Willowpaw licked Mosspaw’s head to comfort him.

Ashpaw nodded. “No problem” he said very quietly. The apprentice eyed the kit, that was presumably searching for his mossball, even though he was talking a lot of time. He’d seen him in the nursery before, he was named Whislekit. Most of the time, he was with his friend Sedgekit, but he wasn’t now. “ Hi Whislekit,” he said. “Here’s your ball,” he said while kicking it towards him with his tail. Maggotpaw has risen before the sun feeling like an iceblock with whiskers, wracked with shivers and numb in its little toes. It's cold. Why is it so cold??? Although its body has started taking the necessary steps to protect against the elements (Maggotpaw cannot remember a time its fur had ever felt so dense, compared to how it usually sits) it is still a bony, weak-pelted thing, and it is not excited for the chill that's been creeping into the air day by day.

Maggotpaw, shivering hard enough that its clacking teeth could be heard in the still-dark den, wobbles up to its paws and sweeps a bleary look around the den. It doesn't care who fixes the cold, but somebody has to fix it. So without a second thought, the pale apprentice collapses into another nest and against another body and it burrows in like its namesake. Sharing is caring.

Dandelionpaw had just returned to the den whenever she had finished patching up the elders´ den a bit, though it was still sunrise and before dawn. Her amber hues were fixed on her nest, and she halted abruptly at the edge of it, staring down into the dip where another cat lay.

With a sigh, Dandelionpaw prodded her denmate´s side with a snowy paw. ´´Maggotpaw, that´s my nest. Please move back to yours.´´

"Noooooooooooooooo....." the little pest groans, dramatically burying its face into its thin arms. It stays like that for a moment, imagining that Dandelionpaw has gone away for forever, before finally peeking out to add:

"It's my nest now but you can still use it if you ask nice." The arrogance. It fidgets, coiling into a tighter, cozier shape. "So hurry up and ask nice so you can be in here and I can be warm."

The little heat leech bats its eyes as though it's entirely convinced that Dandelionpaw will want to kowtow to the cat stealing her nest and happily proceed to share it with them.

Whistlekit froze. She was going to quietly, secretly sneak away with her ball after she heard enough gossip, and she didn't expect for Ashpaw to notice her like this. To throw her the ball like this. Aw... now they had their guard up and wouldn't let loose any more juicy info!

Whistlekit nods and gracefully picks the mossball up, slinking away with a glance at Ashpaw.
