Ferretkit nodded. "Do you think she'll make me an apprentice late?" he asked with a tilt of his head. He brushed against his mother. His sad kitten eyes looked up at her.
It took every ounce of Sneezekit's strength to keep from bursting out and dashing around the camp like a pinball. Every heartbeat felt like an eternity, and Twilightstar couldn't get through her speech fast enough. Like, it would be physically impossible to speak quickly enough for Sneezekit's liking in that moment. But none of that mattered when they finally heard their name, listening as "Sneezekit" disappeared and was replaced by "Sneezepaw".
Apparently, their mentor would be a warrior named Rabbitfur, and it looked like he was heading their way right then! They touched noses, and Rabbitfur said something to Sneezepaw, but they were so excited that they may or may not have forgotten to actually listen to what he was saying. But they were pretty sure it was a question, so they nodded with all the enthusiasm in their heart and yelped, "Oh, yeah! For sure!" They didn't even care if they were making any sense. They were an APPRENTICE now.

Daywhisper cheered for her kits as they were both made apprentices. Tears began to form in the she-cat's eyes as she proudly called out their names "Hollypaw! Fallenpaw!" She called out proudly, watching Hollypaw perk up and smile back, a rare gesture nowadays.
The next words caught her off guard, wait- she was being given an apprentice herself to train? oh, stars- She glanced around the clearing, trying to locate Ashkit. She'd seen him around the nursery a few times while watching over Holly and Fallen. She managed to catch a glimpse of him, Day quietly made her way through the crowd and toward him. Was she really ready for an apprentice? especially after being out of practice for the last six moons-
She shook her head, no. She was ready. Daywhisper took a deep breath as she was now nearing her new apprentice. She flashed a gentle smile, bowing her head in greeting "Hello Ashpaw. I'll be your mentor" She said softly, her tail gently swaying behind her.

Ashkit was still wondering what was to happen after he got called up to the Galewood. But when Twilightstar said he would be known as Ashpaw, he knew. He was now an apprentice. Not knowing what to think about it, he looked around. The other kits — no, apprentices — seemed to be happy. I guess I can be happy too, then, he thought.
At a moment, he realised someone called his name — his new name. The apprentice turned around and found himself facing a mackerel tabby. It seemed like he had seen her somewhere else, but Ashkit - no, Ashpaw - couldn’t remember where. “Hi” he said, with a practically unnoticeable hesitance. He then nodded when the cat told him she was his mentor. “So… that means you will be teaching me the warrior code?” he asked.

The little fluffball let a smile gleam across his features. Cottonpaw, finally Cottonpaw. It was a strong pride that seeped through his body as Twilightstar gave him his new name. Finally time to prove his worth.
”Thank you Twistar!” Cottonpaw just about managed to squeak out through the overwhelming feelings.
Leechscar was his new mentor, the intimidating warrior. But Cottonpaw wanted to be just like that when he grew up, deeply respected and loved by the clan. His head swivelled in the crowd trying to locate the feline.
When training began that's when the real fun would start.
Heathernose sighed and shook her head. “I’m not sure, my love.” She answered honestly, giving Ferretkit a comforting lick around his ear. “But I’ll be right there with you when you go up to her.” She murmured, hoping that would give the kit some comfort at least.
Songkit pressed against her brother, trying to comfort him. “It’ll be okay, Ferretkit!” She purred. “If Twilightstar delays your apprenticeship, then I’ll wait with you!”
Rabbitfur laughed heartily at Sneezepaw’s enthusiasm. “Good, good! I’m glad to hear it!” He purred. “For now, go ahead and spend some time with your new denmates!” He meowed, sitting down next to his new apprentice and nudging their shoulder gently.

Fernkit frowned, looking at his siblings for a moment before sighing and sitting a bit away from them
