Twenty six moons? Antpaw did not expect such a big number. That was a number closer to his father's age than his. And that was, in fact, an age older than Wolfhive's. Antpaw called him a old bossy cat.

It was as if the cool, pretty new girl in class suddenly turned out to be the same age as your teacher. Antpaw nods numbly. He doean't doubt Echopaw. Not to be rude, but even before she said her age, her size wasn't one of an apprentice.

"Why are you not a warrior?" Antpaw asks. "Demoted?"

"Uh no..." Echopaw replied, "I just came back, and I didn't get enough training to get promoted to warrior rank before I left. I'm working on it soon, maybe we'll become warriors at the same time?" Considering Echopaw had less than 2 moons to get her training done, she seriously doubted it, but maybe Antpaw would get lucky.

Antoaw flicks his tail on the floor silently. It's complicated to explain what he's feeling. He thought Echopaw was a cool cat his age, or close to it, a fighter that he would want to get to know. In the end she turned out to be a defeated wanderer who was much, much older than him. In the end, Antpaw nods and turns away from Echopaw, ignoring her. It would be awkward to speak more, and he didn't know what to say. He doesn't ask any more questions or talk. He just sits by himself grumpily.

They were going to WindClan's border first. Mallowpaw nodded as Risingstorm warned them not to cross the scent markers; she may not have been to any of them, but she knew not to trespass. Some of the younger apprentices might need the reminder, though.

Risingstorm led the way to the border, and Mallowpaw followed with the other apprentices. Usually she relished being out of camp, but right now she was too distracted by her head pounding, by the heat flushing through her body, to appreciate any of it. She just wanted to visit all the notable places and return to camp.

It felt like an age before they got there. The scent of rabbits and heather wafted towards her, somehow managing to get through her mucus-filled nose. Risingstorm didn't tell them anything more than to remember the smell; after all, it was a border, not a landmark. There was no history behind it or important things to be taught. The only things they needed to remember were the scent and its location. Mallowpaw already knew WindClan's scent from gatherings; she had just needed to know where the border was. And now she did. They could move on- although hopefully not right now. She wanted a quick rest before walking again.

risingstorm sat down resting his legs making sure the apprentices were ready before standing up against his heavily scarred leg trembled slightly as he stood before it stopped. Green eyes looked across the apprentices before he flicked his long bushy tail signaling them getting ready to move again the hornet lead the way to the next boarder, Shadowclan. Not even when the hornet was three fox lengths away he could smell the stench of rot, rising curled his nose as his eyes flickering back at the apprentices " I know it smells bad, but make sure you get the scent memorized " he meowed give or take he wanted to get out of their fast
