Doeflame's paws hurt. And she wanted to know why. So here she was, inspecting them. A frown tugged across her face as she saw the cause of her pain- blisters. Seriously? Couldn't be a thorn or something, something she could pull out? These would take forever to heal. All her planned future trips were ruined.
Doeflame groaned and laid back. "Why," she grumbled. She knew why- those stupid pinecones on that stupid hard ground. This was why ShadowClan needed more marshes. She didn't get blisters when the majority of their territory was marshes. This was the stupid twolegs' fault. They had destroyed them all.
Firepaw shifted her gaze towards the approaching black-furred apprentice, sighing in relief that, for whatever reason, the arrival of the young she-cat had kept the massive warrior from making her way towards them. Firepaw was about to mew a greeting to respond to Shadepaws own, but the apprentice almost inmediatly pressed her head into Silentpaws fur. Firepaw turned to them, a little confused by the apparent warmth of the apprentice's gesture acompanied by the cats blank expresion. Maybe the two were siblings? They looked nothing alike, but that was the only explanation she could find for the apprentice's behaviour.
When she had approached, Firepaw had noticed a slight heavynes in Shadepaws steps. Whatever happened with the fluffy warrior, she guessed that it wasnt all that pleasant. It was either that or the two siblings shared their introvertedness, or both, provably both. She felt intrigued by the little mystery she had stumbled upon, and felt really thempted to ask the aproaching apprentice what had happened, but guessed it provably wasnt a good idea. Both becouse Shadepaw provably wouldnt want to talk about it and becouse she felt as if merely mentioning the dark fluffy warrior would bring her back from the thicket into which she had vanished into.
Firepaw stayed silent while Shadepaw pressed her head in Silentpaws fur, which didnt last long, the apprentice soon pulled away from her sibling, but it still led to a brief moment of silence. As soon as Shadepaw turned towards her though, Firepaw regained her smile and spoke up "The name's Firepaw, nice to meet you!" Firepaw briefly glanced at Silentpaw, waiting to see if he would return his sister's greeting, but the tortoishell apprentice looked stiff, almost surprised, as if a stranger was the one who had dug their head into his fur. Firepaw gave him a brief smile before turning back to Shadepaw. "Whats your name?" She asked, adjusting her previous almost overly formal posture to a more confortable sit.

His gaze was back on Shadepaw and Clovepool. Well, just Shadepaw now, given that Clovepool was no longer with her. Actually, Shadepaw was now walking towards him. Great. Silentpaw stiffened, instinctively straightening up, matching the flame-coloured apprentice beside him. What could she possibly want?
As Shadepaw approached, he gave her nothing but a quick glance. He hoped Firepaw, outgoing as she was, would keep her distracted.
Clovepool seemed displeased earlier. And Shadepaw looks somewhat tense. What if she was here to complain and complain?
No, that wasn't right. That wasn't like Shadepaw.
He let himself relax as Shadepaw came over, saying only a mere greeting.
However the tension that spread through his body only returned heartbeats later when Shadepaw briefly pressed her face to his fur.
What was this?
Silentpaw thought he felt... Nervous, for the first time in such a long time.
Why was she doing this? What was the point?
Was she pitying him?
He didn't need pity, he needed acceptance from his mother!
He wanted to snap at her, to hiss at her.
But he just couldn't bring himself to do so.
He didn't hear Shadepaw's next question.

Shadepaw tensed, again, as she felt Silentpaw tense next to her. She shouldn't have done that. She shouldn't have done that. She'd never really done it before, but... No. She'd acted on an impulse. That was bad. She should always, always think before acting. It was one of the first lessons Clovepool had taught her. She made a mistake. Silentpaw didn't want her to do that, and anyways... It was a sign of weakness. She flicked her tail slightly in disappointment and displeasure. She had felt overwhelmed and impulsively pressed her head against her brother's fur. What was done was done. But she couldn't help wondering if Clovepool had seen that, if she would be even more disappointed. I won't do it again, she thought. She was learning even now. But... oh. She had done that... In front of a stranger. Firepaw. That was her name. "Shadepaw," she replied, her voice icy, but again, not exactly hostile towards the other apprentice. "I don't recognize you." Was Firepaw new to the clan? Joined off from one of the others, maybe? Or she was just another kit Shadepaw had avoided, not wanting to socialize. She didn't particularly care. She just wanted to be alone right now with her thoughts. But she couldn't just leave, after Clovepool had said to get to know the other apprentices better.

Stempaw lay in the shadows along the edge of camp, an irritated glimmer in his eyes. He wasn't really trying to hide from Newtbelly, or else this would be a piss poor job. Tch. This is so stupid. He mentally grumbled. Sure he wanted to be a warrior, but he didn't like being bossed around by the older cats. And he found most of his denmates to be unpleasant. So instead of seeking out his mentor, he sulked.

hollyfall feels antsy today. he hasn't been able to sit still since he woke up this morning, and has been cursing the sun for it all day. this is horrible, absolutely horrible! not to mention the heat that's almost impossible to escape, even within the shade of camp. the warrior's den was a total no go with how crowded it always is in there. dear moon above, he really doesn't want to risk someone starting a conversation with him. it'd totally ruin his vibe. he decides he'll go on a stroll through the territory, mhm. good plan.
or, it was a good plan until he made a big goof.
scurrying out of a shaded corner of the camp, the lanky tom originally planned on rushing towards the camps exit. that is, until he trips over thin air and stumbles a few pawsteps forwards before falling straight on his face. this is just my luck! oh my moon, oh my moon, did anybody see that?! wait, of course someone saw it, I'm in camp, his minds racing as fast as a rabbit as he slowly sits up, turning to sneeze when lingering dirt tickles his nose. then he very, very slowly turns his head just to spot an apprentice. oh great, he fell right in front of somebody. pelt burning with embarrassment, he simply stares at stempaw silently, unsure of what to even do.
