As Turtlepaw paddled her legs, she would hopefully find that it got easier. Mistlewhisker began slowly backing up, making Turtlepaw cross the longer distance to get to her. "Breathe deep, keep your paws spread to catch more water." And look at that, Turtlepaw was officially swimming. "There you go."
Stormtail thought, then nodded. "Yeah, pretty much. It also depends on how hot or cold it is, too. If it's snowing, some prey would be hibernating." She explained and tilted her head. "But if it's not snowing but it's still chilly then the prey would be out looking for a sunny spot." she meowed. Stormtail flicked an ear. "At least from what I was taught."
"I see... thank you Ms. Stormtail." Turtlepaw meows with a smile as she dips her head in respect, so seasons do have change on the prey available. Maybe there's prey around here she could try and fetch? Maybe clan hunting is like loner hunting?

Stormtail nodded. "Of course, just being a teacher." She purred and looked around. There were some trees surrounding them. Stormtail spotted a small, furry tail poke out of a hole in a tree. It was a squirrel. Stormtail gestured to the squirrel in the tree. "And some prey stray around different areas. See, that squirrel hides its food in the hole in the tree." She explained softly as to not make the squirrel frightened.

Meadowwhisper meowed, "Stop" and narrowed her gaze. "Look at me, stay in the crouch and look at me." Meadowwhisper meowed. "Being upset is fine, it's natural, it's ok. But don't let it hinder your spirit, once your spirit is hindered your work is hindered." Meadowwhisper meowed, "You can mope after, but hopefully you'll imporve so you won't need to." Meadowwhisper meowed, her tone a bit softer as she spoke. Nodding she crouched, looking ahead to the stump, keeping her tail straight she swiftly moved to the other side with no sound. as she disappeared behind the trunk, but suddenly her head popped out from behind the tree beside the trunk. "See? Keep for your feet light, your tail gently raised. and your paws light." Meadowwhisper mewed. Sitting and watching.
Turtlepaw listened intently as she crouched, watching every move as instructed. Meadowwhisper is right, well to a degree... she thought as she gently raised her tail and dashed towards the stump.
Great! Now all she had to do now was find a place to pop out from.... too bad shes too busy thinking about the spot.

As the young calico tried to calm down her panicking, she finally made it to Mistlewhisker.

Meadowwhisper watched, nodding gently, the dash was good, it was swift and smart to get out out sight quietly, Meadowwhisper's face turned into a line as Turtlepaw took a while to choose, "Stop, come back, try again." Meadowwhisper meowed, her eyes a bit strict, "The dash was good, no sound, be sure not to ruffle up and leave with over hanging fur, not saying that you did just a warning." Meadowwhisper started, "But- when your going to dash off somewhere like that, you need to know where your going to pop out from already, you can't hesitate because it they did see you, they'd follow and see where you go and you won't be able to get away." Meadowwhisper mewed, adding, "If you do need to wait and whom or whatever your going away from or hiding from is distracted or unaware of your presence, you can do a slow stalk which then you can hide behind the stump and have more time to think." Meadowwhisper mewed, "Let me dementrate both so you get a better idea, seeing moves done helps you remember them just as much as them being lectured into your head, expect one is- well more fun than the other." The black furred she-cat mewed.
. Meadowwhisper was good at stalking and being quiet, especially when she had a deaf mate who taught her all of the ways to be quiet, which were quite efficent considering he couldn't hear himself. Meadowwhisper crouched. her crouch barely touching the ground, her tail lightly raised and curled at the tip, "Oh, silly me I forgot to mention, if you have a shorter tail you don't need to do this, but if you have a longer tail like me," Meadowwhisper stood and showed her curled tail, "Curl it at the tip, you should be well aware of your surroundings, but it minimizes any sound made if brushed on a tree or a bush," Meadowwhisper meowed, getting back into her crouch, "This will be the swift technique." she mewed, her eyes narrowing as she scanned the stump, she swiftly shot towards it, taking a sharp turn under it, and she decided to surprise the apprentice by climbing the tree in one leap and poking her head down from the branch. "See? I'll get to quietly climbing trees later, it's strange but good for escaping unknowing dogs and badgers." Meadowwhisper mewed, leaping down with a grunt from the tree, wordlessly she flicked her tail to let the apprentice know she was showing the slow stealth crouch now, crouching, Meadowwhisper scanned the floor below her, "It helps if you have a darker pelt.." Meadowwhisper mewed, she stalked silently, her tail quivering in concentration which she gently stopped, she avoided all debrees and crawled onto the shaded stump, her black fur blending in with the black-ish brown oak, her yellow and amber eyes the only thing boaring into her apprentice from the shadows, "Once you get to a good spot such as this, or even better behind it, you can-" Meadowwhisper cut herself off as she gripped the tree and silently leapt up it. "Tree and shadows, the best places to hide with our pelts." Meadowwhisper mewed. "Though Shadows are more efficient for me, for you I'd think shadows would work well, just not under bushes because you'd look like a mound of dirt." Meadowwhisper mrrowed, half playful half serious.

Once Turtlepaw felt comfortable enough, the pair left the waters and headed back to camp. Mistlewhisker gave the apprentice a nod, her classic way of saying "good work".

Meadowwhisper watched, eyes narrowed in focus. "I'm impressed Turtlepaw" She meowed a moment after the apprentice's question, "You did well, just choose a less.... leafy spot next time." Meadowwhisper advised. "Try again, but this time I want you to sneak up on me, choose any place to go behind, in front, side to side. Doesn't matter, you've just gotta be silent and follow your instincts. If you can tap me with a paw then you win." Meadowwhisper meowed, "Don't go easy on me, I'm known for my intuition." Meadowwhisper said curtly. Curling her tail around her paws
