A Wren finds something unexpected. ({P})

In the back of an old badger set laid a kit. Abandoned and cold as the cool Autumn wind swirled around inside. Their pitiful mews filled the den and the area around. It was shivering bad. It's fur still wet and the smell of birth was definitely still around. Not even old enough to eat prey or mush it was sure to die soon.

Wrenwhisker had just caught a rabbit within the outskirts whenever she heard the cries of a tiny kit. The tabby´s long, pointed ears perked up, her amber hues flicking in the direction that the wailing was coming from.

Shouldering her way through the undergrowth and deeper into the outskirts, the former WindClanner found where the tiny - clearly just born - kit lay. Her ears lay flat against her head. What kind of mother would abandon their kit after birth?

A frown appearing on her face, Wrenwhisker padded over to the kit and gently curled herself around it. The lithe light brown tabby began to wash its fur backward to warm it up and dry it off. After she was sure that the kitten was warm, Wrenwhisker took a bite of her rabbit and chewed it up. She spat it out just in front of the kit.

´´Try to lap at it,´´ Wrenwhisker whispered softly, brushing her maw against the kit´s ears. ´´It´s very good. You´ll like it.´´

* The little Tom squirmed when a warmth curled around him. His mews lessened as he was warming up. His little ears were barely able to hear anything. It's stomach growled and when Wren tried to get him to eat the mush it turned away from it and tried to nurse. *

As the little tom turned to the she-cat´s belly, Wrenwhisker gently nudged his muzzle in the direction of the chewed-up rabbit. ´´I don´t have any milk, little one,´´ The lithe tabby mewed softly. ´´That´s why I need you to try the rabbit.´´

She glanced at the tomkit´s dark brown tabby pelt. ´´I think I will call you....Falcon. That´s perfect.´´

* His muzzle touched the mush and he gave a small hiss. He was starving, but it was obvious he wasn't touching the mush. His stomach rumbled again, but again he refused to eat the mush. He tried to nurse from Wren again. *

Wrenwhisker frowned. She gently nudged Falcon towards the rabbit mush again. ´´Like this,´´ She mewed, bending her head and lapping at the mush once.

* He refused and mewed in hunger. He clearly wasn't interested. He kept on trying to nurse from Wren. In the distance a large thing could be heard padding through the undergrowth. It was definitely a cat. *
