Oh, GhostFin? That was a nice name. Baneberrypaw hadn’t ever met anyone with a prefix of “Ghost”. It wasn’t bad, just.. different. Baneberrypaw nodded, a sober, sad, wavering smile on face. Nothing wrong with the name. Looking at the tomcat’s brown eyes, she silently thought over his accent before replying. ”I like it, sir. It’s not bad, just.. different.” Bane replied softly. Her claws flexed into the earth subconsciously, stretching the space between her toes. ”I..I promise a I’ll try not to be a bother.” Baneberrypaw promised softly, gratefully. All she could do was pray she wouldn’t lose her new companion.

GhostFin huffed softly "ye know ya name ain't any better, rat." GhostFin argued, but sighed, he wouldn't go too hard on her. She was a cry-kit, he saw that clear as day. he sat down in front of Baneberrypaw. "you cant be that much of a bother, now, why ye out here in the first place? and stop with the 'sir' mess." GhostFin added, slightly annoyed, looking around.

Oh, at least he had faith she wouldn’t be a bother, or something like that. Baneberrypaw hadn’t expected him to have a problem with sir, but oh well. Wait.. why she was out here? The ex-riverclanner cringed back at that. She. Didnt want to talk about that. ”I’m searching for someone.” she said simply. But that someone was none other than herself. None other than her own soul, her own home, her own identity in general. Bane blinked, then looked away with a weak smile.

”I’m.. searching for myself, s- GhostFin.” perhaps that was why he was here. He probably didn’t even know Fadingstar, as Baneberrypaw hadn’t known him when she first joined the clan before the clan got exiled and she was still Baneberry. That felt like a long time ago. Perhaps it was.

GhostFin looked at Baneberrypaw, then signed "first ya need to stop with that 'weak act' it aint gonna get ye nowhere." GhostFin instructed. She definitely needed some guidance, even more if she's 'finding herself' like she said. GhostFin nudged her head up with his paw "If ye are not tough, then at least act like it, cryin when in a fight ain't gon get ye nowhere." GhostFin sighed, his accent showing strongly. I'll help this rat, at least give her a fighting chance, and teach her how to hunt.

She needed to… toughen.. Up? Okay. Baneberrypaw nodded obediently, soundlessly. Her perked deep gray ears swiveled to face Ghostfin obediently, listening without a word as he spoke. Finally, the ex-RiverClan apprentice blinked and focused on the cat. ”I’ll try. I’ll be better, I promise.” Bane swore, with a brief dip of her head. She really, truly appreciated the tomcat for agreeing to help her. She wouldn’t let him down. But right now, she was going through something there was no way anyone could possibly understand. A cat she had looked up to, the leader who had saved her and treated her like his own, had just up and.. Ran away. It sucked, so bad.

”I want to be stronger. But, ehm… fight? Do.. do cats fight an awful lot?” Baneberrypaw was no stranger to fighting, but it was very very different. None of the cats had ever.. Been one on one without a medicine cat, or drawn blood except for the 3v1. Looked like she had to get used to it, just another thing to learn about.. Being an adult. Being alone. Stars, she wasn’t that old! How was she supposed to be an adult? Maybe just living alone and being independent made her an adult? So when Ghostfin finished teaching her everything she needed to know she’d be an adult? …Weird.

Baneberrypaw paused briefly, looking Ghostfin over silently, inspecting his pent as though fur could scar, knowing the scars would be more visible in Greenleaf, when fur would grow shorter. Shaking the figurative buzzing from her ears, Bane's blue eyes looked upward to focus on her multicolored companion's. "I will." She swore solemnly, straightening her shoulders. Inside, to herself, she added an "I promise", but the words went unspoken, hanging heavily in her mind and traversing through her ears into the air, hanging in the silence. "Could I see?" she asked quietly. Baneberrypaw had always been intrigued by the art of healing, though she had never admitted it out loud.

Ghostfin smiled slightly, liking how she had a little more confidence. As for his scars, his smile turned down slightly, but he nodded. He had a large but old scar over his stomach, and a couple on his back and paws. He kept silent as he showed Baneberrypaw, not that proud of his scars, but he let her look anyway.
