Chasmkit nodded in unison with Nightkit and Pumpkinkit. She was excited to play with the three kits. Maybe, they could be her friends. Chasmkit asked the room, "Where are we going to play mossball?"

Loon...kit? Her muddled mind couldn't quite grasp what exactly was strange about that, but she was far too exhausted to argue. She tried to say Okay, but it came out all muffled. She didn't concentrate too hard on it. She was very warm and cozy, so she focused on that instead, drifting easily back out of the real world.

Weepingwillow gave the tom a thankful glance. "Nightwhisper's been such a help." Weepingwillow added, not really realizing she did out loud as she sighed softly. Was she not working hard enough? Dealing with one kit was work, but her mate running back and forth for patrols as well as made up patrols to collect herbs for there two daughters. "I miss them so much." Weepingwillow whispered, blinking softly to try and make her tears go away. Weepingwillow sighed gently, looking down for a moment, "I..... I feel as if I've already lost them.. I can't cuddle them to sleep, I can't lick there fur clean..... there already weened so I can't feed them...... I can't... I want to be close to them...." Weepingwillow murmured

Pinepaw was just going to have a bit of relax time in the nursery! The kits could climb on him, he could play mossball with them, it would be a great time! The tom had heard of Wolfsnarl's kit, Brokenkit, and decided he wanted to see if that kit could play with him. "Brokenkit! Over here!"

Cardinalsong gave her a sad look. He couldn't imagine not being able to cuddle up with Kitekit and Robinkit. He tried not to consider the threat that this might be Gorskeit soon...
"How's Emberkit doing with all this?" he asked. He wasn't really trying to change the subject, but maybe Weepingwillow would feel better to think about her healthy son. He hoped it would remind her she still had one healthy kit too. "Has he been able to visit them? Maybe you could both go to the medicine den at some point just to check up on them."
He tried to think of something more to say. He needn't have bithered though, as right at that moment Robinkit came trotting back into the nursery, followed by the aforementioned Emberkit. "Daaaaddyyyyy!" Robinkit bubbled. It came out very muffled, though, because she had what looked like two colorful feathers in her jaws.
Taken slightly aback, Cardinalsong blinked bemusedly down at her. "What've you got there?"
She placed the feathers at her feet, being uncharacteristically gentle. "Emberkit's dad gave us feathers!" she exclaimed, "This one's a... blue... something..." she indicated the bluejay feather, "but this one—" she pointed to her red one— "guess what this one is?" She did not wait to hear his guess. "It's a CARDINAL! Just like you, Daddy!"
Cardinalsong looked the red feather over, amused. "So it is," he replied.
"Isn't that just so so COOL?!" she looked around for Kitekit. "Kiiitekiiiit!" she called. "Kitey Kite Kite Kiiiite!"
As Kitekit's interest was piqued from her own little treasures and she made her unbothered way iver, Cardinalsong couldn't help but let out a disbelieving laugh; he was just so, so grateful for his and Petrelstorm's kits. He really just did not know what he would do without this little family.
