What was happening to her (not) babies?? First Mantiskit, now Mitekit? Leaning down to fuss over Mitekit - who had not stepped outside the family nest all day - Softdaisy was just in time to see... oh no. Blood.

Which brought her to her current predicament. This was the same thing that had happened to Mantiskit! "...We need to take you to see Wolfpaw and Hollowpaw." Softdaisy murmured, brow furrowed in concern, voice resigned.

Chasmkit felt Pumpkinkit's paw and suddenly came to her senses. She looked at Pumpkinkit and said, "Did I miss something, Pumpkinkit?" Chasmkit shifted her gaze onto Dawnkit and Nightkit. She realized something and politely meowed, "Oh. I'm so sorry that I zoned out!"

Her suspicious gaze flicked between her sister and thus stranger. So her sister was the deputy just like dada, and this stranger leader? Okay…and now her sister made up this extra long name for hornet, but she didn’t mind. It made it sound sicker and higher-up, which was great. If she wouldn’t follow in her fathers paw-steps , she’d at least do it with that of a Hornet

The tiny gray kitten shrunk down even further, his round green eyes now welling up with tears. Why would his father say such things to him? He'd never by a warrior because of his paw? He didn't ask to be born with this weak, twisted paw! If he could be more like his siblings, he'd do so in a second just to impress Wolfsnarl. But he couldn't.


Both his brother and mother seemed to disagree with Wolfsnarl, but all Littlekit could focus on was his father's words. His body seemed to lose its energy, and he fell against his mother's warm fur. At least he felt somewhat safe there. All he could do was sigh when Brokenkit asked to play.
"Maybe later, Brokenkit..."

Snaketooth turned her attention on Wolfsnarl. "Take Brokenkit out side with you and leave Littlekit and I alone for now!" she groweld.

Wolfsnarl looked at his mate and hissed. "You gonna baby him?" he growled.

"OUT!" she yelled. Her eyes started to blaze.

Wolfsnarl growled then looked at Brokenkit. "Come child." he said with a flick of his tail and padded out the nursery.

Once he was out of the nursery Snaketooth turned and looked at Littlekit. "Dont believe what your father says." She meowed. "He is unwell. You'll be a fine warrior, maybe even leader one day." she didn't understand how he could be so cruel. Yes she was cruel and yes so was he but when it came to kits no.

Wherever this cat was taking her, it couldn't be so bad. No worse than the wandering anyway — at least he was being kinda nice about it. (The cold didn't care about being nice, or if you were small and young and had no one to take care of you) It didn't feel very long; she dozed for most of the way.

She was finally roused a bit by the cat's voice in her ears, then being jostled a bit from one point to another. The new cat was gentle kinda fussed over Heart a bit. She felt a whole lot warmer all of a sudden. She slowly processed being asked her name...

She wanted to say Heart... but was that her name? It was what Mama called her, sure, but Mama was gone no one else did. If it was her name surely more people would use it? "Dunno..." she murmured wearily. "Mama called me Heart... but s'not my name..." She wondered what her name was, then. Another thing her mother used to call her floated to the forefront of her mind. Usually it was when she was in a silly mood. "She calls me loon sometimes too..."

This was all very tiring. Her ears and toes burned as they warmed up so quickly, and her eyelids grew too heavy for her to keep fighting. With so many other cats around (who clearly wouldn't be hurting her) she felt far safer than she since—

Since then. She closed her eyes.

Scorchkit lay in her nest and daydreamed. Time passed so slowly in the nursery. She saw a calio-colored she-cat. "Hello, do you want to play," she said to the cat named Butterflykit.

❀ ฺ the fluffy kit's face drooped as he was being dragged away by wolfsnarl. he wanted, so very badly, to speak up and defend littlekit, but based on prior things said he wasn't exactly sure about what his father would do. and that fear, that desperation to impress him, loomed over brokenkit like a fox. the kit cowered, staring down at his paws.

Cardinalsong blinked, surprised. "Of course," he responded gently. He knew how helpful it could be just get something off your chest, and if you had no one to do so with, it could get challenging to the point of overwhelming.

Weepingwillow gave the Tom a small, grateful glance. "My daughters names are Cinderkit and Skykit. Both of them are named after family memebers, Skykit is named after my brother who passed, Longsky, and Cinderkit is named after Night whispers mother, Cinderclaw. And...... there the kits who are sick.... I just." Weepingwillow gave a small inhale, as if holding back tears. "I just feel like there all we have left of them.... and... if we lose them to this sickness......" Weepingwillow murmured, hoping the Tom got where she was going with this.
