Emberkit sat patiently and quietly among the tall tree-trunk legs of Mistlewhisker, watching her siblings be rowdy with a displeased expression. Honestly, was he the only one with some sense?

Mother approached them, looking more irritable than usual. Emberkit knew it wasn't directed at him, so he let his siblings be chastised. The only one who could scold his siblings was his mother. And also him.

Emberkit followed Weepingkit and the others back to the den, glancing over his shoulder to ensure everyone was following.

Mistlewhisker watched Dawnstar approach with an amused glimmer in her eye, the kits bundled at her paws falling over one another to greet their mother. But Dawnstar was less than pleased with them, and made her displeasure clear. Houndkit immediately fled, Dawnstar chasing after him. Mistlewhisker held out a paw to gently halt Weepingkit's beeline for his brother, but Dawnstar managed to scruff him just in time. As the kits were ordered away, Mistlewhisker studied Weepingkit. "Misswhisker", he had called her. Hm. Mistlewhisker despised being called anything that wasn't her actual name or an honorific, but... this one wasn't too bad. She would allow it, for now. Mistlewhisker nodded at Dawnstar's wave, pushing herself to her paws and headed for the warrior's den.
