See, Firestorm was in the nursery, taking a much-needed break from the chaos that Windkit and Littlekit happened to get themselves into (and on occasion, Egretkit and the bitey ones), so when a meeting was called, she figured that she could listen to the contents from the entrance to the nursery without much worry
Well… she was very wrong.
Twinkles called Littlekit up. Now, as a mother, she was very excited that one of her kits was already becoming an apprentice. Or at least, she was until she laid her eyes on the youngest of the children she shared with Lightningstorm. Littlekit was… filthy. And that was putting it mildly. Her enitre front half was covered in dirt and grime and by the time the words “Little–” left her mouth, the kitten in question was already up front and center.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Now, she hadn’t had her mother there for her own ceremony, but she at least made an effort to look somewhat presentable (if she was remembering correctly, but she was Firestorm, future leader fo WindClan, so it would only make sense that she looked perfect during her apprentice ceremony). Littlekit on the other hand? She looked like “who did it and why?”, a total disaster, a catastrophy. Groaning inwardly, the orange queen forced a cheery smile on her face as she watched. Perhaps if she closed her eyes just a tad, she wouldn– no no, Littlekit still looked like a hot mess. Bleeding burning skies, couldn’t Twilightstar have warned her?
When the young calico was named Littlepaw, the proud mother was sure to cheer her name the loudest. ”LITTLEPAW!! LITTLEPAW!!! LITTLEPAW!!” She chanted, thumping her small paws upon the ground with vigor. Dustbunny was an interesting mentor choice, but surely Twinkles knew what she was doing there. The next thing that the one-eyed leader said made her blood run cold. It wasn’t the fact that Littlepaw wasn’t allowed to the upcoming gathering, nono, it was that her crimes against the freshkill pile was so blatantly announced. How could she!? Neither she-cat would ever be able to live down the shame that came with ruining the clan’s food now. This was awful!
Ever so briefly, she sent a betrayed glance towards Twilightstar that said something along the lines of “how could you!?”, before redirecting a harsher stare towards Littlepaw – which, of course, she was unable to hold because it quickly turned into a smile because of how excited she was to be able to go out of camp with the new apprentice.
Frostkit and Jaggedkit had left the nest. Okay, well, that wasn't so surprising. They were rockheads, anyway. Quite literally, considering their names. A singular blue eye opening as Frostkit nipped their littermate, Strawberrykit almost peeled her lips back in a warning snarl. Until she realized it was just her idiot brothers, and the kitten settled once more.
But thennnn they had to get out of the nest and leave. And Strawberrykit didn't like it when her siblings were out of her sight, so of course, the only viable answer was to get up after they'd gone, peer back at Dina and Seedling for a moment, before trotting after her nestmates. They couldn't have gone far. And ah, there they were. She didn't like that they were in the middle of the crowd somewhat, very likely to be trampled by some oaf of a warrior who wasn't looking, but she'd remain silent for now and keep content with just watching them from afar by her post by the Nursery entrance.
[ @Dolomedes - Frostkit / @burntToast - Jaggedkit | Strawberry is just keeping an eye on them lol, they don't need to see her ^^ ]
Songkit frowned at Hawk-kit’s proclamation. “But…we should stick together. Right?” She looked at Ferretkit, her eyes wide and saddened. “I…I wanna stay with Ferretkit!”

Frostkit was happy that his brother got up, at first he thought he was going to have to bite at his ears again, but nope! Frostkit followed Jaggedkit out into the crowd of cats that were all gathered beneath the big tree that the leader lady was speaking from. Strange, why do her words matter so much? Why do words in general matter so much? Frostkit gets along just fine without saying hardly anything, and he finds it much better this way. For some reason. That didn't really make sense now that he thought about it, but also, he doesn't care. Jaggedkit and his siblings understood mostly so what does it matter.
He flicked an ear as he caught the barely there movement out of the corner of his eye from where the nursery was. Frostkit turned his head to peer for a moment and spotted his sister, Strawberrykit, sitting outside of the threshold. Why doesn't she come out and join Jaggedkit and Frostkit? Maybe because she was waiting for Cardinal and Seeds? He tilted his head quizzically, before- focusing on his brother again, let Strawberrykit be weird. All of them are in some way.
Frostkit tried catching his brother's attention then, hopping forward and landing at Jaggedkit's side. He pricked his ears straight up and snapped his teeth, then looked up to the leader. Oh kits were being called up and Frostkit found himself listening out for his or his siblings' names but was only half disappointed to not hear any. This was a 'paw ceremony, right? 'paw? And then a big cat like dad? Warrior. Frostkit lightly headbutted his brother's shoulder, and once more, straighted his ears and snapped his teeth, before pointing with a paw at the kittens being named and then to himself and Jaggedkit with a tilt of his head.
Rabbitpaw

Rabbitpaw was surprised to be suddenly scooped up, but he didn't really fight the motion, especially as Crowtooth allowed Rabbitpaw to cuddle up to him which was more comforting then he thought it would be. It did make him miss Quailheart, but he chose to focus on Crowtooth right now. The blonde purred and pressed his nose to Crowtooth's chin once as the older tom spoke. "Yeah, a bit. Thank you." Then he nodded.
"Oh right, yeah, I've been learning a lot from Miss Lightningstorm. It's not tunneling but I like it so far. I think you've been a very good deputy, I understand that you're busy." Then Crowtooth mentioned his breathing and Miss Lightningstorm's treatment of it after the fire. Rabbitpaw understood why Miss Twilightstar had sent Crowtooth on one of the fire response teams, he is the clan deputy, and before that he was quite the amazing fury and tunneler, so it made sense, but also it made Rabbitpaw worry and slightly wonder if someone else could've gone instead. What if the smoke had even more adverse effects on Crowtooth. Rabbitpaw wouldn't be able to handle that.
He purred louder, trying to comfort his father figure even though Crowtooth seems to be pretty okay besides his breathing being harsher than normal. Though it was also a comfort to Rabbitpaw himself. He only quieted slightly when Miss Twilightstar called out and assigned the different apprentices again. 8 whole kits being named at this meeting it seemed and an apprentice, a stark difference to Rabbitpaw's own ceremony where only he was named before tragedy struck. "So many apprentices..." Rabbitpaw mumbled aloud as he looked to each of them as they were called up.
He was happy to see one, Littlepaw, being called to be Dustbunny's apprentice, that probably meant that the little thing wanted to be a tunneler. There were never too many tunnelers! Maybe when he's less busy, Rabbitpaw could offer more tunneler training to some of the apprentices and kits, try and inspire the craft to be an interest of future generations! Though that was weird to think about, Rabbitpaw didn't feel that old yet, but if he was accurate, he was about the age of when someone would averagely be named a warrior. Speaking of which, Lichenpaw was being called up!
Dustbunny
Dustbunny's ears shot up as she heard her name for an apprentice. Not just any apprentice, it was baby Littlepaw. She'd be lying if she said she wasn't all excited and honored to be chosen as her mentor. She and her sister had been a riot with their digging lessons. Dustbunny hadn't heard the greatest rumors regarding the kit, but she thought she and the kitten had gotten along during their little interaction.
Dustbunny hoped that she wasn't as much trouble as she heard she was, rumors were just that. The brown feline padded over with a bright smile on her maw. "Littlepaw, I'm overjoyed we can train together. I'm sure we'll have tons of fun." Dustbunny purred, lowering her head to touch noses with the new apprentice. The she-cat turned her head after she spotted Firestorm.
"You can sit with your mother if you'd like. I'll show you the territory after the meeting, " she promised the apprentice.
@SuspiciousMindz[Littlepaw]
Dreamlight
Her ears shot up when she heard her name called for an apprentice. It's been forever since she's had one, not that she blamed her mother for not giving her an apprentice. She wondered if the small skirmishes with the creature that scurried into their camp had proven she was ready.
Whatever the reason, she was quite glad for a new apprentice, even if it'd just end up causing her more heartache in the end. She was tired of being alone and isolating herself. The only three that might have looked her way were busy with their own lives. She was the only one stuck in this self-destructive loop, trying to claw her way out of this whole she had dug herself in. Yet was constantly sliding right back down to rock bottom. She had no motivation to get out of it. No reason to try to be better. She desperately needed a change. Dreamlight hoped Leopardpaw was a breath of fresh air, unlike her last apprentice. She couldn't deal with another apprentice who hated her existence.
Her ears rose as she got to her paws and padded toward the voice calling her name. It took some weaving around and the occasional bump into a flank or tail, but she was certain she had found the right apprentice. "Leopardpaw?" She blinked her sightless eye and leaned forward for a tentative sniff, accidentally bumping her nose into the apprentice's ear. "Ah, sorry. Um, you can sit with me if you'd like. We can go over what you need to finish training."
@Idiotic.Bean101 [Leopardpaw]
"It's okay, Songkit. If I get held back I'll just have to train harder than the rest." he said with a forced smile. He didn't want his sister to worry. He turned his gaze on to Hawk-kit. "Of course I do, but if my punishment is to be held back a moon. I have to obey Twilightstar's wishes." Ferretkit's gaze turned on to Fernkit who managed to slip past them and away, he was kind concerned for his brother. As the big brother it was his duty to set an example, and he failed already. He turned his gaze back to Songkit, the closes to him out of his siblings. His favorite sibling but he wouldn't flat out and admit it to his other siblings. "You shouldn't hold back for me, I'll catch up before you know it and we can gain our warrior names together." He purred as he brushed his muzzle against Songkits
Leopardsong quietly left the nursery and sat down right outside of it. She felt a little bad for nearly missing out on her sons' apprentice ceremonies. She knew both Cottonkit and Ashkit had their little worries with the change in rank, but she hoped that she had relieved them enough to calm down.
She knew Cottonkit and Ashkit would make great apprentices and that any cat would be lucky to train them. Plus, they could always visit her in the nursery if they're overwhelmed or want to see her. Whisperinghive didn't visit her often, but that one was grown up so he probably didn't need his mother as much. She was sure Skykit, Falconkit, Magnoliakit, and Jasminekit would all be the same.
She hasn't had much time to mourn the loss of one of her kits, Lilykit. She hadn't the faintest clue where Lilykit had gotten to, and she didn't want to make a fuss since kits go missing all the time and Leechscar was quite busy. Still, it hurt. She prayed to Wolffang that he was watching out for their kit wherever Lilykit was, and her kit be brought home.
She was tugged out of her head when Cottonpaw's name was yowled out alongside Ashpaw and the other kits. Leopardsong added her voice to the yowls, congratulating the new apprentices. Like any mother, she was a bit louder when it came to her kits' names, but she was proud of all of them regardless. Ashpaw was already meeting his mentor, she was not familiar with the she-cat but knew her from the nursery she'd recently left. She seemed like a loving queen, and Leopardsong hoped that she treated Ashpaw like one of her own.
Her gaze rested on Cottonpaw as he eagerly looked around for his mentor. Leopardsong hadn't been listening to who had been assigned who, so was as equally as interested in seeing the kit mentor. She couldn't help but shoot an unhappy glare at Firestorm when she had the audacity to glare at the leader. Leopardsong didn't dislike the queen or even hate her, but the she-cat still had some residual beef with the queen for the trouble her kit caused.

Green eyes glared up at the Galewood and at the kits gathering near the bottom. Apprentice ceremonies he assumed. He recognised a few of the kits that stood up front, two of with were miss fires kits. The ones that he and his siblings used too share a nest with. Well good riddance to them! Atleast now the nursery would lacking a pawful of kits, though he wished it were more. After Missingbits-- Twighlightstar had her kits, he had come to realise how small the nursery really was. These days it felt like it was overflowing with kits. Sure he and his siblings were probably contributing to that but they were important and the rest weren't.
Jaggedkit just about settled down when his, annoying as usual clone hoped forward landing directly next to him. Causing him to flinch in surprise not expected the sudden action. Jaggedkit glared unamused at Frostie as the tom pricked his ears straight up and snapped his jaws in a biting manner? His expression changed to puzzlement following frosties gaze as he brother then looked up at Twighlightstar as she spoke again. What? What was any of that supposed to mean. Was he hungry, was he trying say he wanted to bite someone. Twighlightstar? Gosh why could his brother just talk and communicate like any normal kit. "I don't think we should attack missingbits'star, frost. She's leader and I'd prefer she didn't think to badly of me." he responded to what he assumed frostkit was trying to say. He couldn't quite remember what he did but he remembers that he might have bitten Deadmoon. Memory was fuzzy but something along those lines. Ever since then she hadn't talked to him. He didn't mind but he didn't like that she was purposefully avoiding him. He didn't think biting was that bad? He bit his siblings all the time...
"I'm mean if you want to attack someone why don't we team up?" he suggested, no biting this time though. He'd just use his claws instead but who. Little green eyes scanned over the gathered cats looking for a target. He had a few in mind; Miss Fires, Crow something, or that rabbit kid with the big ears. They all seemed like bite able- uh attackable clanmates. "How about the rabbit, crow or not mom?" he asked nudging his brother with his paw trying to get him to look at each cat he indicated.
