...... So Crowtooth was back here again, not long after the last time. The tom padded through the dark, stars glittering up in the sky above him, eventually padding into the meadow speckled with stones that marked the graves of the lost.

The one he went up to was new, but he knew it by heart already.

"Heya Bravebird."

Crowtooth flopped, curling up on the cool dirt that buried his sister and placed his head upon the stone marker like he'd once done to her side. It wasnt the same, of course it wasnt the same but now it was the closest he was ever going to get.

"My friend yer never gonna guess what happened. Well, I suppose ya might, I bet yer watchin' me an' all o' us right now from the stars, snarkin' all the while.

But I got deputy. Yipee......"
The tom sighed, staring up at the twinkling lights, ears drooping.


"Im not unhappy so dont get yer tail in a twist about me bein' ungrateful I just.... I dunno how ta feel I guess. Deputy was never my aspiration, it was yers an' yer not here ta take the role or see me in it. 'Suppose the root o' all o' this is me missin' ya still, though I always will....

I just, wish ya were here buddy."
Because while her body was, laying below the dirt just under him, he just didnt know if that was enough to fill the empty ache in his heart.

Power Card: Cold Gust

The deputy had encountered some poor warrior as he head back from the border, the remains of Tallgrass's corpse slung over his back and had taken advantage of the horrified cat to act as a runner. He didnt want to scare the clan by bringing the shredded body of their clanmate back to camp, didnt want them to assume it was heralding another war when riverclan when he feared it was something Other. But Twilightstar, of course, needed to know about this and so needed to know to come to the starry meadow.


So the random warrior was sent to fetch her and while he waited to show her Tallgrass (if felt wrong to call him Tallpaw in death) and explain the tom got to work digging the grave he'd be buried in after. Did Tallgrass have loved ones to summon to inform? Crowtooth wasnt the most in touch with clan relations, stars what a mess.


Hearing the pad of paws approach and scenting the leader the tom say back, pant-wheezing a bit before rasping a "Found 'im on the riverclan border, its Tallgrass if ya cant recognize but I aint gonna blame ya fer that if so given his state. I aint got a clue what killed him or if it was the same thin' that ripped him apart but....." But he was afraid of it, but he didnt think it was a cat but it was no creature he'd recognized, but he swore he saw something.

Clearing his throat the tom continued. "Aint no signs o' riverclan or any cat really but I think I saw somethin' in the river.... Not a cat somethin' neither I.... I dunno what it was or if I saw anythin' at all really sorry.


....I really dunno how ta handle this Twilightstar this was.... strange an' dangerous o' a kind Ive not seen." He hoped the leader would have more of a clue.

Burnetpaw's sassy was ignored. The runt would know if his tail was in a twist. She was here and that's all that mattered. Owlbait appeared not long after and with that, the patrol leader led the group out. The walk to the Starry Meadow was on the longer side, why WindClan had their burial grounds so far from camp he'd never understand.

He'd occasionally glance at the sky or look over his shoulder to make sure Owlbait was not distracted by a butterfly or something. Eventually, they made their way to a steep hill and were greeted by a field of flowers once they reached the top.

He twitched his ear calling Owlbait to his side. "This is WindClan's burial grounds, those who pass are laid to rest here. This is not a place to play in nor should you be hunting here unless given direct orders."He told his apprentice and then looked at Burntpaw.

"Since your ears are so good you heard what herbs were looking for, correct? See if you can find some goldenrod." Leechscar mewed to Burnetpaw.

"Owlbait, we're looking for juniper berries. Hopefully, your nose won't be so touchy around berries." He didn't think anyone in the clan would appreciate the cat getting snot all the plants here. "If you're having trouble with your nose remember to part your maw and breathe through it."

The apprentice gave a silent nod but the set of her jaw made it clear that she hadn't been cowed into submission. Turning tail she lifted her nose to the air, parting her jaws slightly to catch the sweet scent on the breeze that told her herbs were near. It didn't take her long to pick out that honey-sweet scent on the wind, leading her through the useless pretty blooms until she arrived at a patch of what she assumed were goldenrod. Recalling Lightningstorm's extremely helpful definition of what the plants looked like she ripped as many stems as she could carry out of the dirt and trotted back to Leechscar with a bundle full of them in her jaws.

Uncertain where Owlbait had gotten to, Leechscar went ahead and hunted down the berries they were looking for. He watched Burnetpaw walk off to hunt down the goldenrod. It felt like he had searched the entire meadow before he located the juniper berries. They grew on almost pine-like shrubs that he discovered he needed to be careful not to poke his eye while pulling a branch free.

He recalled Lightingstorm's words on not collecting too much and took a branch with only three berries. Leechscar padded back to where the apprentices were waiting for him. "You found them, well done." He grumbled behind his branch of berries. He hadn't the faintest clue how many goldenrod Burnetpaw had grabbed, but it looked like more than enough for Lightingstorm.

"Let's head back to camp." He urged, leading the way back. Leechscar's never been late for a report and the mere idea of it now made his fur itch. He cast one more glance at the graves in the meadow and then began the long journey back.

She gave a terse nod, mouth stuffed too full of goldenrod stems to muster up a witty response, or any response at all really. Instead she followed behind Leechscar as they both returned, the cloying scent of goldenrod in her mouth threatening to make her gag. She cast a quick glance around for Owlbait before following Leechscar back the way they had come, trying to make sure she didn't spill too much of the goldenrod juice contained in the stems.
