Heroneye hissed at the mutt under her breath. It was tougher than she'd thought; not that dogs were ever creatures to be trifled with in her mind, but she was hoping this would go by a bit faster and cleaner. No matter. There was simply no way the patrol was backing down now--not when they were so close to finally achieving their goal of securing a spot for RiverClan's new home.

The Lionheart tensed as she saw the dog leap towards Lilyglide, jaw wide and displaying its fearsome teeth. Regardless of how the other warrior responded, Heroneye would drop to a crouch before leaping once again at the dog, claws extended in an attempt to scratch at its legs to hopefully have it lose its balance.

The dog had avoided the attacks, and now it was going for Lilyglide.
Not good.

Adjusting herself to attack in a way that wouldn't further damage her leg, Caveclaw growled.

The lykoi mx jumps to claw at the dog's side even more than the damage that had been done previously.
She would latch on too, if she could.

After Goldfish had successfully battered her group dog’s ears, the Lionheart had leapt backward with a skid, a sense of self preservation twinging in the back of her skull. In hindsight she wished she hadn’t backed away like that- if felt cowardly, even though she was simply scouting for her next target- and as the dog’s attacks continued she found herself flinging her scarred tortoiseshell frame toward the beastly canine, jaws outstretched as she aimed a hefty, risky ricochet upon its flank.

The blow toward Wormbite’s head was one that The Ace of Spades would gladly block if allowed, gladly bowel him out of the way. But alas it didn’t feel like it would be needed because of her perception of the speckled tomcat. If her ricochet was a success, Goldfish would skid away, blood on her claws, a growl scorching her throat. Assuming her previous success in properly jolting away from the canine, the lionheart would fling herself once more at the dog, aiming for the throat, claws outstretched instinctually.

[ATTACK SUMMARY:
Goldfish had lunged for the dog, and attempted to use her hind paws to dig into the dogs shoulder to catch it off balance and remove fur. If she was successful, she would then skid back and lunge at the dog again aiming for her throat, focusing on that one between shoulder-throat area.]

Irisfrost

Frustration flickered in Irisfrost's chest when the dog moved out of the way, but she smothered it. They'd bring it down eventually. But it seemed like now was not the time; only Duskleaf's attack had been successful. And the dog was now focusing its efforts on him, trying to pin him down and kill him.

Duskleaf may not be her favourite cat at the moment, but by no means was she going to let this mutt kill him.

Not waiting to see if Duskleaf dodged, she leapt at it, aiming to sink her teeth into one of its ears. It wasn't a high-damage move, but hopefully the pain would give him enough time to dart out of its way or distract it so he could escape from his grasp. And either way, someone could aim for its throat or spine while its attention was diverted; even going for a leg would give it a disadvantage. In the corner of her eye she saw Silentstrike, who seemed to share her thoughts, trying to bite down on its neck. She prayed that it worked so they could end this fight before someone got hurt. Then they could help the other groups, make sure no-one got seriously injured or killed. They all seemed to be handling their battles well, but that could easily change. Extra trained paws never hurt.

Irisdream felt satisfaction when she felt her claws connect with the dog, striving to dig them in as much as possible. Though they didn't do as much damage as Dusklion, but she felt empowered to have been able to deal the blow like she planned at all. Now the dog reared up. Maybe it's trying to finish us quickly? Quickly, she ducked under the dog, coming up behind it. Irisdream turned sharply, lifting off her hindlegs towards the closest hindleg of the dog. The pale she-cat's aim was to sink her fangs into the dog's leg and grip with her unsheathed claws. She wanted this to be the final attack so the dog left and her clan could re-claim their lives after being uprooted for so long.

Back at the Twolegplace Dens

Kitepaw lifted her head when she noticed her father helping Berrypaw, then watched as his dark form slipped into the nursery. "Papa!" She called, bounding after him. Kitepaw was desperate for something to do, she couldn't shake this sinking feeling... Something happened to mother, I just know it! But maybe she was wrong? She couldn't stand just waiting any longer. She slowed as she reached her father, waiting outside the nursery. "I-Is there...anything I can help with?" She asked timidly, hopeful that he would have something for her to do so that she could take her mind off things.

the moment claws ripped through flesh and caused the beast to bleed, wormbite was satisfied enough to unlatch — 'course, what he wasn't prepared for was the damn dog to slam its paw into his head and knock him to the floor. it happened so swiftly he had a hard time processing what had occurred but stars, it was as if he could feel his own head rattle inside his skull. a wave of dizziness washed over him, a pounding sensation beginning to form. it reminds him of something familiar, it brings him back to the Pit.

 

CLAWS DIG INTO HIM, his stomach is churning, the maniacal laughter seems to bounce against the walls. SOMETHING COLD, AND ROUND IS PRESSED AGAINST HIS LIPS. IT SMELLS OF HERBAL. HE JERKS AWAY, THERE IS NO ESCAPE.

and then wormbite is back in the present. he feels as if he may be sick, but the sound of barking rings through his ears. the adrenaline runs through his body, and before he can really think he's already pulling himself up into a standing position. another wave of dizziness rolls through him and he takes a moment to stabilize.

by the sounds & vibrations, the oriental had the general guess pristinerose and goldfish were attacking the front. taking advantage of the dog's focus likely being on them, wormbite would attempt to roll underneath the dog and slash upwards at the soft, thin part of its belly. then, he would try to shove the dog's hindlegs away. finally, he would try to roll out from underneath before the dog counterattacked whether or not his attempts failed.

Spiraltail's legs burned from his earlier strikes, but he didn’t let the exhaustion slow him down. The dog was still on its feet, and despite their efforts, it wasn’t backing off. Spiraltail circled cautiously, his eyes locked on the beast, knowing that a single misstep could cost him. He sprang towards the dog’s stomach racing underneath and trying to do as much damage as possible

The dog’s movements were growing more desperate, its attention divided between him, Irisdream, and Dusklion. But in a sudden burst of energy, the dog reared up on its hind legs, its shadow casting over Spiraltail. His heart leapt into his throat as the beast’s massive paws arced downward, aiming to crush both him and Irisdream.

Spiraltail pushed off the ground with all the strength he could muster, his instincts screaming at him to move. The dog's paws crashed down toward him, but the world seemed to blur in that moment. Spiraltail couldn’t be sure if he had leapt far enough, or if the blow had found its mark.

Everything hung in the air for a heartbeat—uncertain, tense. Spiraltail’s mind raced, wondering if he had escaped or if the pain was only seconds away.

Dusklion - RiverClan Deputy

As the dog reared up, the deputy dug her claws into the thick pelt as much as she could to hold on, tail lashing wildly behind her for balance. She spotted Irisdream fleeing towards the backside of the dog to go for its hind legs, while Spiraltail attempted to flee out from underneath its paws before it came back down. For Dusklion, she was simply fed up with this dog, ears pressed firmly against her head.

With a guttural snarl the deputy lunged forward with her fangs, aiming to sink them into the side of the dog's neck and tear away as much as she could in the hopes that she would be able to leave a deep enough wound to finish the fight combined with the attacks to its legs.
