Trotting along throughout the territory, the newly named leader kept her ears and nose alert for any signs of trouble, eyes scanning the undergrowth. She'd made it a point to have daily walks through the territory just to make sure everything was calm (and that none of the other cats from the other three Clans were here.
Often times they brought her across outsider though - like now. Eyes locking onto a - oh, ick... Stormstar didn't bother scrunching up her nose as she slowed, careful to not approach too quickly. Even froma distance she could smell the kit, see the bugs crawling through its fur.
"Where're your parents, kid?" she called out, narrowing her eyes to study the small kit.

The young little scruff ears pointed up as his teary eyes looked up at the Riverclan leader. A cat!... and not just any cat, an adult! Clove bounded over to the stranger without a second thought and began to ramble.
"Clove! I'm Clove!...(yada yada)...Are you my new mama?...(yada yada)...Why do you smell like fish?...(yap yap)...Do you have food? Am I your food...." His mind was going all over the place... just like his nasty bug friends. One thing that surely was peculiar, was him not noticing himself scratching like a damned dog til he bled.

Stormstar - RiverClan Leader
As soon as the kit began to bound forward, the RiverClan leader took the same amount of steps backwards with flattened ears. There was no answer to her question, which left Stormstar a bit irritated. Looking one way, then another, she sighed. She couldn't take this kit back to the Clan and risk getting all the other kits infected with... whatever he had, and she wasn't keen on picking him up either. "...Kay. 'M gonna need you to... go that way, okay?" Using a paw she pointed behind them further into the outskirts. The blood he made from his scratches mad her want to gag. "You're on Clan territory, 'n cats out here... they'll eat you if they find you." A lie, but she needed to get this... kit off her territory. Eck.
Brokenstream. That was..a rather interesting name..it consisted of two words. Then again her name didn't make any more sense. "Does every cat here have two words in their name...?" she murmured the question, mostly to herself. Brokenstream...like a stream of water that's..been broken? Maybe by rocks of sorts. She's confusing herself now, but she can't help but ponder about it.
This is riverclan...they take care of each other. Kind of like a big family. What would life there be like..? Everyone must have their own roles in this..clan. This cat was apparently a lionheart..? Another name with two words combined into one.. The name 'Lionheart' certainly suggest a role with bigger responsibilities and more crucial than the normal rank. Which seems to be warrior. He did say they're the backbone of the clan..so they're probably close to the leader of the clan in terms of responsibilites... And they train apprentices. Apprentices? How to hunt..how to fight..how to contribute to the clan as a whole. That was something she wanted to learn. But how would she find the same sources as them when she was completely alone?
"Hunting and fighting..so every warrior here was taught by the warriors before them..." He said she'd be one too. So..all the apprentices in this clan are probably around her age as well. But his guesses are wrong. "8 moons"..I think his guesses aren't far off...she supposed. She shut down any doubt that occour to her mind. She didn't need those right now. She tried to keep as neutral of a face as possible as she refused to let her expression falter in any way. Her name is Sora, and she's 8 moons old. "My parents aren't exactly owning up to their responsibilities for having a kid right now" wherever the hell they were. They were supposed to teach her those things as well so she could actually survive. Or...maybe they did but she forgot. But she still remembered how to properly talk and make conversations so clearly she wouldn't have fully forgotten everything about her survival skills had she been thought it. She would've enjoyed learning about those things. Where were they and why had they abandoned her!?

Purring in amusement, Brokenstream nodded his response. ”Yes, we do. Kits are usually called…well we’ll use my name for example. When I was a kit, I was called Brokenkit. Then when I was an apprentice, I was called Brokenpaw. Turning into a warrior, I got my warrior name- Brokenstream.” He tried to explain the best he could, but he honestly wasn’t sure if this young stranger would understand. ”So you…” He began, prodding her gently with his forepaw, ”Would be Sorapaw if you were in RiverClan.” He explained, but a frown crossed his face. ”You’re the one with an odd name around these parts.” He joked, hoping to get Sora to relax a bit.
”You’re young. Too young to be out this far on your own. Why don’t you come back to camp with me, and we can talk to Duskstar about you staying.” He offered kindly, rising back to his paws. ”That is, if you want to stay. If you stay, you won’t be able to go back to your parents. A Clan cat stays with their Clan.” He warned her. ”Otherwise, I will have to escort you off Clan territory.” His expression was apologetic, but his new was firm. ”You’ll probably be assigned a new name, though. A Clan name.”

You gotta go that way. 'M sure you're Papa will be along soon." That at least made her feel a bit better - there was a grown cat who was looking after him.
...Ugh, she really did not want to pick them up and risk getting anything on her to bring back tot he Clan. Plus, they seemed old enough to talk and know a bit, and run (since they had bounded straight to her), so she figured eventually they'd get the message and leave.
[ so because of how badly covered in flea's clove is, storm will not be accepting them into the clan as she doesn't want to take him back and spread it to the other kits, especially since it appears bad enough that he's bleading ^^ ]

Clove whined and begged for a while before accepting he was back to being alone. "o...okay..." The little scrap sniffled out and soon left, limping.
So the second part of their name changes as they get older…Brokenkit, Brokenpaw, Brokenstream? So it hasn’t always been Brokenstream. Someone actually named a kit 'Broken'? Maybe his name wasn’t as fullt thought through from birth as she expected "So your name changes as you progress.." kits have the word 'kit' behind their name and apprentices have 'paw'. "the name Brokenkit sounds less than fortunate. Brokenpaw too" Brokenpaw sounds like someone that broke their paw. It was worse than her name. Honestly. But she was the one with the odd name? So it was normal for cats here to give their child weird names in front of 'kit'? Her name was odd in that it doesn’t have much of a meaning to her understanding but at least it doesn’t sound like a curse.
Sora. Was it a name she gave herself or a name her parents gave her in the past? The more she thinks about it the more she figured if her parents abandoned her in the middle of the woods then they’d probably not give as much crap to actually name her something good. That statement doesn’t answer anything though.
She was too young to travel by herself. She was being treated like a child. 8 moons were..considered young. But they were saying she can’t survive by herself. And she hates that he’s right about it. It doesn’t matter whether or not she wants to go back her parents. She doesn’t have any parents anymore. Even if they’re still alive, if they were willing to leave her for dead they’re not her parents anymore. "Fine, I’ll come with you. Take me to Duskstar. I won’t complain so long as no one in your clan sneaks up from behind and kill me”. She was slightly nervous. And maybe just a little scared. If she was meeting their leader, what would said leader look like? What would she think of her? And she’d have to take one a clan name. Was..that worth throwing away the name she had claimed already? If she wasn’t Sora anymore, then what would it be? But she wants to give her life a meaning. She learn and be better for her own sake. She was slightly surprised they allowed outsiders in this easily. Though..that was probably because of her age. She doesn’t know whether that’s good or bad

Tapping a claw briefly on the ground as he appeared deep in thought, the Lionheart suddenly turned his curious gaze on Sora, completely ignoring her comment on his “unfortunate”, as she put it, name. He had his ideas why he was named that, but was never brave enough as a kit to ask. He certainly wasn’t broken, not physically, and as far as he thought, not mentally. ”Sora, Sora, Sora…” He muttered for a moment. ”No, that won’t do. I don’t know what a ’Sora’ is.” Brokenstream finally said.
The bengal’s demeanor at this point was completely friendly, but he didn’t try to invade the young, scared she-cats space as he gave a warm purr. ”How about…Soaringpaw? It sounds a lot like ’Sora’.” He suggested kindly. However, he did not wait for answer as he began to head back to camp. ”Come along, now, Soaringpaw. I’ll bring you to the leader’s den for now so we can talk to Duskstar.” He beckoned her to follow with a flick of his tail.

It took Inferno a moment to finally lift her head up and look up at the stranger. There was no hostility, or at least none that she was able to scope out right away, but there was a strong smell of fish. "Uh, yeah, she just dropped and fell asleep." The kit rolled herself back onto her paws, her attention once more returning to her mother's dull eyes. It was weird, seeing her mother in forever sleep with her eyes still open. "She's not going to wake up, I know because she got all cold. I'm Inferno, mama would tell me it was another word for fire."
