with the turn of the seasons, the temperature was slowly crawling back to chillier moods - somewhat bearable, if not without a slight nip in the mornings and shortening sunsets.

which would be nice if he had better insulation!! he was freezing his damn tail off. dramatically.

anyway. someone had managed to kick him in their sleep and startled him out of his own slumber earlier than he'd have liked. well, as long as they didn't mean to, i don't mind, he pardoned. the warrior idly batted at small grasshoppers that mulled about at his paws, enjoying the entertainment. they leapt away, only to bounce back over again, as if they expected different treatment. "hey, silly bugs," he laughed under his breath.

a blur of a multi-colored pelt blipped into the corner of his vision. Sagechaser glanced up at Grousepaw with his small smile unchanging, and waved his tail at the little (big) medicine cat. he certainly was no Ivysnake nor Elmshadow. he didn't get that impression from Mossfreckle either. sort of.

how could he tell? it felt like someone had taken the corners of his brain and shook the net clear of any intelligence it'd collected over the moons. he knew nothing.

what a scary thought to have before noon even came knocking around. he didn't really like thinking, so he meowed his bright greeting at the younger cat. "hey, Grousepaw!" he had to make friends all over again, since NO ONE seemed too keen on saying hi to him. no matter, he's probably part weasel with the way he worms his way into everybody's greatest favors. right? right??!

eh.

the tom trapped his twitching tail underneath his tap-tapping paws and flashed his teeth at Grousepaw. "whatcha up to?" eager, he added, "you should invite me with. y'know. just as a suggestion," was his offer. he widened his winning smile.
