediately ceased his panicked yowling and cast an embarrassed and toothy smile at seapaw. Spiked fur began to lie flat and aspenpaw regretted running around screaming like a kit. If had used his nose he would have scented that his clanmate was nearby but of course he never did think first did he. "oh Hi! I was just- um squirrel, chased- uh...yeah um" stumbling over his words he tried to think of a good excuse for getting lost so easily but if there was one it was avoiding him. Instead he decided to avert his attention to something else completely. "nice catch! Sure Stormstar will be proud of this haul" he complimented, flicking his tail towards the prey at the younger toms paws and prayed that had worked as a distraction.
It hadn't mattered really seeing as peachspring had made an appearance immediately after his words had left his mouth. Her reaction was far from what he expected, wasn't sure going to scold him or something? Like how Floodsight would? I didn't matter, he quite preferred this reaction over what his mentors might have been. He puffed out his fur in pride at the praise and picked up his own haul. He hadn't expected to catch this much and frankly he was really proud of himself. At peachspring's comment he looked back at seapaw who was indeed drenched in river water. "sheesshhel" he said teasingly bumping shoulders with seapaw or more so seashellpaw before following after Peachspring
Upon entering the camp Peachspring mad a beeline towards where the other patrols were reporting to Stormstar. Aspenpaw unsure if he should report the hunting or not, he followed suit and stood beside the warrior as she gave a brief run done on how the patrol was. He straightened his posture as she mentioned the 'kiddos' which he assumed must be him and seapaw. He wasn't a kid but he'd accept the title this one time.
"Yeah hunting was great! Most uve caught ever" he added, soaking in his pride. Out of the corner of his eye he spotted his mentor who must have just reported in her patrol. "Oh and I caught a bird! First try" he boasted louder, loud enough that Floodsight would most likely hear. He didn't look at her though, he was still angry he just wanted to know how much better he was doing with out her help. Yeah, that was it. He wasn't looking for approval of any sort...he cast a sideways glance at Floodsight but was unsure if she heard him or not. Either way he didn't care. He'd be taking this prey to the freshkill pile and maybe that ex lionheart so he could put on some weight.

Hmmm, why was Aspenpaw stumbling over his words like that?? Was he hiding something? Had he been on some super special secret mission!? Who knows? Certainly not Seapaw, as he was quickly distracted by the compliment - "thanks!! Bet you got some good ones too!" They purred. He was glad the trip had gone well, with it only being his second hunt. He'd have to tell Oliverat all about it, he'd be well proud!
They turned their head as Peachspirng appeared. As she went on, he felt himself grinning at the praise: A nice bunch! He couldn't wait to show Stormstar. And... A swim? Huh? Oh yeah! He glanced down at his fur, still dripping with water -"oh, uh yeah!" he tried to play it cool - a totally on purpose swim, yep! No falling involved. "It's uhhh.. A nice day for it!" He exclaimed, a bad liar as always. He stuck his tongue out playfully, returning Aspenpaw's shoulder bump.
The walk back to camp was pretty quick, and he soon felt his fur dry off (thankfully) must be those RiverClan genes, or something like that. They reached camp, and approached Stormstar quickly. Seeing Stormstar lead, he'd grown a renewed trust for the clan's leadership. Maybe he wasn't 100% certain, but he had far more faith than before. He certainly wasn't scared to approach the leader, which was a positive.
[report below ^^]
Peachspring gave her report, and he felt a sense of pride as she spoke highly of the two of them. Aspenpaw next, who caught a bird! Wow!
Now it was his turn. Gently, he placed his catches down - it wasn't anything remarkable, but he wasn't as experienced as the other two, so he figured it wouldn't matter! What was he meant to say here?? He figured he probably shouldn't mention his fall, and maybe think about not chasing stuff so close to the river. "Yea, it was real fun!" Uh - that probably wasn't information the leader needed, was it? "I'd love to catch fish next time!" he added, once again contemplating whether it was relevant, but, often times his thoughts flowed right out of his mouth.
Oh, this hunting patrol had quite the catch. And it seemed like it had gone over pretty well. Peachspring's report and abundance of prey was welcome, greeted by a grin and a warm purr. "Good work," she praised the warrior, before looking between the two apprentices. They both seemed to have their own respective catches. "'N you two - keep this up 'n you'll be great warriors for the Clan in no time." Stormstar let the grin spread across her face, really leaning into the praise. She knew what it meant for some cats to recieve that kind of attention from higher ranking cats. She was genuinely proud of them - and if she could give them some more boosts of encouragement, she certainly would do just that. With another nod, she flicked her tail to dismiss the patrol.

Treeclimber dipped their head as a thankyou, then they decided to search around for anything to wear in their pelt, they managed to find a purple flower. It didn't look like any herb she knew so she decided to give it to someone. Since things seemed to still be a little off put by recent events they decided to give the flower to Stormstar without really saying anything as a act of friendship.

ah, stormstar figured something was amiss with their report. "well... it's less about the shadowclan part of the patrol, and more about featherpaw's inability to follow my directions durin' it. i was plannin' to talk with her later about it, but i told her to stay away from the border and watch, not knowin' when shadowclan could come and possibly attack us, didn't want her gettin' killed." they paused, amber hues flicking over to their apprentice before continuing; "she instead went and tried to mark the borders herself, when i specifically told her to stay at least five tail-lengths away from the border."
