Flashkit pouted at her mother's response, but she didn't whine; the lick between her ears felt nice.
That was okay then. She can go and bring back something nice for her momma instead. That might make her happy!
"M'kay momma! Imma go out for a bit. I wanna explore, but I won't go too far." She grinned up at Doedapple.
She lifted herself up onto her back paws for a moment to press her nose to Doedapple's cheek before prancing out of the nursery with her tail held high.
Flashkit was thinking of finding a nice feather for her mother. Her momma deserved only the best.
The kit made sure to stay right around the nursery entrance, where Doedapple could still see her somewhat. She wouldn't want to worry her if she went too far away.
It didn't take too long for her to find a few feathers scattered about. She wrinkled her nose at the ones she was seeing. They were either too small, too bland, or too ugly in her eyes at least.
Fishkit rolled around and sang. "Yayayayaya!!" They yowled as loud as they could. Goodbye every cat's ears. Maybe they could compete against Shallowkit for Riverclan 's Drama Queen!!

OspreyDart's paws were damp and made small prints. "Why would a mouse dive into the water is my question?" Holding a small wood mouse he asked "Is anyone hungry? I am willing to share my fresh kill if there are. He waited for an answer from one of the queens.

Salamanderpaw's jaws are stuffed full to aching on her return, and she moves with a slow waddle. A fish for Swanberry—"This one looked the most recent!"—is toted over triumphantly and laid at the queen's paws like it's something gilded, and fresh moss is set aside at the ready to replenish any of the nests that Daisypaw's already worked on (or to be torn up and sacrificed as toyscraps—Salamanderpaw recalls all too well how much she used to enjoy shredding mossballs and chewing on the pieces; even more than playing with them the usual way).
"You are all so welcome!" She cries, fuzzy chest puffed out. "Just, by the way. Say, uh...mmmmrmrmrm...." she sucks her teeth, scraping along and trying to fall into a helpful rhythm alongside Daisypaw, and quickly gets sidetracked from the tangent she was about to go on: "...euck, I don't wanna think about rocks falling into camp. What do we even do about that?" Would they have to leave all over again? Stars. Hopefully the odds of that happening are next to none. "Uh...but anyway! You sound like you're gonna do just fine, I think. But what kinda stuff are you gonna miss out on, I wonder? Can you hunt? Can you do a crouch, at least?" Salamanderpaw is so not subtle with the way she keeps throwing hopeful sideways glances at Daisypaw and then around the nursery, to Swanberry and Sweetsap again, to any queen who happened to be present. She licks her lips, trying for casual: "I uh, I could show you, if you need, but like...you know, maybe a queen might want to instead?"
Because Salamanderpaw's crouch is wobbly rubbish and she doesn't know how to fix it, but she's not going to say that. If she can get someone, anyone else to demonstrate it under the guise of doing some charitable act for Daisypaw, then surely she could just stare really hard and figure out how to fix her own.
Even better...
"And uh, maybe so-good bitty-kit wants to try it out too. Just, like, for fun." Bitty-kit, who'd totally massacred her name, but that's fine; Salamanderpaw struggled with her own name when she was teeny-tiny, too. "Saaaaal-uh-man-der," she enunciates slowly. "But Salpaw works. It's...kinda snappy. Are you excited to learn how to hunt, bitty-kit?" Haha let's just hold an impromptu lessons right here and now wouldn't that be crazy. Like just for fun. Haha what if. Another pointed glance around the nursery as she works at piling any refuse up by the nursery's mouth per Sweetsap's earlier intructions.

Osprey was feeling upset so he placed the small mouse on the ground outside of the den, walking away. "Guess noone is hungry" He sighed walking in the warrior den for some sleep.

Floodsight padded up to them to watch the whole scene play out as the two tumbled. Between the little kit's grip and Brokenstream's exaggerated pleads for help, the silver she-cat couldn't help but roll her eyes light-heartedly. "Come on now, you've landed into this one yourself~"
With a glint of humour in her dim blue eyes, Floodsight sat by and watched this...sort of battle go on. And then suddenly, squish. Squish? Her heart jumped a little, but Brokenstream's tone in her voice told her everything she needed to know. It was all a ploy. Following along, she faked a gasp, "Oh dear, where's Duskkit? Duskkit? Where are you?"
[ Little one got squished into the backrooms :"D ]
"I feel like there's a big flea in my fur!" Brokenstream mock complained, using his hind paw to itch at his ear. "No...not there...in my side." He rolled away off of Duskkit. Opening his jaw and widening his eyes in fake surprise, the tom poked the kit gently with his paw. "My, what a big flea! Floodsight, do you see this?" He gasped. "Oh, wait, Duskkit- it's just you!" He teased, batting playfully at her ears as he shot a playful wink at Floodsight. "Floodsight! I thought I was in real danger there- how could you?" The Lionheart lifted a paw to his chest, feigning hurt. "Say, Duskkit. Should we practice the hunter's crouch on Floodsight?"

He looked down to the small kit at nodded. “A fish n’ a squirrel. I can go n’ check if ya wan’ somethin’ else too…or water n’ such.” he offered the kit, glancing around to see if any other kits or queens seemed to desire prey as well.
