He was excited for his own ceremony, but it was taking too long. He wondered when it would be.

Heathernose winced slightly when Twilightstar listed her kits. Given how much pain her own kitting had been, even thinking about having that many kits in one sitting just...well it made her feel faint.

She looked at Hawk-kit when he asked his question. "During the chaos when the fires started, Ferretkit had been separated from us and wandered away from the nursery." She explained. "Your father tried to retrieve him, and they both got in trouble." She narrowed her eyes as she looked at her litter, though she wasn't angry her tone and gaze became serious and urgent. "This is why it's so important to listen to me when I tell you something. Ferretkit could've...gotten lost and taken Lionscar with him." She wasn't quite ready to discuss death with her kits yet, although that's the worst fear in every mother's mind when it comes to their kits and mate she figured.

Daffodilpaw frowned and bowed her head in solemn solidarity with her young, fallen clanmate. "May StarClan light your path, Flowerblossom..." She murmured. Blinking as she looked up, a fresh bright smile filled her face. So many new kits!

Fleetpaw watched Littlepaw and Dustbunny greet each other. He crouched low, his paws tucked under him. Did this mean that...Dustbunny wouldn't be able to teach him some tunneling techniques? That was probably true. Her primary focus would be on her own assigned apprentice. That only made sense. He couldn't help smiling at the new kits, kits were awesome. Their little voices and bright, fearless, curious eyes. He rested his chin his paws briefly and closed his eyes in a short prayer for Flowerblossom before lifting his head back up. I hope you're in no more pain, Flowerblossom.

Jasminekit blinked up at her mother as she tumbled out of the den. She blinked in surprise when Twilightstar announced her own name. She had done nothing to earn recognition! Looking up at Leopardsong with confusion, she let out a tiny mew to get her mother's attention. "Mama, why did Madame Twilightstar call our names? Did we do something wrong?" She asked in her tiny voice, eyes wide with despair.

Burnetpaw sat on the edge of the crowd, listening to the Clan announcements with a carefully schooled expression on her face. At the news of Lichenshock's promotion she lifted her muzzle, allowing a cheer to escape from her lips along with the rest of her Clanmates, "Lichenshock!" She hadn't known the apprentice when they had shared a den, so not much emotion was spared for their warrior ceremony. The next news, however, did make a carefully disguised pang of pain shoot through her heart.

Twistedpaw had never been a cat that she was particularly close to, but the introverted molly had been someone she found interesting. She had sometimes considered shattering her mask of apathy to attempt to make friends with her or some of the other apprentices but had eventually decided that she was content in her bubble of solitude. Perhaps she regretted that choice a little now.

The listing off of kits made her want to bury her head in the ground. Did WindClan really need more of those squirmy little brats running around, and so many at that? To her kits were just loud and annoying, and young apprentices weren't much better. They really only stopped being insufferable when they got to 8 moons and realised they weren't the first apprentice to ever do anything. Watching the rest of the meeting with an aloof, glassy eyed expression, she waited to be dismissed.

Lichenshock.

The name washes over WindClan's newest warrior with a shiver of yes. Her new name... god, she could cry right now (and if there are already tears in the corners of her eyes, well, she won't be the one acknowledging them).

"Thank you," she whispers to her leader, accepting the customary gesture with a relieved, joyous purr there is nothing she can do to prevent. As Twilightstar leads the chanting of her name, Lichenshock is overcome with pride - in herself, in her clan, and she glances to the sky, wondering if Sleethound and if Wolffang were watching her. She wonders if Bravebird is watching her. But she knows Crowtooth is watching, so she turns her half blind gaze in the deputy's direction, and grins. Is he proud of her? Rabbitpaw sits with him, and she extends the friendly grin to him as well. They're by no means close, but he had been Crowtooth's apprentice before Lightningstorm, and anyone who both the deputy and the medicine cat approve of is someone Lichenshock is more than happy being friendly to.

There's more announcements to be had, though, and the mood of the meeting quickly shifts with the announcement of Twistedpaw- Featherblossom's - death. Her face contorts with grief. She'd hoped that her and Featherblossom might become better friends, she really admired the courageous molly... now there would be no more chances. The announcement of new kits follows the order to stay away from the back of Twilight Falls, and the order to turn away any outsiders by the territory.

The idea of turning someone in need away makes the new warrior shift uncomfortably, but... WindClan comes first. That done with, the meeting comes to a close. Lichenshock remains where she is, though, taking the final moments in.

Hawkkit nodded, pressing against his mother as she hesitated. What's wrong, mama? He mewed, his bright amber gaze widening as he stared at her.

I dunno. Fallenpaw meowed, tilting her head. I've only just become one today. She caught the white of Maggotpaw's pelt and stared. I don't think you want to be an apprentice just yet. She shuddered, remembering Maggotpaw's story about the warriors eating the apprentices.

Kindness was a good thing. Until it endangered the safety and well being of your Clanmates. And broke rules. Or so Bouncepaw supposed. He didn't have a problem with Twilightstar's decisions, he simply wondered why there happened to be so many such cats in Windclan. Probably just a coincidence, but it was curious.

He yowls out Lichenshock's name, congratulating the new warrior. Soon, if would be he and Daffodilpaw's turn, and he couldn't wait for that day to come.

Power Card: Cold Gust

Yanno for all his experience and time in windclan this was his first apprentice seen to warrior? Such was just part of clan life, cats came and disappeared faster then the seasons changed but still. Even if he'd only finished the job this was one well done and the tom felt proud to do it.


His apprentice was a warrior now and she was a great one already. He wasnt sure he'd ever been prouder.


But with gain came loss it seemed, and the clan had lost a beloved member. Following her brother, Twistedpaw, now Featherblossom was dead and the clan was less for it. But she too deserved her warriors name and Crowtooth would chant it in his absence. If Crowtooth still chanted louder for Lichenshock though.... It could be understood.


"LICHENSHOCK! Featherblossom! Lichenshock! Featherblossom!"
The skunk striped tom returned Lichenshocks beaming smile with a crooked grin of his own, letting out a rough purr of joy as he gamely called out "Good luck on yer vigil tonight wit' the weather startin' ta get cold!" tail flicking pleased.


The other announcements were typical fare. An exile Crowtooth was pleased about because god Silverfur was an issue even before she left. An ungodly amount of births that still scared the deputy and confused Crowtooth on how he missed that Twilightstar was pregnant. Probably willful denial if he was honest, but also WHO WAS THE DAD!?!?! That was something to interrogate Leechscar on later, for now windclans incoming winter difficulties were of concern.



As heartless as turning away kits was windclan had borderline too many as is and leaf bare was coming fast. Food would become tight and the clan would be hard pressed to support their own, much less extras.
At times like this the harshness of clan life was most start, but it was needed for survival.


That thought alone was enough to prompt Crowtooth to tuck Rabbitpaw closer.

Leechscar looked forward to working with him, well that was a pleasant surprise. He’d been apprehensive at first but felt some of it melt away as Leechscar touched nose with his own. Making his way over to sit by his side, he smiled cheerily as he noticed mama. Shouting out to Leopardsong as he passed from a distance with pride, ”MAMA! I DID IT!” Confidence for once seeping into his speech.

After he made sure that mama knew he turned to Leechscar, lowering his haunches. ”I’ll be s..sure to try my best with training, I'm excited to start.” Secretly hoping it would be sooner rather than later, but Leechscar did look sore on his feet.
