* He couldn't move as he was frozen in fear. The hawk swooped down and stretched out its claw. It grabbed at Red and took back off with him between its claws. As he was being carried off he screamed for Cobweb. *

Cobweb eyes widen, as she jumped up in the air and reached at the hawk. Her claw snagged it just barely. "Mama's got you, it's okay!" she cried, but suddenly she felt herself lose her grip and before she knew it she was on the ground with a thump. Pain filled her body, but she ignored it as she stood up with a limp and looked up at the sky. "Red!" she screamed. "Red!" she kept screaming his name as she limped to go find him. She screamed his name until she was losing her voice. Tears fell down the she-cats face.

* He kicked and squirmed in it's claws as he was carried away. In the distance Cobweb could hear him calling her still, but it was dying and going quiet. When the hawk did land it accidentally dropped him and he wailed as he hit the forest floor. He whined and groaned from the pain and whimpered for Cobweb. He tried to crawl around and yelped in pain. His young and frail body battered and bruised. He kept trying to crawl back home, but he couldn't remember what home was. He crawled and crawled hoping he would find them. It was almost a full day later when he could smell home. He crawled and crawled as fast as he could drag himself. His tummy rumbling and his legs screaming in pain. He tried to call for Cobweb to the best of his worn out throat could do. Asfrid was curled in the den around the grieving Cobweb. She knew it was rough to watch it happen. She was grieving too, but she had to stay strong for her friend. *

Cobweb sobbed, the tears couldn’t stop falling. She lost her only kit. She lost the kits she gave birth to and now the kit she adopted. “I don’t think I’m supposed to be a mother.” She cried, tears continued to fall. “Why? Why can’t I be a mother? Why do I have to lose all my kits.” She screamed. She turned her face and pressed into Asfrids chest.

* She tried to comfort her. She licked over the distraught she-cats fur trying to help it lie flat. She perked her head up as a tiny mew made it to her ears. She got up and padded to the den entrance and looked outside. Her eyes were immediately filled with happiness and worry. She called back into the den. *
" Cobweb! He made it back! He managed to find home! "
* She lumbered to Red and curled around him and tried to lick his wounds and cuts clean. Red whined and whimpered from the pain. He tried calling for Cobweb again, but his voice was shot. He gave a slight mew that was filled with pain. *
" Mama... "

Cobweb ears perked up, her gaze shifted to outside the den. Standing up she walked out of the den and into the forest clearing. Her gaze shifted to Asfrid, then on the little red flop of fur. "Red." she whispered.

* Asfrid stayed curled around Red and holding him close. Tears of joy coming out in waves. She looked at Cobweb and nodded. Red again mewed for Cobweb. His small body battered and bruised from the fall. A leg laying limp behind him and a giant cut reaching from his chin to his forehead across his left eye. *
" Mama..... "

"My baby!" she cried, as she rushed forward to Asfrid's side and started to lick Red, franticly. "Are you hurt? You look hurt!"

* Asfrid moved to the side and let Cobweb have his full attention. Red whimpered and winced in pain when Cobweb started to lick him. The cut covering the whole left on his face bleeding heavily. He whined and groaned from the pain. His back left leg twisted and laying limp. *
" I-it hwurts... "

Cobweb stopped licking her son, her gaze turned to his leg. Her eyes widen, she then turned her gaze to Asfrid as to say...do you think it can be fixed.
