Re: Kit Corrals
Batkit winced at Mothkit's yelp from inside the den, and watched as the other kit crawled out into the daylight. "Are you okay?" she mewed, flicking an ear toward her. Maybe there was a danger within the dens..
Oh, Sneezekit watched as any Seriousness in the medicine cat's eyes disappeared after the kits' explanation. If she wasn't worried, then why should Sneezekit be? Everything was fine, so they just had to forget all about it. It would be just like it never even happened then! Easy! Especially considering how Great and Strong they and Littlekit were, duh. Yup.
But okay cool! Class was starting! Goodbye, bad stuff! Hello, fun times with friends! Sneezekit scrunched up their face real good for concentrating. They were gonna do so much learning, and then become the smartest cat maybe ever!
So Sneezekit listened to the medicine cat's words, and their face fell just a little. What not to put in your mouth? Um, okay. Not exactly very healing-related. As Lightningstorm had said, this sounded more like a lesson for a Certain Poofing Intruder. Did Lightningstorm know about the pebble Sneezekit ate? But that was moons ago, plus it was a total accident! And a Secret... In any case, their rock-eating days were far behind them! But this was a question that Sneezekit could answer, and maybe look really smart in the process!
"Umm, basically anything that's not food. Plus maybe enemies, 'cause I think you can bite them in battle and stuff," Sneezekit chirped. "Oh, wait! 'Cause I heard you can chew herbs up and spit them at cats. For, like, healing and stuff." So that was what this conversation had to do with herbs! Despite their dark, rock-eating past, they simply could not comprehend the medicine cat's goal of keeping grubby kits from eating random plants.

Right. So... this all sounded like a wild game of pretend that was now being spoken of as a legendary battle against the vanishing cat. Or... a spirit of some sort had gotten into the nursery to tease kits and pretend to eat them. From what she had gathered, no one had gotten hurt, so assuming it even had been an ancestor come to check on the little ones, she couldn't imagine this was something to worry over too greatly. Still, perhaps she should make a note of asking Leopardsong. She was the head queen, after all. Or maybe even Firestorm. Any excuse to talk to the pretty tabby was always a good one. And besides, Littlekit was concerned, wasn't she? Pretty certain the ginger queen would want to know about her daughter's escapades.
Not one to squash dreams or tease kits for daring to have vivid imaginations, however, Lightningstorm raised her brows, opening her mouth lightly as she gave them a properly impressed look, nodding in approval. "Well if you ask me, it sounds like this bloke needed to take this lesson right on with you lot. Someone should have taught him that you don't put kits in your mouth. Otherwise you suffer the consequences. Especially if you both powerhouses are involved, isn't that right?"
Almond shaped eyes closed momentarily, a purr escaping her as curled her tail around herself, settling down easily between the two that had decided to join her. It would appear that one was missing, but in earnest, Burningkit hadn't seemed all that interested in the first place. While the herbalist would never deny anyone knowledge without good reason, she would never force it upon them either. Learning should be done for the love of learning. For the good what you know can do for you and your clan. Half arsed students were honestly not her highest priority, especially considering how busy her days tended to be. These two had proven to be quite interested, however. Perhaps she could teach them a couple of basics once they learned to maybe not put things that shouldn't be in their mouths in it.
"Now, I think Sneezekit is right. You both came here to learn some herbs, didn't you, loves? So. Before I go teaching you anything of use, we need to learn that unlike that nasty intruder you lot got at the nursery, we don't put many things in our mouths. Tell me, can either of you think of things we don't go eating? And no. Kits is not a valid answer. I already gave you that one, and I'm the only cheeky one here," she chirped, a small giggle escaping her as she let the two kits respond, knowing a back and forth engagement was probably more fun for the younger ones.
Littlekit fell silent and took a seat beside Sneezekit, ready to learn. Ready to go. Ready for... well, literally anything that meant she could be outside the nursery. She loved FireMa and all, but being in there was so boring. Doing a little wiggle in place, she listened to Sneezekit answer MedicineMa before the little calico would chime in herself.
"BUGS. Ya can't eat the bugs!! That's jus' mean!" She chimed in so confidently that if she was given any weird looks, she'd just give them a weird look back. "Uhmm.... I tried eatin' a feather before, you can't eat those, nope, nope, nope. Not food even if it's on the food," she shook her head very dramatically to emphasize the gross thing she tried consuming. "There's a lot! And some of the cool things Sneezekit mentioned!" Then, she waited for them to continue.
As this particular kitten grew and experienced life she was deciding rapidly that she did not like a lot of things. She did not like when things were too bright, finding the summer sun just overwhelming and only venturing out of the nursery early morning and evening. She did not like how loud the rest of the kittens were, finding them shrill and shrieky, full of nonsense words and noises. She did not like how sticky everything in there sometimes.
And finally she did not like being bored, and mossball was boring. So she was in the corrals for once to avoid the ongoing war in the nursery, digging in the dirt. She didnt like digging either, but there was something buried here that looked interesting.
That her sibling was ALSO here was irrelevant until Bravekit proved interesting-er.

Okay, so like, YEAH, she couuuld mossball or tussle with another kit but she didn't wanna! She wanted to do something different, and that's when she spied Rainkit rummaging through dirt, specks flying in the air.
Bravekit skipped over to her sister, stopping beside her to peer at her work. There was something odd in the soil, kind of an off-white in color. "Whatcha doooin!" Then she threw herself forward to help Rainkit out with dirt removal, only falling over a lil in the process.
raccoonkit tended to spend all her day eating, drinking, sleeping, and then grabbing some stuff to fill up her collection. Unfortunately, leaves and dead bugs didn't stay put, so she often needed to get more stuff. The kitten had strayed into the kit corrals as opposed to just wherever in camp. As soon as she had decided to search for stuff there, a silver feather caught in the branches of the maple tree caught her eye. Woah, she didn't have one of those yet!
She stood on her hind legs and made air biscuits. Raccoonkit fell forward and her small, soft paw pads landed on the tree bark. She attempted to scramble up the tree to no avail. This went on for like 15 minutes before trying to knock over the tree (what do you mean that would cause mass destruction upon the camp? no it wouldnt, silly.) also to unsurprisingly no avail. She sat down and silently threw a tantrum.

Windkit did not exactly like intervening in other cats’ businesses, but how could this be? This kit has been trying helplessly to do something that could so easily done with the help of others.
With a playful laugh, Windkit padded up behind Raccoonkit.
“If you’re trynna climb that tree, I know what ya gotta do!” She flexed her claws and placed a paw on the trunk of the tree, “Need help?”

This was becoming a real thing, huh? Littlekit always seemed to end up in the same areas of her sibling, Windkit. It was almost like Little was her shadow or something. The two seemed to get involved in the same chaotic moments. Practicing her not-so-stealthy moves, Littlekit crept from around the nursery to the kit corrals, following Windkit.
She was talking to a kit she hadn't spoken to before, interesting. Then, she overheard it. "You can climb trees?! NO WAY!" Littlekit blurted out, standing up and trotting towards the pair as her presence was exclaimed.
Grumpy and still too imature to handle things 'correctly' the silver kitten stopped her digging to bap Bravekit, not that she was strong enough to do any sort sort of damage, and whine. "Loud! I dont like loud so be quiet or you leave me and digging alone. Inside voice, like Song-Mama says."
None of the other kittens seemed to dislike noise so much but Rainkit was unique like that. Loud noise was bad unless it was her noise and disobey and you got dirt bapped with dirt left on your head.
Rainkit was also a total baby so its not like she knew to hold grudges yet or really was too upset, kinda glad she had someone here to witness her finding a cool thing.
"Im digging. Found something cool! Help me get it out."
Bravekit helping dig would mean Rainkits would not get so dirt too, so that was a plus.

He/him | WC Medicine Cat Apprentice| Moons: 11 | Part Manx cat
|| Rabbitpaw is in his halloween costume ^^ this doesn’t apply to in rp, of course ||
[ Set after current meeting! ]
Rabbitpaw had quite the little hop to his steps as he made his way over towards the kitten corral to teach some lessons. The fire still weighed on him, the fright was still there but he was feeling better after spending time with Crowtooth. Besides, he had heard that a group of kittens had wanted to learn some basic digging skills and that was so exciting! Maybe they would have a full team of tunnelers soon! Crowtooth would certainly be happy about it and so would Dustbunny and Vinepaw. It did make him miss being called a tunneler a little bit but he loved his new role as Miss Lightningstorm’s apprentice besides he gets to tunnel and care for the medicine den which was nice.
“Hollypaw, Strawberrykit, Falconkit! I heard you all wanted to get some digging lessons!” The blonde apprentice called out in a cheery voice and a happy wag of his tail. What would they go over? This was going to be so much fun! They were too little to take out and see any real tunnels so safety regarding travel would probably fall on deaf ears without reinforcement of the knowledge. So maybe just how to hold your paws and how to secure ‘walls’ of each hole they dig? Maybe if they took a liking to it Hollypaw could grab some more lessons from more advanced tunnelers!
For now the apprentice waited for the felines he called for to all gather up and maybe if any curious onlookers were wanting to learn they could learn some too.
