Rosehawk blinked appreciatively at Owltalon as the RiverClan Deputy was speaking. At the former Lionheart´s question, Rosehawk shook her head.

´´Unfortunately, no,´´ The dark-cream-and-white Wildrose Bengal reported. ´´I didn´t scent any foxes or badgers - or any other threats, so it must have been a cat.´´ She mewed with a wave of her tail, voice low so that Owltalon was the only cat who could hear her. ´´I´m not suggesting that one of our Clanmates did it, because a cat from another Clan or a loner always could have rolled in our scent at our borders, but I didn´t scent any rogues or loners, either.´´

Rosehawk lowered her voice more. ´´A fox or a dog would have taken its body with them to eat later, and I doubt a badger could have propped Catfishwhisker up against a rock like he had been whenever I found him.´´

However, it was entirely possible that a RiverClan cat had killed Catfishwhisker, but that was a thought that Rosehawk couldn´t believe nor shake out of her head any more easily than Stormstar or Owltalon could.
