cobwebfern choked back stupid traitorous tears and swallowed, not intending on making a scene at the gathering. she'd have to debrief with storms and berries after the gathering, tell them at home. so for now.. pull yourself together, cobwebfern. she sniffed, bringing herself back to the situation at hand. she glanced at mossfreckle, her earlier appreciation of seeing the medicine cat fizzling away. ' i'm sure rookfire will explain everything to you later. ' her voice was soft, nothing like the uncharacteristic anger that had bubbled up earlier. she leaned against berryshine, hoping to starclan that her mentor wouldn't hate her forever after she explained what had happened. the confusion and.. utter.. betrayal, in berryshine's voice.. it turned her stomach. she hated it.

cobwebfern inhaled and opened her mouth to speak again. ' berries.. i'll explain everything when we get home.. i promise. trust me. it's not.. i'm not bad. i-i'm not bad. ' she hoped it wasn't a lie. she didn't think it was a lie. but it could be. she could be not good. okay. shut up. stop thinking, cobwebfern. internal monologue finished, she returned to the conversation at hand. ..again.

cobwebfern spared a look at rookfire. ' i have no more words to say to you, rookfire. you left our clan out of a petty emotional issue that i had the maturity to stay and deal with. ' she inhaled and exhaled, glancing at berryshine, an apology in her eyes. ' i have nothing more to say to you. i.. i'm glad you're alive. ' cobwebfern paused, blinking back more tears. ' i know that i deserve to be here. and.. i think my clan knows that too. they support me. and that is what matters. because honestly.. i don't care about the other clans and what they think about me being up here. okay? ' with that, she swallowed, and looked at her paws.

breathing shakily, cobwebfern composed herself just in time for windclan to arrive and for storms to start speaking. she briefly met the she's eye, offering a wavery smile and a quick wink. she smiled at the appropriate times during storm's updates, though not without the tips of her ears turning pink at her name being announced. she dipped her head at the mention of all the recent deaths, inhaling and exhaling to ground herself. she was safe, everyone was safe, her friends and family were safe. nothing bad could happen at gatherings, or the stars would have the clans pay their price.

"Scorpionsight! I've been looking for you- you slipped away when we arrived." He sniffed, a flash of hurt in his eyes. "C'mon, you better stick by me. Any cat with sense knows that the other Clans can't really be trusted." The tom mewed, amber eyes narrowing slightly. "Unless, of course, you were looking for someone in particular?" His tone wasn't accusatory, but interest lay within it.
