Strangely enough, Starlingkit had decided to stop screaming. For now. No longer cold and hungry, the dark tortoiseshell gently kneaded at her mothers belly, suckling calmly. It was rather peaceful. But that would not last long.

Antpaw doesn't retort against the fact that he has an attitude. It's the truth, after all. Speaking of attitude, this kit also seemed to have plenty. He looks at Lightkit judgingly for a few seconds before turning back to Flowernose, who, surprise surprise, wasn't sleeping.

"Mom, you're awake?" He's about to ask for the kits names, before realizing Flowernose is probably, very likely, tired. And he could always ask later. He only nudges the piece of prey towards her.

"Listen to your mother, little kit. I'm your... older brother, Antpaw." He pauses. His nose twitches. Look at him now. Talking to kits. How embarrassing. And brother. Antpaw was an only child, and he never had siblings before. Calling himself a brother felt foreign and new. It felt unfamiliar.

"Mom, what did you name them?" Antpaw asks Flowernose. He doesn't ask the kit themselves, because obviously kits were stupid.

Flowernose nods. "Yes, hon, I'm awake." She meowed, half teasingly. She looked at Lightkit, who was curious, as they should be. "This one is Lightkit." Flowernose meowed, still looking at them, wondering what they would look like as a warrior.

Spiderkit's gaze flickered between her mother, her littermates, and her...big brother? That was pretty...cool! Her gaze fixed on Antpaw, eyes wide and curious. "I-I'm Spiderkit." She mewed in her tiny voice, ducking her head bashfully.

Lightkit and Spiderkit. Good to see their family wasn't going on full insect motif like Spiderthroat's little family was.

"What about the two sleeping ones?" Antpaw asks. He wonders if it would be okay to prod the closer kit, then decides it's likely a bad idea. He didn't want to face Flowernose's wrath.

"Are they..." He doesn't end the sentence, but it was obvious what he was thinking. Were the kits... alive?

Flowernose looked at the, supposedly, sleeping kits. She tapped them with her muzzle and her eyes widened. They were cold. Flowernose sighed and looked up at Antpaw. "Yes,." She meowed quietly.

Lightkit looked to his mother as she introduced him. Nodding gently. His tiny golden ears perked up as he mewed, "Mommy. Can we see dad"
