Daywhisper padded into camp, a rabbit and a crow dangled from her maw. She dropped them on the fresh-kill pile before padding towards the apprentices' den.

Her soft green gaze swept over the pelts of the sleeping apprentices, noting her two kits. She frowned; they were sleeping on opposite ends of the den, which was heartbreaking. She sighed, shaking the thought before calling out softly "Hollypaw, Fallenpaw, Would you like to go hunting?"

The mostly white Windclan she-cat's tail swayed behind her. She wasn't sure what her kid's mentors' had taught them yet but if they needed any tips she was more than willing to help.

Hollypaw had been sleeping fairly soundly, but the call of his name brought him out of his sleep immediately. He turned to see who had called it, surprised when he saw the silhouette of his mother. He hummed quietly in thought before deciding to agree.

The large apprentice yawned, stretched, and then padded toward his mother, greeting her with a soft purr and a gentle headbutt. He turned his attention back to the inside of the den, more specifically his sister- er half-sister.

It was strange for the tom to think about, he still didn't really know how he truly felt about it either. He furrowed his brows, now lost in thoughts of his actual father. He wondered if the tom would be willing to talk to him at a later date.

Fallenpaw trotted after Hollypaw. My mentor hasn't taught me anything! She complained, pressing against Daywhisper's flank. Hollypaw's gonna be a warrior before me! She looked spitefully at the warriors den.

Daywhisper nuzzled against Hollypaw, frowning upon hearing Fallenpaw's words "Is that so?" She gave her daughter an affectionate nuzzle "You both just started your training, I don't think you have to worry about your brother becoming a warrior first" She said with a soft giggle.

The mostly white she-cat turned to leave the den, before darting out of camp. If their mentors wouldn't teach them anything then she would herself. She hummed softly, slowing her pace once she was at her favourite place to hunt. She turned to make sure her kids had followed her.

Hollypaw was surprised by their mother suddenly running off, he didn't know she could even run that fast. The white and red tom shot a glance at his sister before grinning "Race ya" He said, taking off without another word.

Hey! Fallenpaw purred, breaking away from where she was standing. She galloped after him, her small body bounding foward.

Daywhisper watched her kids bounding towards her, good, at least they were capable of getting along still. She purred loudly once they were both in earshot.

She didn't waste any time, rising to her paws before beginning to explain "So, hunting..." she hummed softly, brows furrowed as she thought.

"Okay, so let's start with the crouch." Daywhisper said, demonstrating the proper crouch "Make sure you aren't too low or too high and make sure your tail is off the ground" She said, listing off things she remembered her mentor telling her when she was her kids' age.

"Though you both got your father.....s" Her gaze fell to the ground, right, they both had different fathers. She sighed, forcing a smile and raising her eyes to focus on her kits once more "You both got your fathers' short fur, so you don't have to worry about your fur brushing the ground" She said with a nervous laugh.

"HA! I win!" He said sticking his tongue out playfully before turning to their mother, he listened carefully and watched her demonstration. He crouched almost perfectly, though he was a bit low.

Her last words caused his smile to fall, he grew quiet and closed off. The white and red tom's green gaze fell to the ground. His tail tip twitched behind him.

Fallenpaw purred, pulling to a halt. She tilted her head at her mother's hesitation, but dropped into her best crouch. Pressing herself to the ground, she was a bit much to low. She lost her balance tumbling into the earth.

Daywhisper giggled a bit, watching Fallenpaw lose her balance. She made her way over to Hollypaw, helping him adjust to a more comfortable and stable position. After his crouch was corrected she moved onto Fallenpaw.

"Be careful! try not getting so low next time" She said, demonstrating the crouch once more. Her tail swayed behind her though remained off the ground despite her long fur. She caught the scent of a crow, and perhaps a mouse? She sniffed at the air, turning to her kids "What do you two smell?"
