Chestnutdust sat in the clearing, the she-cat bright blue eyes traveled around the room before turning her gaze down at her paws where a half eaten bird was. Her gaze shifted up looking around again looking for someone.

Oh where could she be? she thought, her gaze was looking for her sister. Then she saw her, the slim white she-cat with gray stripes on her face and body, her fluffy tail wrapped around her paws and her chilling blue eyes was sitting by herself. Her sister, Snowstorm.

Snowstorm was laying down in camp, minding her own business She wasn't a sleep but just had her eyes closed to rest. Her head was lying on her paws. It was a beautiful day, so how could she not enjoy resting in the sun.

Wolfhive had sank against the edge of the clearing and was drifting off when a random kid approached him.

He sniffled as he blinked the sleep away, tail flicking with mild displeasure. "No. SPIDERTHROAT! Come get your kid!" It was only natural at this point to pawn orphans off on the deputy, it wasn't like Spiderthroat actually knew who any of his kids were anyway.

The tom would eventually get all of the dirt out of his fur. One day. Truly. But today was not that day and for now his paws were still dirty. Head turning to the call of Wolfhive. Ah. One escaped.

A twitch of his tail as he stepped forwards towards his kit and the Hornet. "Geeze. They really need to learn how to behave." he hissed, too tired to even fight against the fact that A, this was not his, and B, this isn't one of his 'children' either. A complete stranger now in the midst of the chaos that was 'his' kits.

"C'mon runt. Into the nursery I'm sure your siblings are wonderin if you escaped successfully or not."

He's used to not being wanted, but never had another cat tried to pawn him off onto someone else. Lynxkit doesn't even have siblings!! Well, he kind of did? It's complicated, and he doesn't understand, but he knows he wasn't treated the same and it hurt. Instead of going with the weirdo cat who doesn't even know him, Lynxkit promptly dives for Wolfhive's forepaws to attempt to squeeze himself between them. The weirdo won't take him!!!

"You're stupid. And not my dad. This my dad cause I never had one. They said I'd have to find my own parents and I'd be lucky. So I did. And it's not you cause you don't even know my name!"

Another one?? Softdaisy could have sworn she’d kept track of all… one, two, three, four, five, six— “Okay I’m coming!” Not that anyone had called her, but hearing three voices, one of which was unmistakably the meowing of a kit, set off alarm bells. A kit out of the Nursery. Nope. Already some of her (they weren’t even hers, heck) kits had fallen sick, Softdaisy would blow a fuse if that happened to any others, thank you very much.

Striding out of the Nursery, huffing and puffing to herself, Softdaisy halted a couple heartbeats later as she registered the scene. Oh… that wasn’t… well… Lynxkit… hm. Golden gaze drifting between said three cats in her line of sight, Softdaisy pursed her lips. Well, Lynxkit wasn’t her kid, nor her responsibility, but… look, if Weepingwillow wasn’t going to look after the strays, then who would?

More for Softdaisy’s collection! If the kit was willing, he’d fit right in alongside Loonkit… and though Softdaisy wanted to say Spiderthroat would have never been the wiser… she now could instead hope his memory was awful enough that he forgot this whole escapade. Wishful thinking, but ah well. “Lynxkit.” Softdaisy wandered over, offering Wolfhive a brief smile. Spiderthroat, she didn’t even bother look at. Safe to say, the Queen held grudges. “You’re right. I wouldn’t want him as a father either.” She would wholeheartedly agree with the stupid statement also. Albeit internally.

Now on to… how to sidetrack the kid to make him leave the Head Hornet alone? If it was Spiderthroat being pestered, Softdaisy would have sat back and watched. But she was fond of Bumblestar’s kid. Maybe because he’d been there for Briarberry’s kitting unlike someone. “Would you like any help finding parents, Lynxkit?” Look, she was not opposed to adding another to the family nest while Spiderthroat was looking away, if that’s what the kid wanted.

The little fun outing was a good idea. Shadeclaw needed the break and so did Mudhound really, a good casual time without the burden and stress of hunting or patrolling. A restful period out of the cramped locked down camp, and now Mudhound even had gifties to show for it!


Some were more.... sloppy then others, Mudhound early attempts a bit of a disaster but all were holding up so far and the tripod was wreathed in flower crowns, set on distributing them all.



There was no options here, every cat who was getting a flower crown would be crowned, like it or not.

"HEYOOOOO I GOT PRESENTS!!!!"

While everyone was stunned by the sudden volume the tripod moved and started slamming them on cats heads.

Puppy puppy PUPPY @Beaan ! Heya kiddo you get a crown too Grandma called these flowers heal-all, I dunno why though I dunno that they heal anything so I dont get the name. Maybe you can experiment with them once youre done wearing them? Still, perfect for mister medicine cat!


Hollowpaw @Neptune. the spikey! I think you need to have a break like you deserve so for the medicine cat who needs some calm I got you a crown of catmint! You can use it for herbs if you dont wanna wear though but I think it looks great on you!


CLOUDY!!! @Omari Im so sorry we've been unable to hang out, things have been so busy! But for your fluffy self I got some white and puffy dandelion crown for your fluffy couldy self! Just dont blow on it too hard.


Finally......" Mudhound was much more... shy now approaching the last cat, almost hat in hand really. "Ummm for the sunset-bird @taillow I got the prettiest flowers possible, its only right. I made sure to pick all the thorns off of these sunset roses so dont worry about them being pokey. I-I hope you like it."

This crown above all the others was the best constructed, the care that went into it evident at every turn. Still, Mudhound couldnt really seem to handle the act of giving it to Redhawk and, blushing furiously and shuffling for a moment finally broke and bolted with an "Okay bye!" and was gone
