Yay. It was bait of all things. It sincerely doubted it was one of the few cats who knew how to climb, it was such a basic skill, but maybe this was added humiliation for not reporting in that one patrol. (Safe to say teeth had remnants of some ,,salty feelings regarding that.) (being gutskit was the worse.)

The black tabby trotted up towards its patrol mates, huge fluffy tail swishing back and forth. "M'here, " Gutspaw announced, a hint of grogginess in its voice. At least being bait shouldn't be too difficult or somethin'. Rats were freaks, but they weren't dog-sized at least.

The Commander crept out from the shadows having been listening to the chaos silently. Sitting towards the back of the group, Hawkbite let lazy eyes settle on Dawnstar before sweeping across the gathered group of cats. There wasn't as many as he hoped for. What were they supposed to do if the camp suddenly got attacked? Were these really the only cats that'd show up and defend it? Amazing.

He'd remain silent, waiting for orders if Dawnstar gave them. She was entrusting the Enforcers to lead the patrols, which was good. They were at least showing -- the few they had left at least. He'd have to fix that soon. There had to be others to fill these spots.

´´Tuftedtusk, wait!´´ Pondpaw called out, haring over to her mentor and headbutting him gently on the shoulder. ´´Be careful,´´ She mewed, river-blue hues flicking up to the Enforcer´s own blue eyes. ´´Please.´´

Giving Tuftedtusk one last, pleading look, Pondpaw made her way back to her own patrol. The ambush patrol. The blue-gray mackerel tabby followed Dawnstar, the muscles rippling beneath her pelt.

Ah poop. He was too late. Darkfall had been in the midst of doing something when Dawnstar called the clan (note: his rper was busy), and thus missed his opportunity to end up in the initial group of patrols. Well, there was still a chance for him to go out, after all – though he was risking drawing Dawnstar’s ire with his showing up late. Oh well, surely it would work out just fine.

As the Queen of Mean finished dividing the groups, Darkfall padded up to the leader and dipped his head in acknowledgment. He hadn’t gone out of his way to address the leader recently, not since informing her of his former mate’s death, but now was as good a time as any. He’d been keeping a low profile as of late, keeping to himself, and avoiding drawing unnecessary attention – something that Dawnstar undoubtedly had taken notice of, but now? Now he was prepared once again to step up and regain his former prestige that he had once held. Not to mention, he didn’t want to be stuck in the camp because of silly rules anymore. He could handle himself, why would he need to worry about going out alone? Of course, he thought the same of Lostspark, but he was still confident that she had been attacked and/or murdered by the two brothers whose scent intermingled with her own at The Mire.

”Dawnstar,” The massive black tabby called to the similarly large queen ”Should you need an extra set of paws, I am here and ready for whatever is needed.” Of course, it was a given that he should be ready and able to answer the leader’s call at any given point, but he liked the idea of letting her know anyways. He had a lot going on mentally, and things he needed to sort out, but something like this would be the perfect opportunity to take his mind off of the troubles that had been plaguing him for the last couple of moons.

Ambush patrol? Sounded fine to Shrewstep, because at this point he was fairly certain trying to do anything too crazy would end in a bad, bad situation for him. Mostly because his wounds were still rather sore, and also because he was sort of generally confused right now. That fight had been a horrid embarrassment, and while Foggymask didn't seem to have benefitted from it, that was a small comfort.

Birdpaw's distant gaze focused when Dawnstar called her name, scanning the crowd for the familiar pelts of her patrol mates. Once she spotted them, Birdpaw padded over and stopped just behind the group, eyes dull as she waited for them to move out. She was an excellent hunter, and while she preferred to keep her kills clean, she could mess up some prey for this.

Cyan gaze narrowed as Quietpaw's name was called out alongside the rest of one of the main patrols. Extermination. Sounded...satisfying enough. It hinted that killing would be involved and that denied her the right to huff to having to put up with the extra work. Surely this mission would help her release all her pent up frustration. However, it did make her wonder why she had been chosen for a mildly important role..perhaps Grandmother saw her as reliable... nothing to complain about she supposed.

Without a word, the paw drifted towards her patrol leader, Tuftedtusk, who was already being all serious and acted like their lives depended on every action made. The temptation to roll her eyes was intense, yet Quietpaw managed to force herself to only give a brief nod of acknowledgement. Glancing at Dawnstar, she awaited a command to deploy from camp, impatience growing at an alarming rate.
