Maplekit trotted in. "A wasp stung me!" She cried. Her nose was swollen up and it hurt. "Ouch!!!!! My nose hurts!!"

Before responding to the tom's question, the molly vanished into the herb stores, going through the winding tunnels deeper underground with the herbs him and his apprentice had gathered. Swiftly, she picked a couple of poppy seeds and dandelion. Simply making sure the massive amount of stings this cat had managed to obtain wouldn't infect wouldn't be enough if they still stung like all hell when he woke up. She'd have to slather them up with a nice numbing agent while the worst of it was dealt with. Content with her selection, she padded back towards Ashcloud, returning his grin with one of her own.
"Something along those lines, innit?" she purred coyly, offering the tom the two poppy seeds. "Gratefully for you, you'll be fast asleep for the worst of it. Eat those two and follow me down these tunnels. I've got some nice, comfortable private nests for situations like these. Once you're asleep, I'll be treating those injuries and removing those stingers before they do you any more harm. If all goes well, you'll be almost good as new by the time I'm done... swelling not withstanding."
The smirk on her face lighting up even more after speaking, Lightningstorm waited for the tom to eat the seeds before turning towards the tunnels leading to the patient nests. The poppy seeds wouldn't knock him out instantly, so he would have more than enough time to get to a comfortable spot before he inevitably slumbered off. Well... as comfortable as one could get looking like that, in any case. Stars almighty, what a mess. When would warriors learn to ask politely before approaching the bees? That's what she always did and they never seemed to mind her one bit. She'd have to make a note to ask the first cat who managed to gather up honey without coming back looking like something a vulture dropped on the way back home how they'd managed. Otherwise she'd be running out of warriors faster than she did honey, and somehow, she didn't think Twilightstar would appreciate that.
Bouncepaw waits in the entrance of the medicine cat den, calling out nervously, "Lightningstorm? Are you there?"
He waits for her to reply, or for someone else to reply that she wasn't there. Honey threatens to drip from the honeycomb in his mouth, and Bouncepaw has to be careful not to accidentally swallow or drop any. His voice is muffled because of this. He also has a few stings on his rump and hind leg, though there's not many. There's not ten in total.

"All that I can hope for is that after this, I will be part bee." Ashcloud said before he picked up the poppy seeds in his mouth though he didn't quite eat the seeds right away. Part of him worried that he if ate them too soon he would collapse before he got to the nest. It was irrational, he knew, the medicine cat should know better but he was worried about making things worse so when he saw the private nest he ate the seeds finally and laid down. Never did he know that there was a private nest but it did make him feel more relaxed, or maybe that was just the poppy seeds talking. "What a nice nest..." Ashcloud said as his speech started to slow. "Got to get... hurt more often." He said with a smirk before laying down, feeling sleep around the corner.

Burnetpaw followed behind the golden apprentice, brown and white pelt still bristling from the pain of the stings that dotted her skin beneath. She wasn't entirely sure whether to wish her pelt had been longer and thicker in hopes of fending the bees off, or be grateful for the fact that her fine, wispy fur allowed the stings to air out and not become too painful. She added her honeycomb next to where Bouncepaw had dropped his and sat a little behind him, not saying anything in lieu of his first call. Hopefully Lightningstorm wouldn't fuss over her too much. If there was one thing she hated it was cats that fussed and clucked over her welling being a mother hen, telling her that she must be in pain or she's been very brave. Even the thought of someone doing that to her made a faint growl rumble in her throat, only loud enough for her to hear. She was very close to being a warrior, so she didn't want to be treated like a newborn kit.

The apprentice was shaky at best, a fact that didn't escape Lightningstorm's notice as she slowly ushered her into one of the private nests inside her den. Leopardpaw would need time to recover and come to terms with what had happened... especially if her fears were correct and there was no saving the paw's vision. Slowly, she prepared the herbs, silent as she debated on what to tell the spotted she-cat. The medic instead focused on the apprentice's movements, on how she adapted to the darker light conditions. See if she had even noticed a difference. If her eyes had needed time to adjust or if there was nothing left to get used to the trickling light of the underground.
"I'll need you to keep your eyes open, love. Going to be dripping in some medicine into your eyes and see if it can work some of its herbal wonders and better your injury. After that I'll be covering your eyes with some cobwebs while you recover, just to avoid unnecessary light or debris of... well... anything really irritating you. Now, hold still for a moment, alright? You might feel a small, cooling sensation, but it shouldn't sting."
Lightningstorm hadn't lied. About the reason why she would be covering Leopardpaw's eyes while the injury got better. She really didn't want any fur or dust making the open wound any worse. And the light would be a problem... or rather the lack thereof. It would be easier to come to terms with it slowly. To not find herself instantly unable to see even as she recovered and potentially make her injury worse as anxiety ate her away.
By the time the cobwebs were ready to come out, she was certain the apprentice would have realized what was up on her own. The extent of the scratches she had received. However, there was no reason to hold that over her head as she recovered. Not as far as the herbalist was concerned, in any case. It would change nothing in the long term... merely give her heart and mind to accept the inevitable and figure out how to move forward at her own pace. And if she was wrong? If the eyes could indeed be saved? Then she would have worried a patient for naught. Best be patient and wait. For Leopardpaw's sake.
@Idiotic.Bean101 [Leopardpaw]
| Figured this could be the end of the healing roleplay with it assumed that Lightningstorm applied the medication and wrapped Leopardpaw's eyes if you preferred, but I am opening to continuing it if you want to get one extra post in before Leopardpaw falls asleep! This took longer than expected overall between the patrols and events though, and I would hate to hold you back on this any longer than needed though, so entirely your choice! |

Sitting by the entrance of her den, Lightningstorm's ears perked at the sight of a lonesome kit approaching her. Head tilting as curiosity consumed her, she quickly spotted the problem. A swollen nose. The medicine cat did not have to ask to find out what had transpired, thankfully. A wasp had stung the poor kit, and left her with a rather painful reminder to not get so close to those angry little buggers in the future.
Sparing only a second's glance at the clearing assuming that perhaps a warrior or queen weren't that far off, she soon realized Maplekit had evidently come to her of her own volition. A small, sympathetic wince crossed the medic's expression as she gave her young patient a rare, gentle smile. It had to hurt like the dark forest itself if the kit had decided to come over to her of her own volition. Gratefully, unlike bees, wasps did not leave their stingers in the wound. Unfortunately, that did usually mean more than one sting in an attack, even if confronted with a single wasp, but evidently this had been a mere warning and the little one had escaped almost unscathed. Certainly more so than her last patient dealing with sting related injuries.
"Wait here a moment, love. I'll gather some herbs and have you feeling better faster than you can blink."
Looking through her storage, Lightningstorm grew accustomed to the dark, eyes settling on the oddly full honey section of her herb indentations. She rarely used honey to treat stings, mostly because it seemed like a bit of a redundancy. But this wasn't a warrior who had been careless and made bees angry while making away with some honey. This was a kit that had just found out exactly why it was best to give any flying bug with bright yellow and black stripes a wide space to fly in. Not only was she well within her rights to be a little more naive than the usual warrior, most of the herbs she used were a little too strong to use on kits. Best play it safe and have some honey... and perhaps give the remains of the comb for Maplekit to snack on. She was pretty sure a tasty treat after such an ordeal would boost her spirits!
Grabbing one bit of honeycomb that would be easy for the kit to chew on as well as a poppy seed and some cobwebs to keep the one she placed on her nose from running down her face, the herbalist padded back up the tunnels and towards the entrance chamber were the kit awaited her return. Dropping the small bundle of herbs she had brought along on the ground carefully as to not drop the honey from the leaf that kept its sticky liquid in place, the lithe calico offered the singular poppy seed to the kit, a small grin on her face. The seed would make her far too sleepy to walk back to the nursery, so odds were she would have to take her to one of the private nests to snooze away while her nose improved, but considering kits could be a bit careless, perhaps having her sleep away the worst of the inflammation would not be so terrible of an idea after all. Besides, who wanted to stay awake through the immediate aftereffects of a sting? The wiry framed healer was fairly certain no one in their right mind would.
"Right. Here you go. I'm going to need you to eat this seed. It will make you sleepy, but it will make that pain go away sooner rather than later. I'll also need to put some of this honey on your sting and wrap it with some cobwebs, but as a treat, you get to eat what's left! Have you ever had honey before? If not, let me tell you... you might just find your new favorite snack!" Lightningstorm purred as she began unwrapping the honeycomb, kneading on the mildly crystallized honey in order to get it flowing once again.
Half waddling and half limping, Jaggedkit finally neared the stinky den. His injured paw, sure to fall off, raised off the ground and tucked against him as he feared any weight put on it would hurt. Hurt a lot! Though he had stopped his crying his face was still stained with tears from his over the top sobbing in the nursery. He would have sat there all day if it weren't for that queen would kicked him out the den and pointed him towards the medicine cat dwelling area. Sure he would have thrown a tantrum and insisted he was fine because NO ONE wanted to go to the smelly den, but he overheard some kit mention his paw falling off and that was enough to convince Jaggedkit it was worth the stink if he wanted to keep his precious limb. This was all his clones fault, when had his teeth gotten so sharp!? And why had he chosen to use his new weapon on Jaggedkit, he'd get his revenge. When frostie least expected it.
The pungent scent that filled the stinky den, hit him right on the nose dragging him out of his thoughts. He wrinkled his face in disgust and took a step back accidentally placing he injured paw on the ground sending a jolt of pain up his leg. Okay stinky den it was! Inhaling his last breath, Jaggedkit limped into the den. Eyes tearing at the gross smell that sat inside it. It was so strong, how anyone could sleep in here was beyond him.
He had avoided looking at his paw the entire time, fearing he would see....missing bits. The thought a lone made him want to cry all over again BUT he wouldn't because that was dumb. His paw was really starting to hurt again and he new it was bleeding. That was the word for it. Blood. Hungry- no! If he touched his paw it would hurt and it would fall off. He didn't want that to happen. "HELP ME!!" He shouted hoping to summon either one of the healers. Whoever would save him from this misery none as pain.

Managing recently dried herbs and adding them to her stores of previously prepared ones, Lightningstorm's ears perked up at the overly loud call from a voice she recognized as a WindClan apprentice's. Calling both her and... Rabbitpaw? Nose wrinkling as she grew alert, the medicine cat rushed towards the den's entrance, only to find herself very confused. Before her stood a chocolate point apprentice she swiftly recalled as Willowpaw, but considering the volume of her voice her general look was... healthy. There was no scent of illness coming from her. No injury clear at first glance. Perhaps whatever ailed her was more than skin deep? And yet... where were the telling signs hinting at... well... Anything?
"You seem to be fit as a badger in greenleaf, love. What brings you to my neck of the moors?" she purred light heartedly, almond shaped eyes still assessing the molly's every movement instinctually.
| I am operating under the assumption that this is a personal roleplay as opposed to a healing one due to the lack of form for Willowpaw in WindClan Healing! |
