Whistlekit walks into the nursery, carrying a mossball in her jaws. She's very graceful, but inwardly she's excited at the interesting piece of news she just got from the apprentice den. Her eyes are sparkling prettily. Whistlekit searches for her friends in the nursery to share the secret with, and maybe play mossball with after.

Whistlekit's eyes brightened as she saw Whirlkit. A friend! One she could finally talk to, because she felt like she was going to explode if she didn't say anything. She trots over, bringing the mossball with her, and glances around to see if there was anyone looking.
"Whirlkit, do you want to play mossball?" Whistlekit asked the younger kit. "Ashpaw helped me get the ball. It wasn't easy. There's so many kits in the nursery now, and a lot of them are just plain mean, and they never share. Like..." Whistlekit pauses, rolling the ball between her paws.
"Like the Snowy kits. Their dad's nice, but, you know." Whistlekit glances at Whirlkit to see if they seemed unhappy or uninterested. She wasn't sure if Whirlkit was close with them.

EGRETKIT she/her . 3 moons . dark brown and lilac tabby with dappling with cream markings and blue eyes
[ sticky pads ]
ears swiveling at the sound of her uncle's voice, egretkit immediately forgets about what she was doing – wrestling with a mossball – to hurry over to crowtooth. "UNCLE CROWS!!! uncle crows!" she whoops, running to him as fast as her little legs would carry her. she skids to a stop, arriving just after her brother, and immediately tries to glue herself to her uncle's paws. her nose tickles from all the dirt covering the deputy, and she promptly sneezes.
anyway, now that he's here, this is her perfect opportunity to show off her imitation of him!
"I know what it is, gracks!" egretkit confidently informs, looking from the monstrous beast strewn over her uncle's back to her brother. it has feathers. "it's a bird. a huge one, just like I dreamt once!" okay, maybe she didn't dream about this specific bird, but it was a huge one. real tasty, too. "'nd I bet uncle crows was all like this! 'm gonna go ta the territurry an' catch a bird for all o' my niblin's!" she says, trying to make her voice sound a bit grumbly as she imitates crowtooth.
really, she isn't sure what a nibling is, but she knows she's one and so are her brothers. "I sounded just like him, right?" she giggles.
Too young to gossip? Whistlekit didn't mind, in fact, she only thought it was cute how excited the kit was getting over the ball. Little kits were annoying at times, but also, they were adorable.
"Aw... sure." She purrs, tossing the mossball from left to right paw to tease Whirlkit.
"Remember big sister's advice. Be careful around the Snowykits. Especially that Jaggedkit and Frostkit." She frowns. "Nasty things. Anyway, you want the ball?" More good natured teasing. Whistlekit giggles.

Whistlekit has to stop her frown from getting worse. Wrinkles. What was wrong with the Snowykits? A lot, that's what. So many things that it was difficult to say. In fact, it shocked her that Whirlkit didn't know any of this. At all. She'd thought all the kits knew by now.
"They're mean," Whistlekit meows simply, tidying the base of her fur. "They pick a fight with every single kit in the nursery. Especially Frostkit and Jaggedkit." She shudders, sticking closer to Whirlkit, before she whispers,
"And Frostkit and Strawberrykit bite. Be careful, or they'll kill you in your sleep. Don't tell any cat I said it. It's a secret." Whistlekit is satisfied with this, and she tosses the mossball to Whirlkit, waiting for the kit to catch it and throw it back.
"no fun? You know what not fun!? Hitting a piece of moss you ripped of the nest around like its prey" he hissed in response. His green eyes narrowed as his sister continued to stomp continually. It was strange that he was offended by her words that meant absolutely nothing to him. He could care less that his sister didn't like play fighting but something inside him wanted to make her understand that he was right and she was wrong. That fighting was fun and everything else was lame.
Standing up from the nest and puffing up his fur he stared down at his sister angrily. "fighting is fun, and it's useful! One day everyone will have to fight and what will you do? Attack our enemy by throwing mossballs at them. Weak" maybe he shouldn't be to harsh on his sister, she wasn't like card or straws. She was....soft? Was that the words. Whatever was the right description that's what she was, something that his other sisters seemed insistent to protect. Maybe..
Maybe seedkit was actually weak, maybe she was like this because no one had bothered to teach her otherwise. Well then Jaggedkit would just have to be a good brother and help his sister out. "I'll help you not be weak. Then straws and card can stop treating you like a fragile kit" it must be annoying to be constantly treated like a kit, poor poor seedkit.
Ouch, ouch, ouch! Jag was just so mean, far too mean. The only thing that she could think of to counter his claims was a simple, sharp… “No!” Maybe one day she’d have to fight, but she did not have to fight now. She was free to play and have fun as she pleased, no matter how trivial it was to anyone else–even her own bumhead brother.
With a frown on her face, she shlumped down onto the ground, paws pressed into the comfy moss of their nest. “‘M not weak, I like… I like being nice an’ stuff, Jag.” She murmured in disagreement, but she couldn’t the rapid thumping of her tail behind her at the idea of her brother actually hanging out with her! Even if it was something as silly as teaching her ‘not to be weak’. She never spent much time with her brother–either of them, really–cause they were always off tousling somewhere. Perhaps she could… Soften him up, just a little bit!
