Closed Herb gathering

How would you add herbs and stuff when out on patrols? I see people just put '+3 cobwebs' or '+5 borage' and things similar, but I'm not sure if you have to do anything other than that? And how do you choose how much to add, is it just random?

This thread outlines anything you need to know about adding resources from patrols to Clan Supplies! You don't have to describe your haul any more than the items you brought back and how many, and you can choose what you'd like to have your character find while on patrol, meaning you can randomize it if you'd like to! Just keep in mind that characters without the The Collector purrk can only carry up to 5 things at a time.
