Splitpaw looked at Burnedpaw as she spoke. She then looked away and up at the leader when he answered her warrior question. Splitpaw turned back and looked at Burnedpaw. "What do you think your warrior name will be?" she asked with a tilt of her head. The way he was describing on how to earn you warrior name seemed pretty easy enough. All she had to do was pass them and walla. But then again she didn't even know what hers would be, and how Bumblestar would choose. She then looked up at the sky, the stars were out. "Burnedpaw, I have another question." she said continuing to looking up at the sky. "What is Starclan? I heard some of the cats here in camp speak of it." her one blue and one green eye's showed the stars reflection in them.

"My warrior name?" Burnedpaw honestly hasn't given it much thought. He considered the many, many options available. "I think I'd like something...neutral or forest-related." He mused. "Like maybe Burnedfern or Burnedoak. Something like that." He looked back at her. "What about you?" Now he was genuinely curious.
It made sense that Splitpaw would need to ask about StarClan. He followed her gaze to the sky. "StarClan are our warrior ancestors." He explained simply. "No matter which clan, we all believe that when we die, our spirit joins our ancestors in Silverpelt above us. Creating StarClan. They sometimes offer guidance to our leaders and medicine cats." After he explained this, he looked over at Splitpaw and paused for a moment. Briefly taken off guard by the scene of stars glittering in her eyes. It was such a serene and beautiful sight, like her eyes were dusted with starlight. But he made no comment, and eventually turned his gaze away. Feeling slightly flustered though he didn't show it.
Hawkthorn sat next to his mate, Flowernose, and wrapped her tail around her. He looked around for some cat to talk to. Flowernose was getting grumpy and didn't want to be disturbed. No Flowernose treatment for him today, thank you. Hawkthorn shuffled his paws but kept looking around.

Splitpaw turned her gaze away form the stars and on Burnedpaw. "I think those are great names..." she meowed. But when he asked about her, she didn't know. "Mmm." she said turning her eyes away from him and back on the sky. "Splitmoon." She meowed. "I would love to be called that..." she trailed off.
Splitpaw didn't look back at him when he answered her question about Starclan, instead she asked two simple question. "Do you think I'll join Starclan? Do you think they will accept me since I'm not a clan cat?" When Burnedpaw spoke about Starclan, it made her very curious. Where there ancestors lived? she thought. I dont know if i'll be able to join she then turned her gaze away from the sky and back on him

Stars above, this was NOT it. Brindlepaw wanted nothing more than to sleep, but instead he was out here, trying to listen to Bumblestar whilst his head pounded and and his nose ran and he coughed tiny, pathetic coughs in a futile attempt to make his throat stop hurting. Tired and sick and generally poorly as he was, he made no attempt to get his fur clean and groomed, or sit up straight. Instead he slumped down next to Mallowpaw, muttering a rough Whats up? He didn't have the energy to be more forceful or suave than that.

Caught up in the coughs rattling her ribcage and the pounding of her forehead, Mallowpaw didn't notice Brindlepaw's presence until he spoke. Her head turned towards him, and for a moment she was lost for words. She couldn't remember the last time she had interacted with an apprentice from her clan. She had slept in the same den as them every night, but she had never formed a connection with any of them. She hadn't really had friends even when she was young, and when everyone she knew disappeared and she had fallen into a rut, no-one had talked to her, befriended her, helped her out in any way. She had been left to try to climb out of it herself, watching enviously as the other apprentices made friends and chatted and supported each other. And then, as she passed into young warrior age, there were many less similarities between them. What did you talk about when you were seven or eight moons apart?
All that time, she had wished for a friend. Or an acquaintance. Just someone to talk to, to pass the time while she waited to be taken out for training. And now Brindlepaw was here, asking her what was up like it was the most causal thing in the world, and all she could do was stare. Of course someone had come the one time she didn't want to talk to anyone. She didn't want to interact with someone when she could barely concentrate on anything, when all she wanted was to sleep. Why now of all times? Why did she have to get what she had craved for so long at the one time she didn't want it?
But it didn't matter. She had to engage with him, otherwise she might lose her one chance to make an acquaintance. "Not much," she eventually replied, hoping the pause hadn't been too long. The last thing she wanted was to make him think she was rude, like Flashpaw and Cinderpaw surely did. "You?"
As far as Hollowpaw was aware, and, more than that, as far as he cared, there was only one important thing to announce this meeting - that being the weird supposed-prophecy he and Wolfpaw had gotten. Well, Bumblestar seemed pretty convinced it was a prophecy, but Hollowpaw still had his doubts. Regardless, he chose a spot to sit among the crowd and prepared to listen.
Skittering out from the warrior's den (and attempting to slip past Mudhound without getting in the line of fire for ick), the small grey molly sat along the edge of the crowd and awaited Bumblestar's announcements.
Making his way to the gathering of his clanmates, Lioncrest was about to take a seat when he spotted one of his sons looking... Stars above, how had he not noticed them getting that ill?
Abruptly changing course, the large golden tom made his way over to Brindlepaw and Mallowpaw before settling onto his haunches and beginning to groom his son's fur without heed for whatever conversation he was engaged in. He could continue talking to his friend, but clearly there was an intervention needed with his health. No words were spoken by the warrior, but his tail swished over to wrap around Brindlepaw as he commenced his grooming routine and listened to the meeting.
Well, at least Mallowpaw wasn't particularly suave or anything either. Brindlepaw too needed several moments to process what on earth was going on in their weird, probably slightly delirious on both ends conversation. He sort of wanted to just collapse into a heap of self-pity, but that wasn't an option because he'd been an actual IDIOT and gotten himself into a conversation. Ugh, Brindlepaw was really regretting this. But now he had to say something, and all that would come out was a sarcastic Well, considering I'm over here with you sneezing and coughing my throat out, I'd say I'm not doing a whole heck of a lot. And then that was too many words and he started coughing, sort of turning away from Mallowpaw in an effort to preserve some shred of his dignity.
Alas, who he turned to face, who he hadn't even noticed making an appearance, was his father. Lioncrest was sat beside him now, grooming his pelt. Brindlepaw would be lying if he said it didn't feel absolutely spectacular despite his horrible health at the moment that meant he sort of wanted to plummet into a river and drown. Hey dad. he croaked, seeing as there wasn't a lot of conversation going on with Mallowpaw because they were both hella sick. Anyone told you that you're supposed to stay AWAY from the sick cats? It was an attempt at snark but a rather feeble one. Partially due to his lack of energy, yes, but it was also because Brindlepaw had felt himself becoming a bit....softer since the apprentice den's collapse. Having all the other apprentices cuddling up with him had made him feel....happy. Like he wanted more cats to look upon him fondly. And apparently that was by being nice. So....he was trying it. @Jayvines @kittycatburmise
