At least it smelled piney, like land. Antpaw wrinkles his nose as he thinks of their next probable destination, Riverclan borders. Or maybe they wouldn't go there. Riverclan had come back to the forest after the war, and he doubted the clans were still on completely good terms. Either way, he didn't care about it much.

Antpaw sniffs the air. There is the frightened scent of prey, but he can tell that they all ran away due to the large number of cats. They probably crossed the border. Antpaw licks his teeth in disappointment and closes his eyes. More sleep and rest. While keeping an ear out for gossip, of course. He sees Ravenpaw, sneers, and sits down at a spot where she's not visible. He didn't feel like talking to hypocrites and do gooders right now.

Risingstorm gave them time to rest, something Mallowpaw hadn't been expecting. After all, young apprentices these days never got tired, never needed to take breaks. They could walk the whole territory without a single rest, do things that she could only do now at fourteen moons, even though there was nothing wrong with her (besides her sickness, but that had only come about recently. She was talking long-term). Risingstorm was sitting; maybe he needed a rest as much as she did. She knew he had a slight limp; that could be the reason for it.

She felt better when Risingstorm signalled for them to move again, although her head was still pounding- just not quite as much. She walked behind the Hornet until they reached another border- ShadowClan's. She knew it even before Risingstorm introduced the place or she drew in the other clan's distinct scent. The pine trees, the same ones that ShadowClan smelled like, dotting the border were telling enough.

Mallowpaw frowned when Risingstorm said that their smell was bad. It wasn't particularly pleasant, but she didn't mind it. Different cats had different opinions, she supposed. She wondered if it would be the same with RiverClan's scent; the only one she didn't know yet. She had heard they reeked horribly of fish, but then, she didn't know what fish smelled like.

Alpinepaw memorized the scent. It was new to her and she did not mind the smell. She yawned as Risingstorm said something about a bad smell.

Antpaw had plenty of sun and rest by now, and he was starting to miss camp again. The apprentices were so loud and noisy that it honestly made him regret even coming out. Without all these nuisances, it would have been much more peaceful in the apprentice den.

"When are we going back?" He asks Risingstorm abruptly.

Risingstorm nodded as the apprentices checked out the Shadowclans boarder once they were all set the started to head back out and move on now the riverclan border. ThunderClan's past with the land fish was never great. Rising was somewhat glad riverclan was gone for the most part he never cared for them, good thing they were chased out the hornet thought as the reached the final strand.

Once they fully reached the boarder he straightened up " Listen Up! This is the riverclan boarder remember their smell, and stay a bit more away we don't need anycat getting hurt got it?' he meowed he wasn't worried about riverclan them selves but better safe then sorry.

Snowpaw bounded forward and wrinkled her nose at the stinky fish scent. She gazed at the rivers doubtfully. Who would go in the water on purpose?? She was very glad she wasn't in riverclan. After all, her long fur would just get wet and then stay wet!

Antpaw was not going in the water, no he was not a Riverclan cat. He hated getting his fur wet. He warily looks at the river, his tail swishing, content sunning hinself on the rocks.

The sound of rushing water was the first indication that they were approaching RiverClan's border. Mallowpaw's eyes swept across the opposite riverbank, noting the willows rising above the tangled undergrowth of cattails and reeds. She knew there were even fewer trees as one went further into RiverClan's territory, and thick blades of grass replaced the tangle of reeds as underscrub. Funny, how she knew the features of the other clan's territory so well when she hadn't even visited all the landmarks of her own.

Mallowpaw opened her maw to draw in the scents of RiverClan. It was fairly faint, since the markers were across the river, but she still caught the distinct scent of fish. It didn't smell good; not horrible (likely because it wasn't that strong), but definitely not pleasant. Thank StarClan her nose was blocked enough to not have to smell it if she didn't want to. That was one good thing about being sick, at least.

Next was the RiverClan border, Smallpines.

She stayed a bit away from that one as per instructed, but the smell of fish was pungent.
She doesn't like it, but it's definitely easy to memorize.
