FREEDOM!!!!! Houndkit was to be contained NO LONGER!!! For moons, ages, and ages upon ages, the large cats had trapped him in the walls. He had quickly learned every crook and nanny, eager to explore and understand this wide world he lived in. They had told him nooo Houndkit, you can't go outside, it's dangerous - but he was big boy. He could face the dangers!!
The brown kit had been watching carefully. Each morning large amount of cats would be sent out into the territory. He figured they had to go decently far away from camp since they always took rather long. While he had burning questions that needed to be answer, Houndkit understood he didn't want to be caught by any means. He just,, wanted to take a peak. So, he waited. And he waited. Each day, little by little, he dug and he dug. Taking scoopful of dirt out from underneath the camp barrier in a hidden area.
Houndkit kept patient, watching the wildcats trail into the territory. After what seemed to be forever, when he was sure they had to be a good ways of way - when no one was expecting - he made his wild escape. He pushed and squirmed underneath, popping out from the other side. A wide grin spread across his face, the wind blowing gently at his fur. Yes!!!!! Soon, the next part of his plan could be set in place. (Escape and do something so epic Mama has to make me into a 'paw) For now, Houndkit sniffed around the perimeter of the camp walls. His tail swishing excitedly back and forth - still never straying incredibly far.

It was like they were trying to get into trouble. Perhaps it was Emberkit's fault for not paying closer attention to what Houndkit had been doing each morning when patrols were sent out. Emberkit himself had been too fascinated by the patrols and their structure to pay attention to much else. But one morning, Emberkit had decided to stay in Mother's nest. Mornings were cold now, and while Emberkit and his siblings had thick coats, he was still a kitten who hadn't grown out his insulating fur yet. Usually, Houndkit and a few others went to watch the patrols, like Emberkit did. But this morning, Houndkit was already gone by the time sounds of the camp rousing for the day began.
Emberkit didn't take much notice of it. Surely, none of their siblings were stupid enough to try something. But when Houndkit didn't return, and the minutes wore on, sleep grew elusive. Emberkit watched the den entrance, waiting for him to show up from his excursion, practically vibrating with excitement at being so close to the adult cats. But he never did. Mother was still asleep, curled around her children, and Mistlewhisker was probably out on patrol herself. That left Emberkit. They didn't trust anyone other than those two to look after their siblings.
Her mistrust of the general warrior population was reinforced when she stepped out of the den, scanning the clearing for her brother. Nothing. She followed his milk and mud scent (surprisingly not unpleasant like it sounded) to the edge of camp, a bad feeling growing in her chest. The bad feeling blossomed into full-fledged annoyance as she spotted the hole. Stars damn it, Houndkit. Emberkit wasted no time sliding under the camp's barriers, not bothering to get another warrior or anything. She could handle this on her own.
Luckily for both of them, Houndkit hadn't gotten far. "Hound!" Her sharp voice rang out, hoping to catch his attention and show that she was not pleased with his stunt. "Back, now." Her tiny tail lashed, golden eyes split by the slits of her pupils. "Trouble, if you stay." Hell, they were probably in trouble already if someone caught them. Emberkit had seen apprentices get demoted, which surely meant that if they were caught they would be demoted too. But what was underneath a kit? Would they just be kept kits forever? "Stuck as kit forever."
His gaze softened, tiny paws carrying him to his brother's side so he could press against him, shivering at the chill wind that washed over them. "Please, home." He really, really didn't want to see Houndkit get in trouble. Emberkit did everything in his power to keep his siblings from ruining their reputation. Why did they make it so hard!!
The beauty of the territory crept in around Emberkit's worry, and the kit paused to stare with wide eyes at the beautiful foliage and fluttering pine needles that showered the forest floor. Wow... so many colors... But they couldn't stay. Emberkit shivered again, pressing harder against their brother.

So waking up and finding she was missing three kittens, well... it wasn't morning. She had already lost Hemlockkit, she didn't know how or even where she had gone, but between losing that one and Lostspark, Dawnstar's nerves were shot. These kittens were driving her insane. She carefully avoided waking the rest of the spawn, the she-cat untangled herself from her children and exited the den.
A glance around the clearing told her they were not in it. So outside the camp, she went. They didn't wander far, but the commotion they made made it easier for them to find them. A loud snarl tore through her chest as she fixed the troublemakers with a livid glare.
"Snakekit, Houndkit, and Emberkit. What the hell do you think you're doing." Her tone was shockingly soft as she approached the three kittens. The restrain she showed was causing her muscles to spasm and her pelt to twitch. The dangerous way her tail jerked from side to side exposed her rage. "Do you think that just because you're my kits you're above the rules I set." She's apparently been too soft on them if they think they could go around doing as they pleased.

She keeps making these rules and these cats keep on ignoring them. Honestly, she was so done with them. The Shadow Queen crept out of the shadows and fixed Redleaf with a cold glare.
"Redleaf, I know I said that no one is allowed out of camp without permission." She spat, ears swerving as she noticed the second loud cat not too far from them.
"You, outsider, either get your ass moving back to the border or I'll toss your corpse over it." Dawnstar was not in the mood for games. Why can't cats just listen to her!!!!

He walked slowly around the perimeters of camp, eyes trailing against the new landscape. It was breathtaking; the trees loomed over him as a soft lullaby cooed throughout. His ears swiveled around to the various sounds, red nose twitching at the new scents. He had so many questions that swirled around his head, it was a shame he couldn't ask Mama.
Houndkit had his snout and face shoved into a deep hole when suddenly his name rung out. He practically jumped a tail-length in the air, his fur and tail bushing out in shock. Whirling around to face the culprit, he frowned deeply. "Burr!!!! ShhhH!!!! SHhh!!!" He insisted, making harsh shushing noises. Ember was gonna get him CAUGHT!!! This was why he didn't inform anyone. His plans always got foiled. He appreciated his sister, but truly she didn't understand what rules was meant to bent.
A look of fear, a momentarily moment of falter in his confidence flashed across his face at Emberkit mentioning being stuck as a kit forever. "R,, really?" Houndkit shook his head back and forth, "W - wo, won't get caugh,, t, then, " He offered up, tripping over his words partially. Whilst he had gotten older and learned more words he found himself struggling with a few.
Houndkit's expression softened as Emberkit stepped closer, pressing against hm for warmth. "You go, I come lat - t - ter, prommy. Sssoon, " He attempted to reassure, offering up a compromise. He hadn't wanted to stay out too long - nothing that would get him caught. Of course, his plan would fall apart completely once the loud voice of Snakekit arose. Again, Houndkit jumped, staring at his brother with wide eyes. "NooO!!! Quiiet - t, pleaassse, " He whined, gah!!! He looked around nervously, his heart beginning to pitter-patter. Heck, heck, HECK!! If they got caught, they were screwed.
"Yeess, no one know. J - jusst uss, ok?" Houndkit asked to confirm, puffing out his chest in confidence.
This was shattered when a shadow suddenly seemed to block out of all the light. Slowly, slowly the brown kit turned to look up at Mama with wide, golden eyes. He had never seen her so angry. Her muscles twitched under her pelt as her tail erratically jerked back and forth. He gulped audibly, blood roaring in his ears. Houndkit's eyes started to fill with tears, but not quite falling. He didn't mean to, but whenever big emotions arose they just seemed to almost overspill.
His bottom lip wobbled, "N - no, no, ma'am, I j- just - t, wanted to - to, l - look, I -" He took in a sharp gasp for air, oh he was going to be a kit forever. Emberkit had said so, she would never lie. He was never gonna be a 'paw and he would be as old as Mama with a kit name. Everyone was gonna laugh and, and he would never be let out. He would nnever never ever ever get to be like everyone else. He would stay a failure.
All of his emotions arose up and broke until tears were streaming down his face, his breathing beginning to be a bit too fast. Alas, the consequences of his actions. "I do - nn,,'t w.. wanNA BE A KII-T FUREEVER!!!"
His reactions to things so far was to always run away from it. It was the most easiest way, to avoid dealing with whatever was happening. He didn't even think before his large paws were carrying him away. They slammed against the ground, his lungs gasping for air as he ran and ran into the territory. He didn't look back, he knew who would be behind him. Maybe his siblings could get away in time.
Houndkit would take a sharp turn, diving face-first into a hole that barely fit him. He thought maybe it would hide him, his fur blending into the dirt. Maybe he could stay there forever, it would be his new .. Home ?
.. without Mama? without his siblings?
Safe to say, that thought caused him to start to cry more until he was hyperventilating.

Fear lanced through Emberkit as a familiar voice piped up behind them, the kit whirling around with wide eyes to stare at his sibling. No, no no no! This was the last thing Emberkit wanted to happen! Emberkit flashed his fangs at Snakekit. "Back home. Now. Both of you." She whirled on Houndkit, once-desperate golden eyes now cold with anger. They were going to get all three of them in trouble unless they--
Mother.
Emberkit froze as Mother's scent and shadow fell over the three kittens, the fear in her heart turning to ice-cold terror. This was exactly why she was trying to avoid. Emberkit glanced between Houndkit and Snakekit, then up at Mother. "My fault--" she immediately jumped up, face carefully schooled into what she hoped was neutrality. "Did not want trouble. Should have asked for help. I'm sorry." Despite the obvious trouble they were in, Emberkit couldn't help but worry about Houndkit and Snakekit. Houndkit especially, since he had always seemed a little emotionally unstable--OH COME ON!!! Emberkit lurched forward when Houndkit started running, intent on following after him. No! Going out alone was even worse! Damn it, Houndkit! But she couldn't follow--Mother would surely scold them more. Mother could find Houndkit. So Emberkit stuck by Snakekit, beginning to herd him home if Mother let them.
