She looked at her catch with pride. She had caught something, something that had sharp talons and could fly.

"I've caught a caterpillar does that count?" She watched as the other two caught a couple more, then suggested going home.

"Okay!" then flattening her ears she looked at them.

"How do I carry it?"

Frustrated, Adderstrike walked all the way to lionsbeach. She felt that Stormstar was far too on Redmire's side on everything. Adderstrike didn't snap the moment she talk to someone, ever. She didn't start the yell, yet there she was being threatened her warriors name over a conversation that went poorly. She shook her head, no she needed to let it go and perhaps say away from Redmire forever. If that was how she was going to be off the bat it wasn't like she was ever going to be able to talk to them again. Adderstrike wasn't even sure what angle she would have to approach things to be able to talk to that cat. Given what she said as well, it sounded like Redmire needed friends badly, but was it really Adderstrike's duty to make friends with everyone? To make everyone happy all the time? No, not it wasn't.

So Adderstrike laid there in the sand close enough for the ebb and flow of the ocean to hit her, but barely. Feeling the sand pull away from under her when the water receded felt nice, almost mesmerizing. If she didn't have clan duties she would be here all the time... Or the Rugged range. Now that was a fine place for sure. Slowly she started to feel the stress melt away. Perhaps she needed more time on her own, thought even now her body itched to work.

Gullstrike led the way to Lionsbeach, and once the water was visible against the sky, he felt a bolt of energy rush through him. Like a kit, he let out a delighted chirp and raced forward, splashing into the calm waters of the ocean. He glanced back at Goldenwing.

"Come on in, the water's fine!" He drawled, wading in up until the water touched his belly fur. He stood still, letting the water sway around him, and kept his eyes down to watch for life.

It was only a moment before he dove his head under the surface to snap at a small fish; but it flicked away just at the last second. He maded backwards, lifting his head out of the water and shaking it to rid of the excess drops. "Ergh, these little fish always get away from me. What about you, any luck so far?" Gullstrike asked.

Goldenwing stepped into the cool saltwater, some tension easing from between her shoulders. She flicked her tail in amusement, looking over at Gullstrike.

"I'm not sure how much success you'll have splashing around like that," she teased, feeling a bit more open and relaxed as she took in the expanse of water around her. Goldenwing stood as still as she could manage, the current gently tugging at her long fur. As a dark shape darted beneath her she lunged, hooking her claws into the scales of a smallmouth bass.

She brought the fish to shore, quickly snapping its neck with her jaws and thanking Starclan under her breath.

"Well, that brings us 1 to 0. You'll have to start catching up."

Gullstrike watched Goldenwing's catch, then flicked an ear at her comment. "Yes, well... the sun is shining in my eyes!" He said with his chin in the air. The she-cat was on shore now, while he was still standing in the shallows, so he hoped that she could hear he was trying to be funny. To help, he waved his wet tail around in jest.

The movement and noise startled away the fish that had been curious (and brave, and stupid) enough to swim around his legs, so he waded his way to shore. Here, where the sand was still soaked, but not quite where the water consistently reached it, he could see the little breathing holes that usually indicated crabs. He sniffed for a moment, staying still to prevent the prey from sensing movement. Then, Gullstrike pounced and began digging furiously His claws quickly scratched across a shell and he curled them around the creature, flinging it out from its hiding spot.

"Gotcha!" He meowed, tossing it onto the ground and then spearing his claws through its underside. Luck was not on his side though -- the crab pinched his dewclaw before it was killed, and it pinched pretty hard. He yowled and hissed and flung it away, where it fell dead on the sand. "Stars," he cursed, licking his pinched claw as it throbbed. He glanced back at Goldenwing. "I hope that you can forgive how embarrassing that was in exchange for lookin' for pretty shells now." He meowed, trying to look meek under his wet fur.
