Coyotekit squeaked as tiny claws hit his face. Not even enough to break the skin, but he still hated it. He grunted as Jaggedkit dragged him. Windkit then showed up to help break up the fight, and two other kits giggled and watched. Realizing this wasn't a battle he was going to win, he stalked off to Mama's den to go snuggle with her.

egretkit sits at the mouth of the nursery, blue eyes glancing around the clearing. the sun is high in the sky, shining down on the camp. yet, weirdly enough, when she went out there earlier, it was cold! like, what the heck! she's heard a few big cats talking about it being colder outside, and apparently, it's called leaf-foool. or something simialr to that..she can't quite remember. it's certainly chilly, and her nose and pads got all cold out there after a few minutes!

so, she thinks she'll stay in the nursery for now – just until her paws warm back up. luckily, in the safety of the nursery, it's very warm and cozy. albeit, a tad bit boring, with nobody to play with. a lot of her denmates liked to sleep or just exist! nothing wrong with either of those, of course, she likes to sleep too, with firesis and her brothers and all the other kits.

luckily, there's a cure to her boredom! spotting movement out of the corner of her eye, egretkit gasps at the sight of...a bug!! it's very odd looking and, no offense to the bug, a little..ugly. but that's okay, it's still super cool! hopping up with a gigantic grin, egretkit outstretches a paw to poke at the bug - an earwig, unbeknownst to her. unfortunately, the earwig seems to not like being poked and prodded, and it pinches the kits paw with its pincers. bwuh!!

"OHWWOOW!" the tabby shrieks, jumping back with a large frown, eyes wide as saucers. she holds her paw close to her chest, blinking away a few tears. there was no real injury, of course. "it bited..no, it bit me!! bad mister bug!!" she scolds, shaking her head in disappointment.

Whirlkit ran up to the other kit. "Hi-I'm-Whirlkit-who-are-you-I'm-bored-let's-play!" The words were all said rushed into a single sentence. She sat down, beaming at the other cat.

"No more fighting? Aw..." Whistlekit meows, disappointed. She'd really been looking forward to watching other cats get into mischief. And then maybe tell on the queens.

She glances curiously at the other kits, Whirlkit and Skykit who were had also been watching the commotion. "Did you see Coyotekit give up? I bet he's running back to his mama," She meows in a quiet but friendly, gossipy tone, "I'm Whistlekit!"

Whistlekit ignores Windkit who had attempted to smooth out the argument. How boring! They should have at least waited until the show was over to squeak it all to the queens. Sedgekit, on the other hand, looks at the kit appreciatively. He agreed. Fighting was bad. He eyes his sister from across the nursery, but then quickly loses interest and goes back to sleep.

Patchkit looked around the space of the nursery, silently fluttering his hazy green eyes to each of the cats inside. Some were playing with a mossball and wrestling, and some were laying in nests, and some of the youngest were nursing off of their mothers still. It was an interesting study when you slowed down enough to look at all of the details like Patchkit did, after all you can’t pretend well if you don’t know what you are pretending to be. You would get everything wonky, and then no one will believe you. Patchkit didn’t know how everyone else was so good at finding a single role and committing to it without any second thoughts and he envied them for it.

Patchkit was forced to change roles to better fit the scene, and that was that. Why coudn’t Patchkit have his own character, so that he wasn’t forced to pretend so much? Or were the others so good at pretending that they forgot they were pretending at all? It makes a cat wonder, and it makes Patchkit wonder how he could become that good. Though for now, he wasn’t, so he just watched and hoped that by watching he would one day be that good. Sometimes he was tired of pretending.

The snow-white kit was ripped from her peaceful nap by the sudden, booming shout in her ear. She flinched, her small body tensing as her sister’s voice rang through her, pulling her from the warmth of sleep into the confusing blur of the waking world. Blinking her pale blue eyes, she tried to make sense of her surroundings, though her poor vision left everything muddled and unclear. For a moment, she just sat there, her tiny heart racing, ears twitching as she struggled to process what was happening. Skykit’s energy was almost overwhelming, especially when Magnoliakit had just been drifting in her own quiet world. She stretched out her paws, yawning softly before turning her head toward the sound of Skykit’s voice. “W-What…?” she murmured, her voice still thick with grogginess. The question lingered in the air, and she realized Skykit was waiting for an answer. “I don’t know… what do you wanna do?” Magnoliakit asked, her tone uncertain but trying to match her sister’s enthusiasm. Though her vision couldn’t help her figure out what Skykit was planning or where she was located, she could feel her sister’s excitement and knew whatever it was, it was bound to be something energetic and bold.
