Dear Starclan, how much pent up energy and excitment did his apprentice have?! What in the world was it's mother doing to it that Maggotpaw acted like this? It worried Whisperinghive that the moment his apprentice saw an open, large expanse of an area, it's first thought was to run off. Did it hate clan life that much? But in the middle of those angry thoughts, his apprentice started to slow down. From a sprint to a jog to a canter and then flopping in the grass like a possum playing dead. The lanky warrior continued his sprint until he got closer to his apprentice, but that didn't take long. Whisperinghive slowed to a canter
then stopped when he was a fox-tail away from Maggotpaw. "Are you done? We need to get going." He asked, his tail lashing with slight annoyance as his dull green eyes glanced towards the sky, watching for birds. Whisperinghive reached out a paw, aiming to nudge his apprentice like he did with Strawberrykit. They were a bit alike, he realized. Both angry constantly, both stubborn, and both so so irritating. (Even if Whisperinghive didn't show it as much around Strawberrykit as he did around Maggotpaw)

Maggotpaw siiiighs and picks its head up. "I was dead, you know. But I'll stop. Say thank you for stopping being dead." It orders, standing and shaking off and stretching before turning a long, appreciative look this way and that, all around at the wide expanse of grass. And here it thought the Starry Meadow had been nice...

Oh!

"The flowers," Maggotpaw gasps. "We need to go back and get them. Then we can keep going."

Whisperinghive used every ounce of self control to not roll his eyes at Maggotpaw's 'orders'. He wanted to grab it by the scruff and drag it back to camp and make it stay in camp, but he knew he couldn't. "Nope." Whisperinghive he replied dryly. He just wanted to get this stupid tour over and go to sleep. "Fine. We'll get your flowers, and no more detors." The warrior said, his ears pinning back tightly.

"You're a bad listener." Maggotpaw remarks sternly. "Do you hate saying thank you? That means you don't have manners. Just by the way." Maggotpaw—who has never thanked another cat in their life—shook its head and turned, trotting back to where they'd abandoned their flowers before circling to return to Whisperinghive. It's moving rather slowly and clearly trying not to pant so obviously; tuckered out by one good run.

"M'readyyyy," it sings around the bundle of stems.

Whisperinghive huffed loudly enough to let Maggotpaw know he was annoyed, his tail twitching violently one more time. He let his ears perk up again as he waited for his apprentice to get its flowers and circle back so they could continue the tour. The freeze started to whisper at his paws, but the warrior quickly dug his claws into the ground to shut it out. Perhaps he was letting his temper get to his head? Perhaps he was being a bit too mean and rude? Most likely. Ugh. How was Maggotpaw able to get under his fur like this? When his apprentice came back with its flowers, trying its hardest not to pant loudly, Whisperinghive stretched for a moment before heading to the Sky Glade, watching as the grass turned into constant heather. "You want some of these?" The warrior asked, stopping to turn back to look at Maggotpaw. "This is the Sky Glade. You see that lone Pine Tree over there? There's an abandoned rabbit warren down there." Whisperinghive explained, hoping Maggotpaw didn't run off and get lost in the tunnels.
