The apprentice nodded, not going to push at taking anything from his own nest. The offer would be open either way as he’d be gone from this den soon. When the younger cat asked about the feather, he flicked it closer to himself, curling his tail around it and held it in the air as to demonstrate it. “No- no specific story behind it…it just reminds me of a…special cat.” hell why was he addressing her as special? She was just a normal fellow apprentice…why did everything feel different with her?…

"Ooohh special someone!" Palepaw said with bright eyes that had a hint of a playful sparkle in it. He gives Spiderpaw a little nudge as a friendly gesture before dropping the subject as it seemed to be a topic that Palepaw shouldn't be interrupting in. Especially when they've just met.
"You seem like an experience apprentice already! I bet you'll be a warrior soon!" Palepaw mentioned, bringing up another topic. One of becoming a warrior, which was a topic Palepaw was always excited to hear about. "I heard there was a final test or something. No way, right? What would they test us on? Like how? How much we hunt...or ...um....Sometimes I feel like the older cats are scaring us more than they have to. Unless...there's really a test?"

He nodded, playing with the feather for a few more moments before carefully setting it down. Then, oomph. He felt as he got the impact and he looked over to the younger cat. “Yeah—yeah I am. 13 Moons. I’ve done all my training and stuff though…just awaiting a meeting.” He then listened…ah, this youngin was speaking about the final assessment huh? “That’s our final assessment…it’s mostly stealth and fighting. I’ve done mine. It’s either against an enforcer or the leader. TuftedTusk did mine.” he explained proudly.

Oh! Spiderpaw was going to be a warrior by the next clan meeting. That's so soon. Palepaw's blue gaze painted a sparkly image of Spiderpaw becoming a warrior and the whole ceremony alike. And Palepaw would definitely be there. He'll cheer this apprentice on! "Woahhh! That's so soon, congrats! What would you like your warrior name to be?"
He couldn't think of any on the top of his head, but he's sure Dawnstar would give Spiderpaw an awesome name regardless. She always did. Palepaw wasn't sure how Dawnstar could come up with all those names, but wherever she was getting them from; it was working. 'Maybe she had a hidden list or something. Maybe...StarClan tells her!' No, that was too far-fetched.
"Oh...the final assessment is real! Was it hard?" Palepaw asked curiously, "Against an enforcer? Did you have to beat Tuftedtusk?"
"Yes," she purred, gaze warm. Lostspark couldn't help but play along. "You can sneak me in here and nobody will notice at all." She chuckled, a smile tilting her maw upward as she made herself comfortable beside him, twisting to lay her forehead against the ground too, so they were both facing up. Her front limbs reached out to latch around him, to pull him closer to her chest.
"Or you can always sleep in my nest with me. It's... usually empty." Nobody for her to sleep with anymore. Her old nest was probably stale by now. Returning back to reality, the lithe grey Enforcer sighed softly. "You tell him, love." Mr. Pats? She didn't quite know - or maybe her roleplayer was just missing the memory as usual of Lostspark IC knowing Hawkbite's alternate moniker - who that was, but that was alright. "You know, Bleedingpaw? You don't need to be big or strong. You'll be perfect however you turn out, alright? I couldn't be a prouder mother. I love you, I'm so proud of you."

You know now that she brought the topic up Bleedingpaw really liked the idea of being able to share a nest with his Mama again. He'd missed her so much but had forced himself to stay away, knowing the distance wasnt disinterest despite how much his insecurities insisted it was but because she was busy. His mother was amazing, an enforcer, Dawnstars daughter, an ex medicine cat still respected for her skills and it made her in demand and constantly called for. Bleedingpaw, handled by other cats now, fell to the wayside in the wake of that.
But at night? Well maybe it was selfish but his Mama could be all his again, tucked together in sleep as they did when he was the youngest and last kitten not flying the coup.
Let it not be said Bleedingpaw didnt sometimes revel in his status as the baby.
Letting out a happy chirp and looking up at the molly with big blue eyes shining with absolute excitement the spotted tom declared a determined. "Yeah I can join you! Im getting sneaky too and if someone tries to get me in trouble you can just tell them to be quiet! Ill sleep in your nest now, leafbare is soon and it'll be warmer that way."
And so it would be in the few days Lostspark had left she did not spend them alone at night, instead with a determined little clinger wiggling his way into the warriors den and downright dragging her into a large shared nest, silently daring anyone to comment. In later days after his world broke he'd wish someone did, so he and his mother could be grounded or anything couldve been done to stop her going out that faithful day.
But no one did, and even years in the future Bleedingpaw would swear that the winter he'd planned to ward of the cold with his mother at night was the coldest he'd ever felt.
For now, innocent and unaware of the looming sword of damocles over this gentle joy the tom just lightly stretched, still tangled in his mothers fur but slowly waking for their shared day, purring as he declared. "I love you too Mama! Youre the best Mama ever and being given to you was the best thing that ever happened to me. Im the luckiest kitten ever to have you."
(Yeah we can call this rp done but if you think Im done making you hurt for this youve got another thing coming~)

The Vessel could hear sounds outside. Apprentices trickled out of the den at their leader's call, but not her. Birdpaw remained curled up tightly in her nest, facing the wall away from the den entrance. She stared, unseeing, at the hollowed inside of the stump the apprentices slept in. Her ears rang with the intensity of the silence in the den, twisting and shifting into cruel voices that sounded so familiar. A voice she would never hear again. Never use again.
Mama's voice.
No tears slipped from dull amber eyes. She had no more left. The Vessel remained, motionless, the will to move, to curl even tighter around herself, completely gone.
