Darkrose sat in the clearing with a half fish by her paws, her blue eyes looked around the clearing at all the other cats, but then her eyes stopped on Brokenstream. A handsome tom with a charming smile. Darkrose has had a crush on him for a while now, but never got the nerve to tell him. Her blue eyes watched him, she suddenly went into a trance like dream.

A yawn escaped his jaws as the tom took a moment to lounge lazily around the clearing. As he cast his gaze around, he locked his green eyes with blue ones. He looked a Darkrose quizzically, moving towards her. "Everything alright? Need something from me?" Brokenstream asked, concern furrowing his brow.

It's with something of a churning in her gut that Larkwing swallows down Stormstar's words. '...Fix her leg, let me know when you're done.' Blue eyes train on her as the warrior allows herself to be helped to her three functional paws, and she deliberately refuses to meet that gaze. Shame burns her pelt. She should have done better... is there a way to avoid the future conversation? Can she get out of this somehow?

No. She knows there's no avoiding it... just wishful thinking, right? But... she doesn't need to focus on that right now. Right now she's more focused on the fact that good lord that hurts when she instinctively tries to flick her tail. Cool. This is fun.

Darkrose heard someone talking to her, once she got out of her trace. Her eyes widen as she saw Brokenstream was in front of her. "Oh yes! I'm okay." she smiled. Her heart thumping in her chest. "Do you....want share this fish?" she asked softly, turning her gaze away from him and down at her paws.

Wildfoxglove looked at the fish pile in interest while standing near it. She was feeling a bit hungry and licked her maw. "Which fish should I choose?" Wildfoxglove thought while her eyes widened. "This salmon looks delicious! Also, the smaller trout is too."

Frozenkit was hiding beside the nursery, looking straight ahead. Her blind eyes staring at nothing. She was scared, her heart thumping but her tummy growling.

Was it just her, or did Rosehawk sound displeased all the time. And it was only when she was around. Had her one mistake the gathering caused that much disarray?

Gently walking forward, the shaded tabby avoided any mud. Then stood before her mentor, her face brightening at the mention of the hunting patrol.

"Did you hear! I caught a whole bird! It was as big as me. Both Floodsight and Duskleaf were pleased when I actually caught it." the moments the words were spoken into the morning must, Cricket'Paw regretted it.

Rosehawk wasn't in a happy mood. Among other things. So why would telling her, someone else was teaching her help that scenario, perking up slightly, the apprentice changed the subject.

"So... Where are we going hunting?"

A mixture of confusion and disbelief flitted across his gaze as Darkrose insisted nothing was wrong. ’Then why were you just staring off into space and acting so jumpy?’ He wanted to ask but refrain. Share a fish? The tom prodded the fresh-kill gently with a paw. Well, maybe she was just trying to make friends but didn’t know how. Like Riftpaw! He glanced back up at the she-cat, expression friendly. ”Sure, it looks good.” Brokenstream mewed, settling down beside the she-cat as he took a bite.

Blackfrost

Blackfrost followed close behind the two, to quite the bumper crop of moss blanketed over an ancient, long-fallen tree. Both Weepingwind and Nectardrip went about their work immediately, not that Blackfrost would expect anything less from grown warriors. Nevertheless, it was heartening to see the younger warriors working hard as they should. It gave Blackfrost hope for RiverClan's future in the face of their recent trials.

She herself went about slicing moss away section by section with practiced ease. Gathering moss was about as menial and uninteresting as tasks got, and yet so very essential. Blackfrost had a lersonal view that the chore was actually quite therapeutic in a way. Once she had gotten the hang of it so many seasons ago, it had become almost second nature. This gave it the quality of being the kind of task you could do a lot of introspection with. It was relaxing.

Soon enough, she had her own collected heap of the nest material. She gave a quietly amused huff at Weepingwind's teasing jab as she packed the moss together into one semi transportable lump. This should be more than enough for the few elders RiverClan had, but considering her own mother, Waterlily, was among them, Blackfrost wouldn't accept anything less than the best from herself in regards to their care. Really, any cat that had lived in RiverClan that long deserved to rest in peace and comfort. StarClan knew they'd been put through quite enough stress even in just these past few moons.
