Rosehawk´s eyes flashed with alarm at Cricketpaw´s mention of a rat. Opening her jaws to taste the air, the Bengal found out for herself that her apprentice had been correct.

´´That is the scent of a rat, correct,´´ She mewed to Cricketpaw, her ears twitching. Rosehawk rolled her shoulders. ´´A rat mixed with crowfood. It must be dead, so let´s go try to find it. I want to get it out of our territory.´´ This would have to be reported to Stormstar.

The young apprentice wrinkled her nose.
"Crowfood, gross." but she complied and wandered around aimlessly trying to find a trail.

She scented more of it collecting near a rock, and found small paw marks, the scent trail led away and off towards a small gathering of thin brush.

"I think that's where it died."

[ Agatha Kitty has been activated. ]

Following Cricketpaw, Rosehawk came to a stop beside her apprentice. She wrinkled her nose in disgust at the smell that hit her scent glands. The rat had died here, all right. ´´Find me a stick,´´ She instructed Cricketpaw, digging a small, deep hole in the ground.

You didn't have to ask her twice. The tabby nodded, backing away from the nauseous smell of the rotting rat. Heading to the edge of the sand, wincing as the grains dug into her paw pads, she grateful walked into the cool grass and towards the trees.

A few twigs we're littered here and there, but none big or strong enough, she she resorted to breaking one off of a bush, which she regretted, the sick had to be twisted, and she rolled and tugged at it. Finally it came off with a long tail of back hanging off it.

Breathing one breath of clean sea air, she padded over to Rosehawk and dropped the stick.

"Here." it came out sounding more like "hair" because her jaw ached from the arduous task of getting a stick. But she watched, her tail flicking from side to side as she observed the rat, and all of its gross rotting form.

Yeah, I really hope I can purge that image from my mind. Her nose wrinkled in disgust.

"Gross."

Gullstrike began purring as he and Goldenwing methodically worked their way through the pebble-and-shell pile. He eyed the she-cat's find thoughtfully. "I've always thought it was interesting how things like that form -- it could be from the twolegs -- but what if it wasn't? How in StarClan did a transparent rock come about?" He fished a little conch-looking shell out of the pile's edge.

"I mean, it makes me feel like part of a bigger thing, you know?" Gullstrike nodded back to where their prey was buried. "What if the fish had families? Or that crab?" His dew claw was still throbbing. He'd have to go to the medicine den to see if it was broken. He didn't think the skin was torn. "Are we the only kind of animals that have a StarClan?" He glanced at Goldenwing, then shrugged. "Or whatever. Just rambling." He swiped the little shell to his small pile of things.

@Sageflower0714 gullstrike is feeling spiritual lmao. and it's fine! same goes for you -- i just started a new job and have been going to bed or otherwise not looking at my computer pretty much as soon as i get home, so if too much time passes feel free to bump!

Cascadingrapids had waited a good little while longer, but still no sign of Sneezepaw.
"Mmmm doesn't look like it." She states as her patience finally runs out "Let's get going."

And with that, she leads the apprentice that actually had shown up to Lionsbeach.

Feeling bad for leaving Sneezepaw he looked around real quick to make sure they weren't just running a lot behind. he looked at Cascadingrapid as she began walking out of camp. He knew this was what they had to do, but guilt ran through. Jaggedpaw followed behind. Guilt slowly drifted away and instead excitement ran through him. His first trip to Lionsbeach. He had heard about the area from clanmates, but he hadn't been there himself. He was always excited to see something new.
