She giggles as Cardinal ducks under "Grumpy Paws" (that's her new nickname for her), shaking her head.
"No silly, I am here ta make peace. Plus I'm borwed..." She states, grinning at Cardinal.
When Grumpy Paws speaks to her she cocks her head to the side, a confused expression inhabiting her face.
"Wat's a... wat's a 'mom'?" She asks, her little voice puncuating her question with uncertainty.
However she quickly snaps out of it, it's not like she knows that a mom is supposed to be important anyway, she doesn't even know what it is. So she peers through Cricket's legs at Cardinal, her tail flicking playfully.
"Hey you, do ya wanna play tag? I've only eva played with mysewlf before, by duh way, what's your name? Do you remember mine?" She asks, obviously excited at the prospect of a playmate.
* He shook his head and stayed where he was. He didn't like strangers. Especially ones with a ton of energy. He looked up at Cricket and his lip was quivering in fear of the new kit. *

Oh great, another one. She really was cursed. Cricket looked at Notch through narrowed eyes. "Where the hell have you been? Did you lead this new kit here?" Notch blinked at Cricket and shook his head. "I was hunting." He meowed, pointing at the dead snake he brought back as prey with his paw.
Cricket grumbled and watched the kits, unsure of what to do, she glanced at Notch. Feeling helpless. Notch sighed, then put on a more cheerful smile. "You kits hungry?" He asked, nosing the snake's body towards the kits. The meat on this is soft."

Freckle's ears droop slightly as Cardinal refuses her proposal, but as another big cat speaks(who seems much less grumpy than Grumpy Paws), they perk up again. He has a funny-loooking dead thing, but it smells good and he says it's food, so she'll eat it! She runs over to Notch, her tail waving excitedly and her fur fluffed up.
"Me, me! I do!" She grins, but looks back at the other kit, she's not giving up on befriending him, "Hey you, do ya wanna come eat? You neva did tewl me your name!"
She smiles hopefully at Cardinal, cocking her head to the side.
* He stayed under Cricket. He hated all of the energy of the new kit. He looked up at Cricket and then back at the other kit. He shook his head. He didn't even speak up. *

Cricket felt a pang of sympathy for Cardinal, she probably wouldn't want to spend a lot of time with that kit either if it were her. But that was beside the point. She stepped back so Cardinal was in front of her and lowered her head, giving the kit a little bump with her muzzle to nudge him forward. "Go on." She meowed sternly, lifting her head again. "You need to eat and keep up your strength. Notch brought this prey mostly for your sake." She murmured, not wanting the other kit to overhear. She didn't want the newcomer to know too much, especially not about Cardinal's injury. Though the cobwebs might give that away.
She looked at Notch, waiting for the kits to be out of earshot. "Now what?" She asked him, angling one ear to point towards the kits. "We're not a nursery. We couldn't possibly travel like this with both of them."
Notch sat down, flicking his thick fluffy silver tail thoughtfully. "We may not have to." He murmured thoughtfully, knowing full well Cricket would not be a fan of what he was about to propose.

Freckle smiles hopefully as Cardinal is nudged over, trying to suppress her energy so she doesn't scare him away. Maybe she should speak slower. And less, less is good too.
"Hi dere, you can have duh first bite," She says carefully, adopting a more calm and less bubbly tone.
With a gentle blink, she forces herself to stay still, resisting the urge to fidget or bounce around. Instead she focuses on her tail. Not for the typical reason however (usually she only focuses on her tail to chase it), instead she attempts at smoothing the ruffled fur. Yeah, nevermind... she gives up. It's too messy to groom all by herself. So she just sits there, trying her best not to scare her potential new best friend away, doing everything in her power to stay calm. It takes a lot of self-control, which is also not in her nature... this probably won't last very long.
She glances back at the bigger cats curiously as she hears them mention her and Cardinal. What's a nursery? What do they mean by moving with the both of them? Is she gonna stay with them??
The little kit's head might as well explode with all of her questions, but she has told herself that she would stay still. She can't overwhelm Cardinal, kinda like you can't make any sudden moves when hunting a mouse, they always get away when you do that; she knows from her experience. She was left a moon ago after all, after that bossy lady left her all alone.
* He slowly moved forward and took a couple of bites of the snake. He spat it out quickly and started to whine. Some sort of greenish yellow liquid was oozing out of where he took a bite. He spat everything out and tried to throw up what he swallowed. *

[OOC: Ugh, totally thought I responded guys sorry!]
"What the-" Cricket's attention was pulled away when Cardinal started to retch what he had eaten. She bounded to his side, pushing her paws against his ribcage to help him vomit. "I can't take my eyes off you for a second..." Notch raced over too, grumbling under his breath. "I'm sorry Cricket, I just thought-" But he was interrupted by a swift hiss.
"Just take off the head so it doesn't happen again!" She hissed. Notch simply nodded and approached the snake, flicking his tail against Freckle's shoulder. "Step back a tick, kid." He meowed, using his claws to remove the snake's head where the venom was leaking from, and any flesh that was contaminated, then burying it where the kits wouldn't accidentally get hurt.
Notch then bounded out of the tunnel, scraping moss from a tree nearby and dipping it in a puddle farther away from the Thunderpath. Hopefully this water's okay...or Cricket'll have my hide. He sniffed the water to be sure, and didn't smell anything funny about it. Seemed like regular rain water puddled at the base of a tree. Satisfied, he returned with the soaked moss and set it down in front of Cardinal. Cricket was stroking the kit's back with her tail, and used her paws to bring the moss closer. "Here," she mewed after sniffing the moss to check the water, "drink from this."
* He managed to throw everything up and started to drink the soaked moss. He coughed as the taste of vomit was still in his mouth. He looked up at Cricket and pressed his head against her. *
" E-ewerything twying to kwill me momma... "

Freckle rushes over to Cardinal in worry and concern, sniffing the food before drawing back in distaste, what is that stuff? She attempts to help Cardinal, she doesn't really know what to do, but she can at least pat his back? Well, before she can do anything, Notch tells her to back up. So with a squeak of indignation, she follows his direction, backing away. She doesn't want to stay put, she wants to help. Which leads her to feel frustrated, she can do stuff! Freckle huffs, looking around for something, anything, that she can do, her eyes landing on a shrew about three fox-lengths away. Her eyes light up as she sees it, her tail shooting into the air as she gets an idea of what she can do. Her future best friend threw up all his food, it was yucky food, but she can get him yummy food! She'll get him so much food... enough food for the big cats too! So with that thought she races over to where she saw the shrew scutter into the bushes, a wide grin spread across her muzzle.
Over the course of about fifteen minutes, she has managed to catch a mouse and an ulucky sparrow that happened to have its leg caught on a twig (the shrew got away). But there's just one problem, she forgot to account for the possibility of getting lost...
