Okay, uhhhh. Hunting crouch! And pounce! Psh, yeah, no problem. Owlpaw.. definitely knew exactly how to do that. And was super good at it, too. She had to show her BEST, so she would, of course, look professional! She had done this lots of times! Totally, definitely, The Huntress wasn't lying! The ginger molly stood rigidly and straight, raising one paw to her chest in a salutatorian fashion. "Mhm! Got it!" She chirped, and promptly laid down. Flat, on the ground. But she had a specific method being put into play, and from there the apprentice rose to her paws ever so slightly, tail sticking out like a twig. Her tactic didn't.. fail horribly, so she must be doing it right. Right? Right! Triple rights! From this form of.. sorta crouching like she was about to roll over and snooze, Owlpaw tried her best to level her head with her shoulders, and found she had to slightly raise herself higher above the ground. Eh, good enough. However it made The Huntress feel super out of shape because her muscles seemed to throb in an exercise way.

Stalking forward, wobbly at first, then she adjusted (But now she was slightly waddling, leaning to one side then the other too much but oh well) to a different.. weird.. but productive way, as previously explained. An intensely focused expression was worn, totally immersed in the task. The Huntress shifted her mottled form once more, slightly less waddle-y, before remembering she had to pounce. Oh yeeeahhh! She nearly laughed, but held it in. Aubs leaned heftily backwards on her hind limbs and with a jolting leap went sailing in the air gleefully, before landing with a bump with a faintly bewildered expression, as somehow her backpacks were now splayed out sideways and her tail was on the ground. But Owlpaw quickly corrected herself to a standing position and bounced back to Jumper. Yippeeeeee! She must've looked so cool jumping! But not landing! But that's fine! "Did'I do 't? Did I do 't!" She cheered excitedly, prancing around Leechscar looking much too pleased for her own good.

Sooooo she did not practice her crouching and pouncing often as a kitten. Leechscar tried hard to recall what little information he had obtained about the kits, but he was blanking. Did she not have littermates to play with? Or bugs or things to chase and play hunt? She acted like she's never crouched, stalked, or pounced in her lifetime. Leechscar watched the entire process and then proceeded to smack himself in the face with a forepaw and drag it down his face with a loud sigh. StarClan did he have his work cut out for him?!

"Yeah, you did something alright." Leechscar snorted sarcastically and then stood up. "I could go through everything wrong, but I don't trust myself to keep your attention that long." Even though she's proven to listen when he spoke, he still worried her thoughts would drift and he'd be wasting his breath.

"Try copying me." He told Owlbait. "Bend all four legs downward until your stomach barely touches the ground and keep your tail low." He ordered, dropping himself into a low crouch while keeping his tail low and still.

"That is how we crouch. When we stalk take all your weight on your haunches so that your paws make no impact on the ground and gradually creep forward, step lightly." Leechscar gradually moved forward on soundless paws.

"Your crouch needs to be balanced if it feels off or like you're tipping to one side over the other, try spreading your forepaws shoulder-width apart or stable balance." The fury showed her as he explained.

"When you leap you need to brace yourself for the landing, or you flop like earlier. It's like when you jump in the air you don't just tumble to the ground when you come back down." He's seen her bounce almost all day, he knew she could do it. The tom pushed off the ground, sailed in the air, and came back down, twisting to face the apprentice.

"Balance is key here, if your crouch is off everything will be thrown off. Show me once more and then I'll let you go hunt a rabbit." Leechscar wasn't expecting Owlbait to get everything perfect her first time. Even if she got something wrong here he'd still send her out to try and hunt a rabbit. Experience was a great teacher.
