Like the tripod got the reasoning for the orders but..... Well Weepingwillow got a Look for them. 1. Mudhound was a hornet, sick or not they outranked even if they didnt pull that. 2. Mudhound had just tried to get up to kill the rats and couldnt manage it, weak from illness. If they could stand they'dve just killed the rats there and dealt with the issue, running was not an option.

Thats why the plan was to curl around the kittens (who were equally not really capable of running right now) and was planning to curl around them to be a great furry wall. Soooooo they were not gonna run and risk endangering the kits but would watch over Weepingwillows Cinderkit, and so nodded at the molly as they tucked the kittens close.

They had Quackkit (loved that name), Mantiskit, Olivekit and Cinderkit, after quickly leaning over to grab the sleeping kit. Mitekit wasnt coming close though which was bad.
So, tucking Quackkit, Mantiskit, Olivekit, and Cinderkit close to their belly, trapping them there with a large fluffy tail and curling around them using the wall and their body to create a little fort for the kittens the hornet reassured them with a soft "You guys are so cute, stay right here in fort muddy where the rats cant get you ok and after its gone I can tell you a story!" before turning their head over their shoulder to call out to Weepingwillow.


"Mitekit! Get over to me its not safe! Weepingwillow, if you can push her closer I can grab! And help Brindlepaw get away, quickly!"
Oof their throat hurt talking so urgently but missing kits in a crisis was an issue around rats that could literally kit a kit in a single bite. Hell the rats were the size of some of the kits on their own, in a group it'd be easy.

The main issue was that there just wasnt enough non sick cats here to defeat them, everyone limp and floppy as even the successful killers in Mudhound, Weepingwillow, Goldenpaw and Brindlepaw were rapidly tapped out after that little effort. They needed a non sicky, like say the deputy who'd wandered out of the sick camp to tend to some newcomers and hadnt seemed to notice the commotion so far. Well Mudhound could certainly get his attention.

Heaving in a congested breath the hornet did their tried and true impression of a foghorn.

"SPIDERTHROAT THERE'S EVIL RATS THAT ARE KILLING US!! HEEEEEEEEEELLLP!!! KILL IT!!!"

If the other new fresher cats of Carrioncaller, Raccoontail, Hollowpaw, and Pinepaw happened to hear and also come help? That'd be nice. That'd totally tapped out the hornet though, now they were coughing like mad.

His fur stood on end. Only Mudhound could shout that loud. Most of the time it was for meaningless things, but this time around, with a raspy rough voice. Whipping his head around, Spiderthroat attempted to see what exactly the fear was about. Ratking??? Was that like that gross squirell almalgamation but with rats? Oh that's awful to think about.

As the deputy made his way towards the...now pancake of a ratking. He simply looked down at the flat gross...very squashed former threat, he looked up at Mudhound, than over to Wolfhive. They were both sick, and they noticed faster than he himself had. He was the one who wasn't sick. (He'd thank Asterdance later.), and yet in this instance he was useless.

"All of you go get rest. I'm sorry I didn't jump in soon enough, and made you over exert yourselves. Wolfhive, go rest, cough once if you need help gettin to the den." he said. There was no tilt of amusement in his voice, none of the joking aspect. Just soft, which was unusual for the rather abrasive tom.

"Weepingwillow. Make sure all the kits are okay, as well as any apprentices. Warriors, if you're hurt go say hi to our newest members which now includes Hollowpaw. Chat with him if you're needin help. I'm the overflow step in if Hollowpaw needs it."

He vaguely felt himself being dragged away, not conscious, just... kinda able to feel. It was weird. Once in the medicine den, his body limply slid onto a nest. Would he wake up? He wasn't sure.

Later that day, he woke up in the medicine den, a throbbing pain in his neck. It was everywhere, actually, but mostly in his neck. He rolled over, but had to stop midway through because it felt like his muscles were on FIRE. He hated it. Weakly, he began to speak. "Hollowpaw?" The word just barely escaped his mouth. He felt the need to cough, but he knew that would make his neck burn. So he just cleared his throat, tiny "coughs" at a time.

Snowpaw had woken up feeling a little sick a day ago, and she thought it was nothing. But now today she feels more sick. So she had to come here. She walked over to an empty patch of moss, lacking her usual bounce, and sat down with a cough. She'd never been sick before. It felt weird. Also, she noticed that some of the cats looked bloody, which made her curious. She wanted to go up to a clanmate and ask, but it seemed as if all her energy was drained. Which was weird. She usually had so much energy, it was hard to keep still. But everything's all right! She thought cheerfully. She had no doubt the medicine cats would find a cure. After all, they know all sorts of cool stuff! Yup, she would not let a little sickness dampen her mood.
A wave of exhaustion rolled over her, and she closed her eyes, instantly asleep.

Evil rat. Rat evil. Quackkit slowly, very very slowly wobbled towards the dead rat bodies. Kick. Kick. Slap. Yup. They were dead! (Does this mean they could be eaten? They were all already sick anyways) Quackkit would continuesly sat there, smacking the already dead rat body until she got bored or tired. She couldn't do it while standing since it took too much energy. This whole thing was a waste of energy and the rats were basically as bug as her. But Quackkit wanted to put salt on the wound.

Olivekit - ThunderCan kit (5 moons)

The kit perked up. Her pupils grew to slits as she warily eyed the rat that was getting uncomfortably close to the others. 'I must do something' she thought. Her brain was mushy because of the sickness, so she wasn't thinking rationally. But in her mind, the only option was to attack. Looking back, she should have just told Mudhound, but not right then. Before she could reconsider, her body launched her onto the rat. She tumbled on top of it. She thrashed around. She knew she couldn't defeat it. Her reflexes weren't that good, because she was sick. She wasn't trained in how to fight. And the rat was larger than her; she was a small kit, even at 5 moons. Her teeth sank into its scruff, but it threw her off. 'She was just trying to draw attention to the rat, not kill it' she reminded herself. She hoped Weepingwillow would notice. She hoped Mudhound would notice. As the rat loomed over her, there was only one thought on her mind. 'I want to go home'.

Weepingwillow gasped, trying to grab Olivekit but they got thrown, seeing a rat about to bite the poor sick, and foolish kit. Weepingwillow threw herself inbetween, growling the pain away as she was bit, her forearm trickling blood as she picked up Olivekit, placing the kit swiftly next to Mudhound. "Everything is ok Olivekit, do not ever, ever do something so foolish again ok? You could've gotten hurt." Weeping willow meowed, her mew filled with worry as she licked the kits ears and checked her for wounds, "Don't go away again ok? I don't want you to get hurt." she mewed softly, nuzzling the kit softly and turning back to the rats, she saw one rat, it's teeth stained with her blood as her shoulder bled slowly.
