At Stormstar’s notice of Rainpaw and Riftpaw’s chattering, the bengal gently swiped the two of them with his tail, signaling with a stern glance to be quiet. As he settled back into a comfy position, he kept his ears perked as she mentioned new Lionhearts. ’New Lionhearts?’ This should be interesting. His purr of Rowanmane being added to the team was abruptly cut off into a choke as Stormstar appointed him Head Lionheart.
”Th-Thank you, Stormstar! I won’t let you or RiverClan down!” He choked out with another purr that shook his whole body. What an honor! He glanced playfully at Ravenpaw. ”Better hurry- I’m two steps ahead of you now!” The new Head Lionheart joked before chanting out the new lionheart and medicine cat apprentice. ”Rowanmane! Cobwebfern! Rowanmane! Cobwebfern!”

cobwebfern cheered loudly for the new lionhearts, though her ears pricked at the mention of berryshine picking a new apprentice. she wondered vaguely who it was, knowing full well her best friend would train this apprentice and help heal riverclan.

hey what. wh?? what.?? wha??? hello??? her? her as the apprentice??? wh- whoa. the cheering of her name dulled in cobwebfern's ears and she raised herself shakily to her three paws, smiling. ' thank you. all of you. i'll- i promise, stormstar, and all of you, i will help bring this clan to the glory we all deserve. ' with that, she returned to her sitting position, though not before blinking slowly and kindly at berryshine. her best friend, her mentor. berryshine. cobwebfern was the medicine cat apprentice now.. and she stalled, considering the past few.
tansypaw, specifically. she smiled at the memory of the old apprentice, and tilted her head. tansy would be proud.

Talonpaw picks at the ground underneath his paws with unsheathed claws as Stormstar continues with the announcements. She only briefly pauses to gently hush two of his fellow apprentices. He's not really paying attention until the end, when Cobwebfern is announced as Berryshine's apprentice. He jerks his head up sharply, narrowing his eyes in the former warrior's direction before rolling his eyes with a derisive scoff. Wasn't she one of the cats who had played at medicine cat during ThunderClan's attack on camp instead of fighting like she should have been? Plus, she was an adult, and the all the medicine cats that had started as adults failed. Falconfeather and Mistyshard, both shameful excuses for RiverClan cats. Talonpaw mentally adds Cobwebfern to the list. When he inevitably gets injured, he's going to make sure it's Berryshine who treats him and not the wannabe who gives speeches about bringing glory as if it's her job.

Upon hearing the announcement, Floodsight's dim blue eyes glittered with amusement. She was excited for Brokenstream and so extremely proud. After all that time they spent on late night practices and long day training session, it might've all been worth it. She chanted with the rest to welcome the warriors' new ranks, "Rowanmane! Rowanmane! Brokenstream! Brokenstream! Cobwebfern! Cobwebfern!"
As soon as she'd finished, Floodsight bounded her way into the sea of cats to find her friend. There in the crowd was the bengal tom with the two siblings, Rainpaw and Ravenpaw. The silver warrior made her way over to his Brokenstream a playful bump on the side and purred with a hint of humor, "Congrats! No more falling into streams, are we?"

Mintkit listened to the announcements with wide eyes. A new leader, Stormystar, who used to be the Duskycat deputy? Wow! She had wondered how a new leader was chosen, and now she had the answer. Meetings were the best. Oh- A new deputycat! Owlytaloncat? She didn't know who he was. A new head lionheart, Brokenstreamy. She didn't know what a lionheartcat was. She would ask a queenmother later! Though when the next announcement was called, her eyes widened even more. A new medicinecat apprentice! Cobweby! Which means... She gasped, looking at Berrycat. Berrycat has an apprentice now! Wow! She cheered the names along with everyone else. "Owlytalon! Brokenstreamy!" And especially... "Cobweby!! Cobweby!!" Yes, she was convinced now that meetings were the best.

At the unexpected nudge, Brokenstream staggered slightly. However, his startled gaze quickly turned into a delighted one once he realized it was Floodsight. "Thanks, Floods!" The newly appointed Head Lionheart purred in response, gently headbutting the she-cat's shoulder. "Hey- it's been a long time since then!" The bengal mewed with faked indignance. "...But I guess I owe you thanks. I wouldn't be standing here right now if you didn't help me back then." He conceded, rolling his eyes in playful defeat. He prodded Floodsight gently in the side with a paw. "And if I remember correctly, we both fell." He teased.
As Floodsight explained the announcement, Waspmeadow looked toward the new riverclan medicine cat and leader, wide-eyed. A sense of pride blossomed inside her chest, and a smile began to tug at her muzzle, "Thanks, Flood."
Maybe things were going to be alright after all. She couldn't possibly think of another cat more worthy of leading their Clan– she had faith already. As Stormstar decided on a new deputy, Owltalon, the clan almost immediately began chanting. Waspmeadow took a moment to look around at her clanmates, then joined in with their support, "Owltalon, Owltalon!"
The golden-patched molly piped down after a few minutes of chanting, as Stormstar spoke up once more, and same again, Waspmeadow joined in with the cheering, "Cobwebfern! Brokenstream! Rowanmane!"
She watched Floodsight amble off as the announcements came to a close, and Waspmeadow seeked out the warrior den for a nap– well deserved, she thought.

"Oh, come on!" Floodsight warmly chuckled at her friend's response. Back then, they were young and feared the waters like no others. Her rescuing was more of her being desperate to grab onto something out of sheer fear for both of their lives. Perhaps it was by luck they both manage to flail out of the stream, relatively unscathed. It ended in coughs of water and a whole ton of nervous laughter built up from adrenaline. The rescue went both ways and perhaps, because of that, they'd built a tight knit friendship out of the same near death experience. "If anything, I owe you thanks too~"
"Enough thanking me, this is your moment." Floodsight insisted with amusement in her tone, "I'm sure you'll do absolutely amazing! If you ever need anything, I'll be more than happy to help out."
She's been silently observing how the things work in this clan and one thing Soaringpaw realized was that this camp was new to riverclan. They've just moved in. Their last meeting place was named after..a flood...that the clan endured. So..if she's understanding everything correctly..Riverclan survived through a flood at some point, and then some other incident happened whatever it may have been that riverclan also survived. And after they survived, they found this new camp. And the meeting place has a name. She didn't know what the name was before, but now it's the Skyridge.
And who the hell is 'Fades'? Probably a nickname of sorts. It sounded like he was attacked if all Stormstar found was his scent and blood. Gosh, so she was right about being wary about the area surrounding her before she joined riverclan afterall.
Okay..so..this 'Fades' guy was a leader before Stormstar. And a questionable one at that. And he was Stormstar's brother. She wasn't sure how the clan leadership ranking worked. Apparently leader get lives and now they need to earn it. Where did these lives come from in the first place? And there's more clans nearby. So she just so happen to run into this one first. Gathering? Was that like a gathering of all the clans? She wondered how that would look like. Riverclan by itself was huge and she couldn't imagine what it'd be like for that number to be combined with the other clans.
Up next were some announcements...deputy..medicine cat..lionheart..Soaringpaw does not know who any of these cats are except for Brokenstream. Everyone was cheering so that seems like a good sign... So..Owltalon becomes deputy..and Berryshine..became a full medicine cat. And then Cobwebfern becomes the new medicine cat apprentice. Cobwebfern consists of two letters, which means she must've been a warrior before. But since Cobwebfern didn't turn into Cobwebpaw when being turned into a medicine cat apprentice, then that means that a warrior apprentice and a healer apprentice..is very different; including how the naming works. But Berryshine was named Berrypaw before..so..she probably became a medicine cat apprentice when she was still a warrior apprentice. So basically:
If a normal apprentice becomes a medicine cat apprentice, they keep their original name that they had when they were training for a warrior. BUT if a cat that's already a warrior becomes a medicine cat apprentice, they keep their warrior name upon getting the title without needing to have 'paw' behind their name. Yeah, makes sense she supposes
The apprentice was surprised that her mentor was appointed as head lionheart. So not only was he good, but really good. At least in that case she knew she was in the hands of a good cat that'd teach her how to do stuff in Riverclan. She was still slightly wary of the cats around her, but she seems to have been right about the clan being a big family and stuff. She just didn't expect so many cats to be living here. It felt like she was an observer looking on the live around the clan but she wasn't actually part of it.
