Well, here it is! The plot you've all been waiting for! (Most of y'all probably don't even know what the hell this is about)
So I've got a neat plot for my favourite ShadowClan boy, Silentpaw! I'm going to go straight into the plot!
Now, before I start you can go to Silentpaw's Carrd here to get an idea of who he is! Alright now, to the plot!
So, Silentpaw, [FRIEND 1] and [FRIEND 2] will be out in the territory, after [FRIEND 1 or 2] convinces all three of them to have some quality time together. (One of them would have to be a warrior!!!)
And they're just hanging around, probably catching a few prey here and then to provide for the Clan so it doesn't seem like they were just playing around, when suddenly, an owl. It goes straight for [FRIEND 1], and it looks like it's out for blood. Silentpaw instantly leaps in the way, but not before the owl does some significant damage to [FRIEND 1]. SIlentpaw then does his best to fend off the owl, and [FRIEND 2] gets the perfect idea of drawing the owl away from Silentpaw to save him. And save him they did.
Getting the owl's attention ultimately proved to be worthless, because now, the owl is focused on [FRIEND 2]. Despite [FRIEND 2]'s efforts to fight the owl, they die. (They don't have to instantly die, they and Silentpaw can both fight the owl at the same time, or the friend can lure the owl far from Silentpaw, even Friend 1 can join in, etc. Depends on the roleplayer(s)!)
Silentpaw, of course, is not going to let that slide. He continues to fight the owl until his injuries are too great, but he manages to chase the owl off. Not kill it, but scare it enough to make it fly away.
Of course, eventually [FRIEND 1] and Silentpaw is found unconscious and [FRIEND 2]'s body is found. Whoops
Silentpaw will begin to blame himself for [FRIEND 1]'s injuries and [FRIEND 2]'s death, seeing himself as worthless and unworthy of being a warrior. He will spirl into a pit of darkness (and depression), with nobody to help.
Until...
Alrighty, toss me your cats! This is not first come first serve, as this plot will mean a lot to me (And hopefully to you, too!). Make your "application" stand out! And I NEED you to be active, please! If you do not think you can keep the character active for long, then I don't suggest applying ^^
I will be closing the finder sometime mid-october or early november, depending on the situation.
Once I choose the two cats for the plot, I'd like for them and Silentpaw to have several interactions together for a slow burn friendship plot. (No romance,,, unless,,) This is because I'd like for all three of them to be really close for the dramatic plot ^^
If you don't have a cat that might fit for the two friends, but want to be involved, feel free to toss me a short form or application for the cats that would be finding their bodies in the territory ^^ Or anything else! DM/VM for more information on these and how you can be involved :]
This plot will be,,, a MAJOR plot, for me at least, and in Silentpaw's life as well. Hopefully this is a big plot for your character as well :]

”My name? Ahaha- no, it doesn’t mean anything. Parents will name you anything these days.”
. . .
“Ha. Haha. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, friend. I’m not ‘withering’ away or anything anytime soon. Alright? I won’t wither.”

WITHERPAW
for FRIEND 1 (other option, finds the bodies)
+ Reckless Abandon +
Witherpaw isn’t the type to truly be hurt. A bold-faced lie. He does what he wants, how he wants it - and he wants loud. He wants grand. To protect everything he knows so that nobody else has to. Witherpaw doesn’t care what cats think. Witherpaw doesn’t care how he ends up. He will throw himself at anything and everything with all he has without a second or first thought. And, yes- the whole clan has to deal with him inviting himself into their lives, because he will inevitably he will willingly mark his path leave his mark in scratch marks on the world’s wood. through his own scratched out face.
”Hey, buddy! Looking a little on your lonesome there. Don’t you worry- I’ll be your company.”
Truthfully, Witherpaw is fiercely loyal to anyone that is his people - his clanmates, his family, friends… and being fiercely loyal, for Witherpaw, means that he cares deeply for them all, even while most end up thinking he’s just a cat with bees in his brain due to his impulsive personality. Of course, Silentpaw is automatically a cat, among so many others, that Witherpaw keeps an eye out for. How this permanently manifests for the ginger cat is into an overly friendly nature, Witherpaw slotting himself sternly beside every clanmate, taking any angry blows with an unmoving grin. Coldness his only response to strangers until they prove their worth and he flips at the drop of a feather.
And when a secretly watchful Witherpaw sees Silentpaw… apparently never talking to a soul - or, when he does, speaking in a blunt tone that is not telling of a happy apprentice - one too many times, Witherpaw takes it upon himself to check up on him in the usual way: padding up to Silentpaw like they had been friends for moons. And, sure, maybe Silentpaw looks at him with contempt, maybe Silentpaw snaps a few painful remarks, but he… doesn’t do much more than that. He mostly just stays quiet after the first couple times, even all while Witherpaw bothers him with jokes and little nudges. And Witherpaw has had much worse reprimands thrown his way, yeah? Right there, past that wall of Silentpaw’s… he can tell that Silentpaw is listening- and Witherpaw knows, believes that that silence is not a shallow one. So, Witherpaw sticks around to keep a buddy company.
”What are you doing here?
“…You like him, do you? Me too. Sassy Silent here talks my ears off - passes the time, yeah?
“Ahaha, yeah. Looks like we’re friends, new pal.”
”Ah, okay. We don’t gotta talk. But you’re still not gonna lose me, buddy.”
Witherpaw is the opposite of what Silentpaw enjoys: loud, unnecessary, reckless, unnecessary- too much for him to bother understanding, not when he would never interact with him in a million moons!… until the day Witherpaw takes it upon himself to sidle up to him with a stupid smile and an annoying amount of touching. But at least it isn’t as bad as he might’ve thought this situation would be - for some reason, this apprentice, the one that gets chewed out every other sunrise for acting idiotic, the one that Silentpaw had clocked as having an irritatingly talkative and aggressive personality, doesn’t meaninglessly yap on like a dog about something or other. Witherpaw pipes up every once in a while with a small icebreaker of a joke, a little unobtrusive comment on something he’d noticed about Silentpaw, but… doesn’t push for a reply, just falling silent and… sitting there with him. Weirdly. Oddly. No matter what little tests Silentpaw gives him, the apprentice just brushes it off and… and keeps… coming back. And Silentpaw can’t help but become more put off and suspicious of it, even while he, in all honesty, becomes used to Witherpaw’s intrusions.
He’d thought that this type of cat was simple, easy to understand. No. Nowadays, Silentpaw finds much too much of his alone time taken up by not one, but two cats. Which… for some reason, Silentpaw hasn’t complained very well over - or, clearly, at least not well enough. Silentpaw curses himself for it, curses himself for allowing some vacuous, inane cat like Witherpaw to stick to his side like a loyal dog to their twoleg, too. Silentpaw doesn’t like “dogs:” flashy in all the wrong places, never enough room for thought to do things in any easier way that minimizes danger or damages. It’s hard to not see that kind of incompetence as detrimental enough to make the cat a hazard to be around- well, let’s drop the pretense, that is undoubtedly describing Witherpaw at his finest, Silentpaw believes. And yet… Silentpaw isn’t one to not pay attention, isn’t one to not listen. That brash nature of Witherpaw’s is certainly there, but there’s another piece to the apprentice’s puzzle lurking beneath it… that same piece that must’ve made Witherpaw approach the unwilling Silentpaw in the first place. If Silentpaw lets this go on just another day longer, he thinks he might be able to find it - might be able to understand why Witherpaw cared enough to enter his hushed world and stay.
“Now let me tell you a story… about a little cat named Quiet and a big, strong cat named Wilt… What? I’m still thinking of your name, pal! I wouldn’t forget you.”
Witherpaw doesn’t make many friends. Is that surprising? It’s not like every cat hates him - there are plenty of cats in the clan that are super sweet, plenty of understanding cats that love him. But, in ironic contrast to his friendly persona, Witherpaw reflexively keeps his distance. A cat can only handle so much care in his heart, and, on top of his shenanigans, it would be a big ask to give him cats that he keeps even more of a protective gaze over than he already does.
But Silentpaw weasels in, an unknowing little spider skittering through the loophole in Witherpaw’s nature. Silentpaw is what happens when Witherpaw’s “little ways of caring for cats” becomes “this cat needs some company,” becomes “this cat needs a friend, and nobody else will be one.” And, oh no- once things have picked up, in comes a cat that will be Silentpaw’s friend - except Witherpaw slips up and stays anyway, letting himself have that extra care and then some more, letting his heart fill just a little more than he’d planned because it hasn’t done him any wrong yet. He wants, even more than before - of course even more - to be there to make sure that Silentpaw and this cat will continue on being happier than they had been before. That should’ve been a good idea. It should’ve been fine.
Witherpaw gets a little too excited as they bond more. He, maybe the other friend, brings up the amazing idea of simply… going out of camp and doing whatever they want. Well, Witherpaw isn’t unfamiliar with that, and he’s all for it. He wasn’t thinking, he never is.
Down the owl comes, and so does everything else go. Witherpaw doesn’t think fast enough, again, doesn’t try to hurt the owl as much as he instinctively flails when the owl lifts him off the ground. Maybe things would have ended differently if he’d tried a little harder. In comes Silentpaw, and Witherpaw is let go, temporarily blinded from stung eyes due to the flurry of claws and feathers. In a hopeful moment of teamwork, their friend angers the owl and draws it away, and both Silentpaw and Witherpaw let themself have a moment to breathe to make sure that Witherpaw was fine. Everything blurs quickly, and what must be mistakes pile up, and then… down their friend drops.
After everything, not only will Silentpaw be destroyed by the tragedy, but so will Witherpaw be; after all, even unbeknownst to himself, his only want was to protect everyone he loved… and, just like Silentpaw, he, being the first one with the first opportunity to scratch and bite that monstrous thing, had failed to save someone as important as a friend. Witherpaw wouldn’t blame Silentpaw, but due to their own issues in the aftermath, Witherpaw cannot lend Silentpaw a shoulder to lean on anymore, and they likely drift apart as their own ways of reacting to their grief keep their minds busy.
Witherpaw, for his part, becomes more erratic. He had been reckless before, yes, but not all too irresponsibly; now, however, he starts to act out. To Silentpaw’s increasing dismay, Witherpaw throws himself into sparring and battles and starts breaking rules and orders just to get out and do something, because he just hadn’t done enough even when he had tried to be more, he has to do more, more. Silentpaw can’t possibly ignore the growing number of scars and injuries littering his old friend’s body, layering over the one’s he’d caused, layering over his own guilty conscience- but would Silentpaw even say anything, or would he continue his silence and stew in his own shame?
