Well the skunk striped tom had no clue what he'd done to deserve that eye roll but he wouldnt be him if he didnt gasp over dramatically in mock insult at it.
"Well excuse ya Twilightstar! How dare ya imply Leechscar has friends, much less me, much less that he'd share a braincell!" The toms head rested back down on the leaders belly after his raspy declaration, snorting in amusement at his own rasped words. "But in all seriousness I respect yer son a lot but dont think he likes me. Shame, I enjoy his company an' wouldnt protest more. An' if ya dont wanna tell me whats up dont, Ill figure it out eventually." Eventually meaning when she gave birth because if the fact that a kitten was beating the hell out of his chin and the leader smelled of milk already didnt clue him in that'd be the only thing that did.
In Crowtooths defense he'd inhaled some dust earlier so his nose was proper plugged and his only experience with a pregnant queen (Bravebird) was one he was blocking out because trauma.
For a time he just sat in pleasant silence, purring brokenly as his tattered ear was brought to order and occasionally returning the favor on Twilightstars plump belly to watch it react. Eventually though the lingering stress that'd been lurking since the last meeting made itself known and he lightly drawled. "Soooooooo... Any tips? Fer deputy stuff. Dont think Im doin' poorly so far but yanno me, always wanna do better."
Hmm, he had a point. Leechscar was too antisocial to make friends with Crowtooth. The clan leader couldn't help but scowl a little as she thought about Leechscar's social life. He didn't really have friends did he, nor did Dreamlight. Both were rather closed off to clan which broke her heart a tad. She's been far to closed off focusing on her own problems and the clan's that she hasn't bothered to think much about the older two kits.
Leechscar's life was more involved around making hers easier and she didn't really know what motivated Dreamlight. The leader glanced down at her belly as Crowtooth went back to resting on it. She prayed to StarClan that this newest litter would make up for what those two don't have. If they don't have friends perhaps family would do. Twilightstar wasn't going to stick around here forever, she didn't want those two lonely her worse. She wasn't worried about Crowtooth as much as she was those two, he had a knack for making unlikely friends and would have solid support.
"I wouldn't take it personally, Leechscar acts like he doesn't like anyone. But he's got a big heart underneath all that grump." Twilightstar parted her maw in a big yawn and pushed her worries to the back of her mind. She was a tad bit lost at the 'figuring it out' part, but then remembered that Crowtooth could have fluff for brains on certain things. [B]"I'm sure you'll figure it out sooner or later."[/B
Advise? He was the first deputy to ever ask her advise on the role. "You're doing fine as is, Crowtooth. Though, take breaks and talk frequently with your loved ones when the stress get to be too much, which is something that's going to happen often. You'll burn yourself out quickly if you don't. Ah, and mind your tongue at the gatherings. All it takes is one wrong word to trigger our more aggressive clans looking for a challenge." Crowtooth had a sharp tongue and could be rather witty when he wanted to be, more often playfully than not, but she was concerned on how well that go over with Dawnstar.
Fallownose had always been more on the quiet and observant side when it came to interactions with the leaders. She knew Crowtooth knew how to behave himself, but between losing her deputies to both ShadowClan and RiverClan and ThunderClan known for their repeated attacks on medicine cats, Twilightstar wanted him to be careful.
"You should groom yourself too. You're always full of dirt, you'll be representing WindClan as their deputy now. I'll never hear the end of it from Dawnstar if you come in filthy." Twilightstar lened in to lick the tom's face with a frown. Bumblestar wouldn't care enough to pester her about it, Dawnstar, depending on her mood, would tease her about it.
A voice unexpectedly addressed him as he frantically attempted to fix what he had broken. It startled him and he immediately raised his paws almost like if his paws weren't touching the nest it meant he hadn't caused the mess when he so obviously had. The voice that spoke to him didn't at all sound like the one he had expected to hear from the scary missing bits lady. He'd kind of heard it before, but it sounded different from when she had been standyon the tree and shouting down at everyone. As the older cat walked into his view, Jaggedkit visibly flinched. His eyes looked everywhere BUT at the important cat. He could already feel the icky feeling again, and sure he felt bad but it was like he had chosen to be this way!! There was no way he was going to get answers now from this cat. He had broken their nest, so of course they obviously hated him now!!
Oh great, thanks straws! Set a bad reputation for your littermates will you, missing bits probably wanted nothing to do with them and a part of Jaggedkit was glad. That meant he wouldn't have to look at her- no. How would he get answers to his many questions if she hated them!? "O-Ok I'll help, but I want answers t-too" he demanded, looking up determinedly but keeping his eyes squeezed shut in fear that if he opened them he'd see all Missingbits uh you know missing bits!
Twilightstar often forgot how unappealing she could look to other cats. She's never been a vain being and ususally never cared much for others thoughts on her appearance. Still her clanamtes were different, her heart would her hurt had she noticed how Jaggedkit made a point to avoid looking at her, but she was busy with her moss.
"I'll answers-" She stared and cut herself off when she turned to glance at the kitten. His eyes were shut tight. It confused her for a moment and then she sighed softly in understanding. There was that pang in her chest as the realization set in. If she were far younger and less mature she might have shed a tear at the innocent reaction. Suddenly more self-concious of her horrendous, nightmare fueled appearance, Twilightstar swished her tail to the side.
"Come stand on my otherside I can't see you on my blindside." She called to the kit to save from an awkward conversation. "Now then, what do you want to know?"

She might have to start calling more of her warriors' loyalty into question at this rate. She wasn't sure how else to get her clan to stop treating outsiders like clan.
"If there is nothing else would you mind fetching me Fadingdawn on your way out, I need to speak to speak with her."

twillystar does have kits! or..one kit!, egretkit's eyes widen at this newfound information. leechscar is this kits name, and so she thinks it's safe to assume he's a big cat just like papa. oh, maybe he's one of those things that papa is, too! um, fooory is what it's called. leechscar must be a fooory! but according to twilightstar, he only sleeps with her sometimes, and from the sound of it, she's alone a lot of the time. twillystar must be very brave (of course she is, she's the leader, after all) to sleep alone so often.
"well, don't worry, miss twillystar. I'll share your nest with you! and I can bring my brothers too - oh! and my friends, too. then you won't have to sleep alone anymore!" she assures. it'd be like a big sleepover!
egretkit stares at twilightstar, dumbfounded by the answer she received. wait...someone took her eye? "WHAAATTTTT!" oops, maybe that was a bit too loud, but in her defense, she's confused!! what in the world is shadowclan?! well, she knows what shadowclan is but she guesses what she really is wondering is...who is this shadowclan toad who stole miss twillystar's eye? toads are dangerous?!?! she frowns, tiny brows furrowing. she feels..um, she's not sure what she feels, but it's not happiness, that's for sure!
puffing her cheeks out in anger, she speaks up, quite loudly and confidently. "I'll - I'll get your eye back, miss twillystar, that's a promise! don't you worry!!" she declares, nodding. this big ol' shadowclan toad better be scared! "when I catch them..i'll..um!!" she pauses, thinking of what her brothers would say - or maybe what papa would say? uncle crows? somebody! "make them feel really bad for it!!" yep, that's right. those shadowclanners timbers would be shivered once they saw her.
Oh dear, what had she invited into her den? Twilightstar was all for having kittens visit her den but she wasn't sure how a sleepover would be. She'd be an anxious mess worrying about one of the kits falling out of the tree or worse. Perhaps Crowtooth was right and she needed to find a new place to serve as the leader's den.
"That's sweet of you, but rather than bring everyone here it might be easier if I visited the nursery and we can have me sleep over there for the night. If you all agree on a night, I can come by the nursery." She told Egretkit. She'd most likely be residing in the nursery during her free time once her kits were born anyway.
The exclamation and the confusion on the kit's face had the leader laughing. It was difficult not to find humor in the situation. Twilightstar probably confused her on what a toad was, but she was glad that she hadn't told the kit who had taken her eye cause Egretkit was quite the determined kit.
She was utterly adorable too! Egretkit reminded Twilightstar why she kept pushing on as she despite how gloomy she often got. There was always someone or something to brighten her day. "You're a good kitten, Egretkit," Twightstar leans in to nuzzle the kit. "You don't have to worry about getting my eye back it was lost a long time ago. It doesn't hurt nor does it bother me anymore. Rather than my eye why don't you bring me you bring some prey you catch when learning how to hunt?" She always found it quite an honor for the young apprentices to bring her something they caught.

Owlpaw, for apprentice of 7 moons, was apparently not as bright as one would hope. With obvious clues of course. BECAUUSE she hadn’t even known- been told by Bigcat- that she was pregnant! The audacity! Aubs thought they were FRIENDS!! the ginger mottled apprentice had suddenly entered the den with an excessively miserable expression on her face. There was earnest displeasure creased in her whisker brows, and The Huntress soberly plodded up to Twilightstar. The sadness of not being informed until now was evident in her body cues. “Bigcat!” she exclaimed. Somehow seeing the scarred leader flung all sadness from Owlpaw and replaced it with her usual excitement of seeing her, and so she flung herself- Bigcat wasn’t a name that would suit for much longer, as Owlpaw herself was sprouting up awful fast. But it was the name The Huntress had given her so that was all that mattered- at the leader, supposedly wrapping her paws around her in a massive hug.
“Y’ never said you ‘as pregnant!! Why didn’t y’ tell me!! I woulda broughtcha m’ first rabbit!! I coulda givn’ to you.” there was a hint of remorseful dismay as subs supposedly pulled back, eyes still bright and expressive.Owlpaw would let go of Twilightstar to puff out her chest in gleeful pride of her accomplishment. ”Jumper taught me ev’rything! He’s so cool!! DID YOU KNOW HE CA’ FISH???” Her voice ended in a high pitched squeak of disbelief. Leechscar was simply fantastic, the super best mentor she could ask for! He had awesome scars too!! But not as awesome as her lovely rescuer.

If it wasn't her favorite ginger apprentice! Her green eye lit up with concern as Owlpaw joined her in her den looking like someone crushed her favorite mossball. She didn't look injured more like she was bothered by something. Twilightstar never had to wait long with Owlpaw she always got straight to the point when she visited.
Her misery didn't last long. Twilightstar grinned as the apprentice flung herself at the leader. She was lucky that she was already sitting or she would have fallen on her back. The young cat was growing in leaps and bounds it seemed. Owlpaw's nickname fit much longer, but Twilightstar's never grown out of any nickname her clanmates give her no matter how strange.
Oh, is that why she was upset? "Well, I figured it was obvious that I was with kits, but you also never asked." Twilightstar pointed calmly. She hadn't gone around broadcasting her pregnancy for the world for obvious reasons, but at the same time with how big she had gotten unless you were Crowtooth, Twilightstr felt like she should have had to say anything.
"I didn't hide it on purpose. I didn't know you'd like to know. You can still bring me a rabbit." She meowed after hearing the dismay in the apprentice's voice. Yet as normal, nothing kept Owlpaw down for long as she was already pulling away and talking with pride about a new topic.
"Jumper?" She quired, not certain she knew who that was until she mentioned fishing. "Oh, Leechscar. I'm glad you like him and are getting along with him. I didn't know he could fish, but he's always loved hunting since he was young." Twilightstar trilled in reply. She had been worried about the contrasting personalities but it seemed they made things work.
"Now he's taken it to the extreme and has gotten into hunting raptors, he said he wanted to train you after I told him the story of how you oh so bravely challenged an owl when we first met." That seemed like eons ago. Owlpaw's certainly grown since then and was fitting into clan life wonderfully. "Has Leechscar taught you anything interesting yet?"
Amber eyes narrowed in the gloominess of the WindClan Leader´s Den as Wrenwhisker nodded. ´´I´ll send her in.´´ With a respectful dip of her head, the light brown tabby slunk out and into the clearing.

"Yes, it's been brought to my attention that you've been causing some problems within the clan. You've been exceedingly disrespectful to Leechscar, a Fury, after being informed that you couldn't take over the patrol Lightningstorm assigned Willowpaw. You decided to throw a tantrum instead of simply accepting your fault and stormed off moments after with Cardianlpaw. Cardinalpaw, your apprentice, disrespect, and disdain towards a fury stems from your behavior, which is quite concerning. Lightningstorm also reported that you decided to tell Littlekit that she was beneath clan matters. Yes, I am aware of what transpired, but I agree that you could have used better wording. WindClan's kits are just as much a part of the clan as you or I." Twilightstar told her.
"Leechscar and Lightningstorm believe that the best way to handle this is to remove both your apprentices from you and demote you, reassign you to a mentor, and have you take some time retraining as an apprentice. I am inclined to agree with them. You're arrogant, impulsive, disrespectful, and overly controlling, and I'm not sure who or what gave you the idea that you can act as you do. It's teaching our younger cats bad habits, and causing unwanted tension in the clan."
Twilightstar could agree that Leechscar could be a bit much, but since naming him a fury, she's never heard anyone have a problem with him other than Fadingdawn. Lightingstorm agreed wholeheartedly with him regarding Fadingdawn, and Twilightstar had noted some concerns regarding the warrior.

Fadingdawn frowned. Frowned. Frowning wasn´t something that the white-and-pale-ginger tabby normally did. She gave an irritated twitch of her tail tip at the mention of Leechscar´s name. ´´I did not tell Littlekit that she was beneath Clan matters. What I said is that she shouldn´t have had to watch Sunpaw die like that right in the middle of the camp. Honestly, someone should have gathered the kits and taken them to the nursery whilst that was happening.´´
Grass-green hues narrowed against the gloominess of the den, and Fadingdawn sat back on her haunches. ´´I don't know what you want me to do. Last time I got onto Cardinalpaw for showing disrespect, I got yowled at myself,´´ Fadingdawn gave a twitch of an ear, her expression unreadable. ´´Cardinalpaw´s actions are not my own, and neither are Fleetpaw´s, if he decides that he wants to act up.´´
The warrior wrapped her tail tightly around her paws. ´´You know what?´´ Fadingdawn meowed, forcing her shoulder fur to remain flat. ´´Yes, I did get onto Leechscar. Why, you ask? Well, he assumed I was taking over that patrol. I was not. I was simply going to tag along with Willowpaw to keep her out of danger. Cardinalpaw went out with us.´´ Fadingdawn rolled her shoulders. ´´In my opinion, Leechscar´s a little....´´
How should the warrior put this? Leechscar was Twilightstar´s son, after all. ´´...controlling. I´m sure that there are cats who are his biggest fans, but I´m certainly not one of them.´´
Fadingdawn´s tail tip flicked to-and-fro every so often. ´´Another reason I go upset is because Leechscar was acting as if I was a kit that needed to be babied and treated like one. For starters, I am not a kit, and I am not an apprentice,´´ If Twilightstar demoted her over Leechscar´s word alone, Fadingdawn would walk out on WindClan altogether, no exceptions. ´´No one in the Clan should be treated like one. Twilightstar, I get that the Furies are to be respected, but ordinary warriors should be respected, too.´´ She wasn´t saying that they weren´t, but sometimes, the Furies treated the warriors like they hadn´t been ordinary warriors themselves at one point.

Hmmm, maybe Crowtooth should make more of an effort to 'hang out' with Leechscar, even if it didnt involve a ton of talking or the usual vibe of Crowtooths time with friends. If the other tom 'acted like that' with everyone.... Well it sounded like it could grow to be quite the lonely existence. Maybe a spar would break the ice? He'd approach Leechscar later.
It could even count as the break Twilightstar was suggesting though he had no clue how to manage the idea of breaks vs 'work' given he considered tasks relaxing. Seriously, he was that weirdo who found digging a new route in the depths of the earth over hours of back breaking work akin to a spa day. .....Maybe Crowtooth needed to share the burden of sussing this one out, Lightningstorm would tell him if he was just being an idiot.
Which Crowtooth was, frequently. It was why cats tended to forget he could be ridiculously clever, the tom acted so stupid in times of leisure when there were no stakes it was difficult to see him otherwise. However there was the flip side where that all dropped and he was shockingly effective for an asthmatic with weird hobbies sooooooo. So Twilightstar had made an odd choice but one that so far worked.
The gathering, that Twilightstar was foreseeing like a prophet but hadnt happened yet, was probably a good example. "Mind my tongue? Twilightstar Twilightstar, ya ask too much o' me! Stayin' quiet an' polite? Im gonna diiiiiiieeee."
Ironic considering that if he pushed it (and Dawnstar) he really WAS gonna die. For all his joking he would try his best, even if some level of snark was unavoidable.
Seriously for all he grumbled, low faux growl prompting the kittens to kick his chin all riled up, as Twilightstar attacked his face into order the asks were small in the scheme of things. Crowtooth didnt groom not becuase he hated being clean, mostly just because he was lazy and saw no point when he was sure to get filthy again quickly with his tunneling habits.
It was a still a bit of a shame though, he was actually handsome if he put the effort in, kinda rougish. Whiiiiich was a double shame because its not like that'd go to use AT ALL given Crowtooths dating habits, or lack thereof.
"Ugh, sure Ill do somethin' wit' my fur I guess. JUST fer the gatherin's though, the clan already knows Im a 'dirt-skunk' so theres no savin' my non existent reputation wit' them."
They all knew how the tom was and he wasnt changing, new rank or not.
That seemed to spark a memory though and the tom opened one narrow mischievous eye to muse. "Maybe being a weird high rank is tradition fer windclan. I was a kitten but I remember the queens comin' back from the gatherin' whinin' how you took a nap on the seastone in front o' everyone! Really the crow callin' the raven black there aint ya~"

Jaggedkit peeked through still mostly closed lids at the big cat next to him. There was a lot of missing bits, just like Straws had said. He felt uneasy at the sight but also oddly curious. What could have caused missing bits to look like this now? Who had bitten her so many times to removed so much fur? Obeying her request, he back up a few steps and then made his way to the other side of her. Using his two tiny paws, he began to roll up the old and destroyed nest like how the older she cat was doing. "Well my first question is why you live up here all alone?" he asked sparing Twighlightstar a few glances as he worked. The question of how she ended up this way was one that was burning in the back of mind demanding to be answered! But then again, he might upset her and then all his other questions would be left unanswered. Ask the basic questions first Jaggedkit.
"It was very difficult to climb up here so it might cause others to visit you less." he explained, well that would bother most cats. Not getting visitors and all but Jaggedkit kinda liked that idea. No one to bother him, ofcourse his siblings would be invited to stay with him but no one else. That would be nice, maybe that's what Missingbits liked. "Did you move here because the warriors den was too crowded?" he'd understand if she said yes, he stuck his head in there once to look for his dad only to see rows upon rows of nests and older cats. The air in there was thick! Jaggedkit didn't know how Snowydad could survive in a den like that.

Twilightstar lifted her hind leg to scratch at an itch behind her as she listened to Fadingdawn's rebuttal. She couldn't help but find herself getting a little annoyed with the she-cat. "So Lightningstorm is lying to me about what you said?" She quired, pinning her ears back. She didn't see what Lightningstorm would get out of that. Not to mention, she's never taken the medicine cat for much of a liar. Scarastic, playful, stubborn, sassy, but certainly not a liar.
"You are Cardinalpaw's mentor. You must train and take responsibility for him. Yet you're telling me his disrespect and attitude are not your problem is quite concerning. You've been given the honor of guiding these young cats into warriorhood, if you want to turn a blind eye to their wrongdoings, I'll reassign them both at the next meeting. Hopefully, their next mentor will do better than you." If she got yowled at for something regarding the apprentice, yet was choosing not to tell her who, she couldn't assume it was probably Crowtooth, Lightingstorm, or someone else she selectively decided to respect.
"Leechscar and Lightningstorm both said they watched you come up and try and take over the patrol from Willowpaw. Yet you're telling me you did not." Twilightstar huffed. Someone was lying then. "It seems you've forgotten that Leechscar has permission to be controlling. He earned the right when he became a Fury. He holds a rank higher than the average warrior as do all the furies, and thus sits above you in rank. As far as I have heard, if you act like a kit, you will be treated like one in return. You going off on him and running out of camp before he can reply, is rather immature." Leechscar was a lot of things, but a bully wasn't one of them. Fadingdawn made it sound like he was out to get her or something. Yet it seemed like the other way around to the leader.
"Here's the deal, as I've yet to hear anything that would make change my mind about this. You can either take the punishment or feel free to leave the clan in exile. I can not have you disrespecting the furies or training apprentices wrong." Twilightstar was done trying to discuss this matter with her.

Yay, new baby. Twilightstar cocked her head as one of Leopardsong's bunch arrived in her den. "Hello to you too." She purred without getting out of her nest. "In battle, and no, I'm not telling you the stories. You'll have bad dreams and I'll feel bad when Leopardsong has to try and put you back to bed." She told her with a chuckle.
The WindClan matriarch fought a losing battle with a yawn while listening to Crowtooth. She gave a mild chuckle as he called her a hypocrite, which in hindsight was very true.
"That was one time and I was downright exhausted. If you had to deal with the same mess your predecessor left you that mine did, you'd want a nap too." Twilightstar smiled, the start of her leadership had been such a pain. Back then she had stepped up because someone had to, and she walked a long and unstable path riddled with danger to get WindClan back onto its paws enough to challenge ShadowClan and prove to the other clans that they were more than just bunnies.
However, she hadn't thought about the repercussions that would have caused nor Dawnstar. She wouldn't say she regretted it, but so many lives and so much blood on her paws. If she truly had to leave all this behind to Crowtooth, she didn't want to leave the same legacy Brightstar unfortunately had. For him or these kits. She learned to give the tom some more affectionate licks before resting her head on him. "Nap time, I'm tired." She grumbled and nuzzled into the tom.
[I ran out of steam with this post if you can't tell. But we can wrap it up here so reply is optional]
Twilightstar waited to continue her cleaning until Jaggedkit joined her on her other side. Once the kit got to work, she followed suit and finished rolling the old moss up and tossing it towards the opening in the den.
"Leaders always get their own den, I'm not sure why, but that's tradition..." She started and then paused when Jaggedkit further elaborated. It seemed like he wanted to know why she had this den in particular. Honestly, that's a good question. She hadn't liked the den at first, but now leaping into it had become second nature to her.
"Though it's difficult to get in here, it doesn't seem to sway the numerous visitors I get. So many kits get in here without any problems, your sister, in particular, didn't seem to have any issues trying to steal my nest when she visited." Twilightstar trilled in amusement. Once finished with disposing of the old moss, the leader turned to grab the new moss and laid it down where the old one had been.
"Quite frankly, I do miss sleeping with my clanmates, especially when leaffall and leafbare come. But as this is how things are when a cat becomes a leader, I've never had much interest in changing it." The she-cat slowly added in new moss while forming the new nest. Though it was rare, she did get a few cats and kits interested in naping with here once in a blue moon, the bigger the nest the better.
Ferretkit poked his head into the leader's den. His gaze looked around, he finally spotted Twilightstar sitting on her nest. "Um...Twilightstar..." Ferretkit said nervously as he walked into the den, and right up to her. Sitting down in front of her, he said. "I'm sorry for my behavior, but I'm ready to receive my punishment. I know you are doing this so I may learn."
Coyotekit The Prince Of WindClan
He/Him | WC Kit | Oldest Son of Twilightstar | 1 moon old
Coyotekit managed to waddle his way up to Mama's den, his tail swishing. Scrabbling his little claws to get up the the maple tree, he hauled himself up. "Hi Mommy!" he purred, snuggling up against her. Looking up with wide kit eyes, he admired her. All those scars looked SUPER COOL! "I just wanna say I'm sowwy for making fun of Coldy. I didn't realize it was mean until Leechscar said something. But I'm going to grow up to be the best big brother ever!" he mewed, puffing out his tiny chest. He'd protect all his siblings! Nobody would ever lay a claw on them, never ever!
"I'm bored though. Can you tell me a story? Maybe about the times you beat up Dawnstah? She sounds really mean. I hope you totally kicked her butt! he said, pummeling Mommy's belly to imitate what she did to the ShadowClan leader.
