slowly but surely, the medicine cat apprentice was getting bored. this was moving awfully slow, barely any cats showed up but thankfully, darkice finally moved on. briefly, he wondered if the warrior had gotten permission for this but discarded the thought, he wasnt in the mood for yelling at someone just yet, and since he was with them they should be fine for now. if one of the other enforcers or high ranks approached them about this rookfire was still on the fence about defending them or simply stating he had come along to ensure no one die before telling them about their wrong doings. trailing along the group almost lazily, the former enforcer took his place at the very back. the reason why the unfamiliar grey tom had decided to tell the apprentices walk in the back was unknown to rook and he personally wouldve done the opposite. keep the apprentices close and let warriors trail behind to keep an eye on them, but this wasnt his event and he didnt care that much about the warriors word, actively going against it by choosing the back.
though, if he wanted to be snarky, he was an apprentice right now, even though he had long since earned his full name, so he wasnt in the wrong to walk in the very back and do darkice's job in ensuring everyone stays safe. he was sure this wasnt just his weird need to be in control at every moment but simply basic knowledge and concern, but even if it wasnt, he wouldnt care. safety before appearance or whatever.
perhaps he'd approach the older feline to tell him off for that later, but that could wait, he wanted to see what the tom had to offer without the pressure of rookfire telling him what to do. letting apprentices walk in the back went onto his mental list of complaints first.
