Bouncepaw copies Bluestrike, shuffling around, but he's not sure what they're looking for. Rocky, sandy ground? Firm or soft ground? He glances over at Bluestrike uncertainly.

Bluestrike located a soft patch of dirt, his claws scoring into it. He scrapes a small chunk of mud off the top, then shakes out his paws. This should be good. He meowed. Show me what you already know. He told Bouncepaw.

Bouncepaw nods and starts digging. If it was a rocky and hard piece of land with lots of plant roots, he'll have difficulty, but this patch of dirt is soft enough to give way under Bouncepaw's paws and there is only grasses and leaves and no large tree roots. Bouncepaw starts digging. What he lacks in skill he makes up for in strength and speed. Bits of dirt, leaves, rocks and other debris are sent flying, and in only a few minutes there is a decent sized hole in front of the two cats.

Bouncepaw looks at his mentor, asking if he should continue.

Bluestrike nodded. Unsheathe your claws. He advised, looking down at the hole. So that you can catch more dirt at a time. He flicked his tail, studying Bouncepaw's form. You can also move your body to the side a bit. He laughed as he watched his apprentice's pelt shimmer with dirt.

Bouncepaw sees Bluestrike laugh. He moves closer to his mentor, then shakes the dirt off his pelt, holding back a snort. The dirt falls off his pelt and carries over to Bluestrike. Bouncepaw moves his body to hop to the side, taking in Bluestrike's advice, before continuing.

This time he unsheathes his claws. This makes it easier to dislodge bits of rocks and tree roots. No longer did he have to loosen them and dig out the dirt with his paws, he could just rip them apart.

Bluestrike let out a growl when Bouncepaw sprayed him with dirt. Heeey! He yowled, grinning. Good job though. He said seriously. And you can stop digging now! He nodded in approval and yawned. Bluestrike picked up the small sparrow in his jaws, allowing Bouncepaw to carry the plump crow, his first catch.

With Bluestrike's praise, Bouncepaw is prouder than ever. His eyes shining, he picks up the large, plump crow in his jaws. Again, he thanks Starclan for his catches. Bouncepaw stands up and follows Bluestrike.

(Unsure how to add the prey to the prey pile. I'll add it as a patrol for now)

After the awesome hunt he had a few days ago, Bouncepaw was ready to try again, And try something else. Rabbits. The corners of his mouth curled up and his whiskers twitched as he imagined putting plump rabbits on the prey pile, and taking one to his mother to share.

"Bluestrike! I'm ready." Bouncepaw meows, wondering how he should bring up the topic. He coughs, "I... I'm hoping if we could learn how to catch rabbits today?"

Bluestrike thought for a moment, recalling what he was supposed to work on with Bouncepaw. He thought for a second more, then meowed, No, you need more battle training. He shook his head. After that, maybe we could hunt some rabbits. Bluestrike added, flexing his claws.
