Gutspaw had a few options when it came to getting a final assessment. Perhaps, it could pester Mistlewhisker but the deputy had better things to do. Rookfire was another option but teeth had already asked something of him twice too many. Yellowtwist was an absolute no. The other enforcers were older. Too unfamiliar. Which left it to Sleepysunrise. To be frank, teeth would prefer not to have its assessment done by her if anything to save its dignity. Kit prodigies were .. unnerving. How she had managed to become an Enforcer at nine moons was beyond Gutspaw. Sure, it had been gone for a while which contributed to its ,, older-than-typical age (shudders) but even when it had returned it had taken a while to catch up.

Whatever. Whatever!!! She had seemed tolerable enough. If Gutspaw had to be a bit embarassed to finally get its darn warrior name then so be it.

The apprentice trotted towards Sleepysunrise. "Yo! You busy or anythin'? Was wondering if you could do my assessment. Abyss knows I'm far overdue for one, " It inquired.

An assessment. Another one. This one was older than the previous one - head tilting as she observed Gutspaw with unsettling eyes - and seemingly... Hm. Its way of speaking reminded her of Quillpaw. Only that Quillpaw corrected his behaviour, saying please. Please is a good word, and important... Sleepysunrise always tried to remember to say please. Otherwise she would drift away from good manners, and she couldn't have that. But Gutspaw wasn't her sibling. She couldn't chide teeth over its way of speaking or addressing. And, maybe, 'yo' was a normal term. Was it?
''Yo....''
...No. That didn't feel right. It felt... Unprofessional. Like something Miss Grandmama and Mama wouldn't like, and like something she shouldn't be saying. Sleepysunrise mentally shook the word out of her head, instead focusing on the matter at hand; Gutspaw may not be her sibling, but she could still give bite its assessment. With a light nod, still feeling mildly dazed over the use of that peculiar word, she signalled for the apprentice to follow her out into the territory.

Once a ways into the foresty grounds, the youngest enforcer came to a halt, eyes drifting to look up at the apprentice. She blinked slowly once, seemingly for the first time since this silent conversation began, before giving her instructions.
''Hunt.''
Well, instruction. But she deemed it clear enough.

Was this what everyone meant by telling Gutspaw it had unsettling eyes? It tended to play into the unblinking stare act because getting reactions out of cats was just blatantly funny. Also, partially it had the tendency to zone out without meaning to but this cat seemed to be a natural! Seriously. Like, the apprentice was fighting itself to not blow cold air into Sleepysunrise's vibrant blue ass eyes to get her to blink.

The apprentice hold back a snort at the sound of the enforcer parroting back a 'Yo.' Didn't seem right coming out of her mouth, but still it repeated back, "Yoyo." Too tempting. Reasons unknown why. She stayed silent for a few and Gutspaw was about to throw in the moss 'n go ask another but she finally nodded.

"Oh, coolcool, " it barked, following after the younger. Once they arrived, Sleepysunrise finally -- finally!!!! blinked. "Kay, be back soon then, " Gutspaw replied before picking a random direction and heading off.

At least its assessment wasn't in leaf-bare. Would've been fox-dung to try and catch prey when it was so fickle.

The feline's first catch was a shrew. It tracked the creature down to a burrow underneath a tree with deep, thick roots. It chewed peacefully on grass, unaware of the stalking creature. It waited, and waited for the perfect moment. One false move and it would scurry into safety. Then it clicked, and Gutspaw launched itself forward. The shrew gave a dying squeak. While it had the small suspicion Sleepysunrise was watching — similar to what Mistlewhisker had done — it still thanked the creature for its life before swiftly burying it.

The second was a mouse. It had actually been making its way towards a pond to get revenge on a frog. (Look. It was the only damn thing Gutspaw really struggled with catching. They were slimy, squishy and could swim & hop away awfully fast. Plus, it was the first thing it had ever failed to catch. Seemed like it had to test itself considering that was the spirit of this whole thing.) Its scent had been fresh, and Gutspaw changed directions before finding it in a small patch of not-so fresh flowers & tall grass.

It crept silently, the creature seemingly focused on the absolute feast. There was indeed another mouse that teeth had failed to noticed. Its ears perked up, turning to face Gutspaw. Their eyes met. Its friend was still blissfully unaware.

Teeth leapt forward, landing on the mouse. The other ran swiftly away, disappearing into the undergrowth. Sucks to suck. Again, it wished the mouse to its eternal rest before buried it.

Finally, Gutspaw set back out for the Frog. It was going DOWN!!! Soon, it stumbled upon a pond and what'd you know it. The most plumpest frog sat near the bank. It was huuge, with the thickest legs ever! Ohh bones, it would love to gnaw on those. It made the weirdest, low croak. It dropped into a hunter's crouch, slowly walking through the reeds. Without another notice, the frog jumped onto a floating log — tongue darting out to catch a fly. Déjà vu flashed through its head, but this time. This time Gutspaw knew how to swim.

Water sucked, but this would be worth it.

It took a silent, sharp breath before darting out of the reeds and leaping onto the log. It plunged into the cold, murky water but its claws dug into bumpy flesh. It couldn't see, but used its hindlegs to propel itself upwards.

Gutspaw broke through the surface of the water, dragging the frog to the bank. Ergh. The water dragged down its black fur and it struggled to see. It crawled onto the ground, lifting a paw to push the fur out of its eyes. "Winn, " it grinned, swiftly ending the struggling frog's life. It touched its nose to its chest, "May the abyss welcome you with open paws and offer you the solace of eternal rest, " it wished softly.

Finally, the apprentice would gather up all of its caught prey and start to head back to where it assumed Sleepysunrise had to be nearby. Unless she was going to come out of the shadows. Something like that. Then, it dropped its prey. "YOO!! Is this enough for ya?" Gutspaw called.

Gutspaw was a peculiar apprentice, in speech and acting, but Sleepysunrise could hardly be one to judge. Many a cat may consider the same of her, and she was here to proceed with this apprentice's assessment - not analyse their entire being from their way of speech to how they acted and learned on the daily; to what took them so long to get here.

Oh.

Gutspaw was gone. Had her thoughts been shared out loud, did she offend Gutspaw? ..No, not possible. She had control of her words as much as she held control of her mind; Gutspaw had merely set out of bites hunt, and Sleepysunrise was reminded that she was supposed to follow bite. Laying low, vibrant eyes began tracking the older apprentice.

It was interesting to observe another hunt. She was always focused on perfecting her own stance, she hadn't yet taken the time to truly analyse how another moves through the brush - how another weaved about until their prey lay dead between their paws. A peculiarity about Gutspaw, for instance, was its insistence on uttering a prayer for the fallen. She had never seen as much done before, and it interested her quite. Was that... Supposed to excuse the act of taking a life?

The youngest enforcer thought back to the day where three lives fell at her paws. Would they not be haunting her mind if she uttered a prayer for them?

...Regardless. Gutspaw's hunt was satisfactory overall, and Sleepysunrise gave the apprentice subtle nod. It was loud. She blinked once, then signaled Gutspaw to follow - she would help carry prey if needed - to quickly drop off teeths catching at camp before leading bite back out into the territory where Sleepysunrise halted. She paused, pondering her options. Head tilted in thought.
"...Fight."
The words left her maw in a quiet utter, turning on herself and currently sheathed paws simultaneously reaching out with a calculated swipe to hit right behind Gutspaw's ear -- unsheathe and dig her claws in if she must, but she wanted to see how Gutspaw would react first.

Gutspaw would drop off the prey it had caught in the fresh-kill pile before following Sleepysunrise back out. It stopped the moment she did, blinking slowly. Were they to have the battle part of the assessment here? Or,, stealth? Teeth didn't know how stealth would be tested. Maybe hide and seek. That would be funny. It was the damn best hider in ShadowClan! Gutspaw cocked its head to the side, accidentally mimicking the Enforcer.

The words fight left her maw almost silently before she was suddenly swiping at one of Gutspaw' ears. The apprentice jerked back, but not quite quick enough to go without a small bapping. Immediately, it ducked down and darted to the left side of Sleepysunrise. Thankfully, the warrior was slim and small. It meant they were similar sizes that at the very least teeth didn't need to be concerned about getting crushed. It didn't have to focus on agility as much.

It reeled up on its hindlegs, reaching its forepaws and attempting to slam them down on Sleepysunrise's side and give her a hard shove.
