Oh. So it wasn't so bad. Scars? Yeah, she had one all right. "Yes I do. No one knows about it though." She told her. "It's on my belly." She rolled over to show a little scar on her underbelly. @Scary_Sage

Looks like Maggotpaw's late to the party!

The scruffy white cat had been caught up in some other interaction, one that felt meaningless to it, one it was treating as such. It nodded yes or no or shrugged whenever it could, not speaking much because it held a couple of precious heather sprigs clamped tightly in its jaws. It was a little too late in the season for the heather to be blossoming as brilliantly as it might've during the warmer times, but Maggotpaw still appreciated the shape of the soft stems and the teeny tiny little leaves, and it needed something to make for a new-apprentice gift, for Fallenpaw. It hadn't realized just how close she was to her new rank until her name had been called at the most recent meeting and, while this didn't feel like a development worth really celebrating, Maggotpaw is still eager to show off just how good it is at going out and finding beautiful things.

And then, of course, one of the sprigs will be for Maplekit, just because. Maybe as a congratulations that she still gets to be a kit. Maybe because Maggotpaw really just likes this 'giving things to other cats' stuff. If you give something to someone then they have to keep it no matter what, and that's like you're always there and they're always seeing you. Maggotpaw likes that. So when it spies its friends across the clearing (thanks in no small part to Maplekit's voice), talking about it-doesn't-care what, the undersized apprentice breaks away from what it had been doing to flounce over.

"Maplekit! Fallenkit!" It hasn't forgotten that she's Fallenpaw now, it just doesn't care to call her that. Maggotpaw never shouted her old name away. It still remembers who she was first. "Shut up about what you're talking about for a second. I have things. Take them." They get their gifts with only a little bit of spit on the tiny leaves.

Fallenpaw looked at Maggotpaw, puzzled. I'm Fallenpaw now, remember? She told it, then looked at the stems. Wonderful! Her voice dripped with sarcasm, hoping it wouldn't notice. And Maplekit's still a kit. She announced, making sure Maggotpaw knew what was up.

It gives Fallenpaw a terse frown. "Well I'm friends with Fallenkit. Fallenkit can have gifts. You give that to her, then." It's just being stubborn. "And I know what Maplekit's name is. Maplekit is also my friend." And Maplekit is flashed a proud, appreciative look for her thanks. She's thankful. Maggotpaw made her thankful. That's so good—all cats, always, should be thankful to it. Why can't Fallenpaw figure that out?

Maggotpaw hums, glancing between the pair, then perks up. "Fallenpaw. Have you collected my feathers yet?"

Fallenpaw scoffed, taking the flowers. She lifted her head at Maggotpaw's question and flicked her ear. Feathers? What feathers? She'd forgotten. She gritted her teeth, shifting on her paws.
