It was honestly a little boring as a kitten that wasn’t allowed outside of the camp and with everyone busy preparing for the harsher season. Less warriors and apprentices to talk to and it seemed that everyone in the nursery already had someone else. Even Skykit seemed to be busy, but it was mostly because he feels like if he puts on the happy go lucky mask again he might explode. He was tired but he didn’t want to be alone, but he didn’t want to be blank around Skykit when she already knew him as cheery. So he decided to walk around the clearing, peeking into dens here and there, and look for something to do or a place to rest and watch for a little bit.

* He sat near the warriors den and was cleaning himself. He noticed a kit wondering around camp and looked for someone or something. He laid down loaf style and watched them with soft eyes. His mate would have been all over this little one. *

Patchkit blinked and noticed a warrior settled down not too far away from him which was strange. They didn’t seem to be doing anything, not eating or talking, just sitting which was strange for this time of day. People were always doing something unless they were a elder and even then elders were always doing something like complaining or speaking or sharing, even kittens like him did things like playing and talking and running around. Why was this cat doing nothing? It intrigued Patchkit and he stepped towards them. Not knowing anything about them yet, Patchkit decided to go to a sort of blank personality before tuning as they speak and Patchkit can get a better grasp of them. “Hello, I’m Patchkit. Who are you and what’re you doing?”

" I'm Swiftleap, but you can call me Cal. I'm waiting on my mate so we can head out and hunt. However I haven't seen her around. "

”Cal?” The kitten repeated, the foreign name came off the kitten’s tongue slowly and hesitantly. That wasn’t like any name that Patchkit had known and he listened and learned a lot of names all the time. Like Crowtooth, and R///abbitpaw, and Skykit, and Twilightstar. Nothing like Cal. He wonders why this cat had a strange name when he also seemed to have a normal name as well, Swiftleap? Would Patchkit have two different names, one normal and one strange? Does everyone have a strange name but no one uses it? It was a curious thing that was for sure, but Patchkit wasn’t all that interested, being fully honest. He just liked playing games and learning how to be social better and strange names doesn’t help that… he doesn’t think it does at least.

“Who’s your mate? Do they have a strange name as well?” The kitten asked innocently. It was strange and weird but the kitten was too young to truly understand how sometimes older cats saw things that were strange and weird as bad and horrid at times. Patchkit was truly just curious on the difference from the norm just like most kits were. It’s how they learned about their world when stuck inside camp, asking questions and sometimes those questions aren’t questions that some would consider polite.

" I was a loner before I joined Windclan. Cal is what I went by. I still tend to use my old name. As for your other question my mate is Wolfcry and no. She does not have a strange name. "

Patchkit nodded with the new information. An outsider? Well that was all the explanation that he needed. He also didn't really recognize the name Wolfcry but he wasn't the most social with adults so that wasn't super strange. "Alright." Then he trailed off, unsure of where to take the conversation after that. Did Cal want to speak about before he was a windclan cat? Because that was a curiosity that Patchkit now had. But if he was here now then who's to say that it was good. He couldn't imagine not being a Windclan cat... but he didn't really know there were other options if you leave.

"Why did you join Windclan? If I'm allowed to ask that, I'm sorry if that is impolite."

" It's fine, I don't mind talking about my time outside the clan. I joined the clan to live with Wolfcry. Her and I fell in love when I was still an outsider. "
